Ride worker killed in accident at South Carolina fair

From RideAccidents.com..

Quote:
Ride worker killed in accident at South Carolina fair
(Sunday, October 19, 2008) - At the South Carolina State Fair in Columbia, South Carolina, a maintenance worker was killed in what is being desribed as a freak accident involving a carnival ride called the Inverter. A fair spokesman said that the man was struck by part of the ride in a danger zone that was not visible to the public, and no one witnessed the accident.

The National Consumer Product Safety Commission is investigating.

The ride is operated by North American Midway Entertainment.
lol at RA.com misspelling described.

"freak" and "carnival" in the same article. Wow didn't see that one coming. And if RCT memory serves me right, that's an Swinging ship that goes upside down...so what the hell was the maintenance dude doing in the way of the flow of the ship?

Unless he had a death wish...what with working in a carnival and all.

It was a Chance Inverter. Not a swinging or looping ship.

Looks like this -

That's like standing under a B&M invert with an added crushing effect on top of that. Those fearless maintenance workers.
