Your Season Ender 2008

For most of us in the nation the coaster season is coming to an end for 2008. I thought I would make it to SFGADV today to end this season but I got called in to work. Therefore my last coaster and park of the season has been Sea Dragon of Jumping Jack Landing at Columbus Zoo. I thought I would get one last ride on Medusa and Toro for 2008 but it was not to be.

What was your last park and coaster of your 2008 coaster season, if it is applicable to you at this time?

I went to Hersheypark yesterday. There were a lot more people than I would expect for November 1st. It was rather busy. I got a good seven hours in and hit all of the major roller coasters except Great Bear (one train, line back almost to the entrance). Fahrenheit seems to have gotten a good deal faster since my first rides in July. Maybe it is finally broken in? Lots of rattle, though. I also rode my 130th coaster; I have been to Hersheypark numerous times but never rode the wild mouse. My last ride of the night was a front row ride on Comet. I like to ride this Schmeck creation at the end of my nights at Hershey because it gets out of control. Second best Schmeck in the state.

I hate to do this but I was wondering. Did anyone else feel the Comet crew at HP this year was slow? I went three times and each time they kept locking, unlocking, relocking, and double checking the trains. Lots of stacking. I saw it all three times I went.

I too planned on going to Great Adventure today. However, after a late night last night, and lack of interest, my end of the season trip to GAdv was canceled. I was hoping to score a mini-marathon on El Toro at open, and to finish the season with a final El Toro ride, but it was not to be. This is my first season since I became a passholder in 2006 that I did not renew before season end.

I'm going to gamble on a season pass deal through the end of the year for SF.

Hit my 500th ride in Renegade last night to finish off my 2008 season. Still on track for my 1,000 rides in 4 years goal.

Flight of Fear at King's Island, rode it twice in a row earlier today. The first time we rode it, all the lights inside the dome came on while we were hitting the brake run so I got to look around. I'm disappointed the King Cobra train is no longer there because I wanted to see it, but I did spot the old Tomb Raider seats.

Got my last ride on the Beast in last night in the front seat on one of the last trains of the night. I didn't re-ride it today because I wanted my last ride of the season to be a night ride.

Was at Six Flags New England today (Sunday) for its last day of the year.. Last thing I did was Superman.

As far as I know.. My next coaster won't be until April unless I somehow end up back in Florida or in California. But my 08 season did bring me to over 70 park visits. A full list of where I went this year can be found here - CoasterFanatics.Com - Member Calendar for 'Canobie Fan'

I got my last ride of the year in at Canada's Wonderland, on Behemoth, last night.

Next up will likely be the Dania Beach Hurricane when I visit the area in January.

I forgot to mention i also took one last ride on the Log Flume seeing as how that was it's last day of operation. I even had some employees ride with me and we were chatting and they confirmed they were riding cause it's gettin taken out.

I asked if they knew when it was being removed and they said construction workers were ready when the last day was over so i assume it's close or even already starting to be taken down.

Why didn't you visit a single park in the last 2 years Sfft_2108? Just curious.

Never lets me down.

I don't know Chris. I just haven't made it out to a park or SFFT in general. I haven't ridden Tony Hawks BS or Goliath, tho I've been on Great White. My coaster interest is on the decline.

Night ride on El Toro a few weeks ago.

I hope I'll make it to SoCal soon though. Last time I went they were building a spinning coaster but now they have their third launch coaster.

My last ride of SFoG's season was Mind Bender on Sunday evening.
That park needs some bee control, kthx.

Edit: I'm going to IOA & USO later this month, and SFMM & KBF in December.

I'm pretty sure I won't be able to visit any of the Texas parks this month or next, so my last visit to a park was Sept. 28. It was Cedar Point, of course, and my last ride was Maverick. It was spectacular as usual, and leaving my friends and the park behind was bittersweet.

Looks like Millennium Force won't be my last coaster of 2008. My dad just got his green card and is moving out to Vallejo in December, and I'll be making the drive with him. After checking out Discovery Kingdom's website, looks like I'll be able to finally check the park out.

My last coaster so far for the season was the Yankee cannonball at Canobie Lake Park. Their Crazy cups was the last flat ride.

My last park for the year will be Santa's Village in Jefferson, NH. They operate on weekends for a Christmas event from the Friday after Thanks giving and weekends till Christmas. The coaster is often open early in the year but closes down once it snows and gets too cold.

Last ride I got on was El Toro at SFGAdv just before going back to school. No fall coaster rides for me this season. sigh.

If you count Pavilion Nostalgia Park as a park (which I do) then that was my last park visit.

My last coaster ride was probably Afterburn, but I'm not sure.

I am in the season never ends delima. So last coaster ride for me will most likely be Kraken sometime in December it just depends on when my last update for the month is with Manta. Possibly could be the Hulk as I will be doing that in a couple weeks but most likely it will be Kraken.

lol, I love how I made this post.. and then 5 days later.... I drove to Orlando, with a stop at Wild Adventures.
The last "park" I went to would be Pedroland (eww) but the last park I rode something in would be SeaWorld and the one ride on Kraken I took on the 12th. Oddly my first and last coaster rides of 2008 were in Florida as well as the first and last "new credits' I got.
