Already planning for next season

Anyone else already planning where they want to go next season?

My husband is going to have a much better paying job next summer so I'm intending to get season passes to Cedar Fair (platinum pass) and Six Flags. My brother lives in D.C. which gives additional access without having to drive too far.

Here's the parks I'm definitely going to visit, without a doubt - all will be new parks to me except KI and CP:
King's Island (home park)
Cedar Point (secondary home park)
Stricker's Grove - 45 minute drive
Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom - 2.5 hour drive
Six Flags America - 30 minutes from brother's
King's Dominion - 1 hr from brother's
Busch Gardens Europe - 2.5 hrs from brother's

Places I want to try and get to but aren't as likely:
Indiana Beach - 3.5 hour drive
Holiday World - 4 hour drive
Kennywood - 4 hour drive (but on the way to brother's!)
Six Flags Great America - 6 hour drive (but it's an excuse to visit Chicago)
Hersheypark - 2.5 hours from brother's
Six Flags Great Adventure - 3.5 hours from brother's
Dorney Park - 3.5 hours from brother's
Lakemont Park - about halfway between here and brother's

I am. Since I've moved to Amarillo, Texas, I'm trying to figure out parks I may be able to hit next season. I want to get a Six Flags season pass and get my money's worth by visiting Six Flags Over Texas and Six Flags Fiesta Texas a few times. I also want to go to SeaWorld San Antonio.

Cliff's is a few hours away, so I may drive there. And Silver Dollar City's a day's drive away, so I could do a weekend trip.

I'm also planning on taking a few days and flying to visit my friends at Cedar Point and go to Kings Island for Diamondback.

I know I am planning some trips...and it cant be worse than 2008 when I have not made ANY trips this year.

So, for 2009, I do plan to head back to the east coast for a series of visits including Carowinds, Kings Dominion, and Busch Gardens Europe.

However. 2009 I will definitely make a trip to Six Flags Over Texas. While some may wonder why SFoT is a certainty...well, with my move back to North Texas, that is now my home park. Plans to attend in 2008 has to be shelved due to other issues, but 2009 is a lock for sure. Anything else is up in the air right now.

Well Holiday World is the closest park to me so I already got a season pass! They have them cheap thru mid October. Here are my plans:

1. Holiday World / Splashin Safari - probably at least 3 times
2. Dollywood / Dollywood's Splash Country - at least once (still praying for a new water attraction)
3. Six Flags St Louis - at least once to ride what I haven't ridden
4. Silver Dollar City - at least once to tackle those coasters
5. Kings Island - I found out it was as close as SDC and Dollywood, I had thought it was further. I am so excited about this! I plan to give myself at least two days maybe three!

My family and I have decided so far that we are going to these parks next year:

1. Dollywood/Splash Country (Home park so we will get a season pass)
2. Kings Island (Got to ride Diamondback)
3. USF (Still havent rode Simpsons and I want to ride Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit)

These are some that we are considering:

1. Seaworld (Never been there before and we will be near there when we go to USF)
2. Carowinds (This one is one that we may have to put off until 2010 since something big is rumored for then)
3. SFOG (It isn't that far away and I've never been there and we have been wanting to go for some time now so we will probably make a trip down there for like Spring Break)

Right now I am still undecided on where I want to go. I may hit repeat parks or I may head back to the west coast to go to some of the parks never visited or the ones I haven't been to in years:

Places I want to go to:
Cedar Point
Hersheypark
Kings Island

If I can make it to the West Coast:
SFMM (want to see the hype about Tatsu)
Knott's Berry Farm (haven't been there in years)
SFDK (never been and well since I'm already in California...)
Disneyland
Great America
Desperado (just the coaster. Drove past it in 2003, but never rode it)

The parks I WILL make it to because they are close:
SFOG
All Orlando parks
BGA

I always say I want to go back to Indiana Beach, Holiday World, Hershey Park, Kennywood, BGE, but finances and gas prices don't always cooperate. I'd love to get back to Dollywood this Christmas, too.

Definites:
Cedar Point (platinum pass)
Kings Island (platinum pass)
Geauga Lake (platinum pass)
Zoombezi Bay

Maybes:
Hershey Park
Kennywood
Indiana Beach
Holiday World
Stricker's Grove
Coney Island (cincy)
SFKK

Far Shots:
Silverwood
BGT
BGE
Dorney
Dollywood
SFA
Beech Bend

Indoor Water parks I plan to visit this winter:
Fort Rapids (Columbus)
Castway Bay & Kalahari (Sandusky)
Coco Key? (Newark)

I don't have any money for big trips.. So I'll just toss something together later... I've got a few minitrips I've mapped out.. But its more of a wishlist right now. I'd like to do some CA parks.. or maybe MN/Iowa/NB area.

I've done everything on the east coast so I can't do any day trips around here.

I don't really care about counting anymore, once I hit 500 I was good with that. I don't think I'd get all the way to 600 next year. Oh well.

My proposed clinching of Starliner when I get Manta is already in danger! I want to see my brother in Gainesville again as a clue. I would want to fly into Tampa.

Unless your Spring Break is different from Spring Break down here, I would advise not going during Spring Break. If you do, go on Monday or Tuesday. I went during Spring Break(on Friday) a couple of years ago(2004, I think) and it was so crowded, I didn't get to ride many rides.

As for me I'll probably be going to SFOG and SFWW. DW is a very big maybe if the economy picks back up.

With the purchase of a KD season pass for 09 that will become my new home park so I'll be sure to get in plenty of visits during the season....SFA on the otherhand is completely out of the question.

Due to the driving distance to KD as opposed to SFA I doubt that I'll be able to make it to the haunt during the 09 season but I'm still keeping my fingers crossed on that one.

Any of you guys who are planning Kings Island trips, don't forget to contact me in advance. I'd be happy to be your tour guide and it's not far at all for me. It may be a little farther come next summer if my plans go through for a move to Columbus, but still a day trip, easily.

williard - where in TN are you? I lived in Memphis for several years, it's bone dry as far as roller coasters go. When Libertyland closed, SFSL and SFOG became the closest parks! I'm hoping I might make it to Dollywood, I've got some friends on that side of the state I might be able to stay with.

I thought it was farther than that, honestly. Either way, it's still a hefty drive to any decent parks.

Looking to begin my 2009 in January at Sea World San Antonio and Kemah Boardwalk. Fiesta Texas in late February. Beyond that, only time will tell.

Kings Dominion and SFA are always a sure bet due to their proximity to my house in the DC area and their cheap season passes.

Other then that I'm holding off on any plans because I need to figure out what I'm going to do with my life after I graduate from college next spring...

edit: although I still am holding out hope that I can take some time off at the beginning of summer to do a big Pennsylvania trip, do the whole state and get to all the parks up there. So far I've only been to Hershey Park. And of course Holiday World and SFNE are still on my to-do lists like every season...

I just got my Dorney SP voucher in the mail today, so I expect to go there a lot next season as usual. I also plan to get a SF SP for next year (hoping for another deal like last year in December) for many trips to Great Adventure. I also hope to get to Morey's and Hershey.

As much as I would like to get to more parks, traveling for now isn't an option so I guess I am very fortunate to have Dorney and Great Adventure both about 45 minutes away from me (especially Great Adventure).

That's a very good position to be in. I'm about 40 minutes from SFGADV but in the opposite direction from you so I'm about a hour half from Dorney so it's somewhat similar.

If I drive through Altoona this weekend I'm sure with the tease I'll want to return and get Lakemont/Delgrosso's. There's always the cleaning up the small areas of NJ and PA left to comb for credits. James has parted the seas it seems in NY on what is left to get there. Trimper's at OCMD is still on the radar. I may go back to Dorney if I go to KI during my sister's last year in Ohio and thus get a season pass.

Just to be curious, what was the deal last year in December? Last I looked, they were $45 from SFKK (my nearest park) so that's a pretty good deal IMO ($50 less than a KI pass and $105 less than a CF platinum pass) but is there a possibility of something even better? Cause if so, I'll wait!

I went through the lists of coasters at all my "must have" parks and added SFGAdv to that list.. in addition to Diamondback at KI, that will give me at least 40 new coaster credits if I manage to hit all 5 new parks! Plus that means 3 Cedar Fair parks and 3 Six Flags parks, which makes a season pass make even more sense for both!

There was a Six Flags One Day Sale in early December 2007, that a Yahoo ad on its home page pointed to. It was probably not more that $60 for a season pass. I already purchased my pass in October 2007 in fear of Dan Snyder and this present management of the company. I am waiting for certain sources before I decide.

What I am looking at for next year, if all pans out (and we all know how plans change!)

January : Boomers (Ft Lauderdale)

April : Canada's Wonderland (and all season, as it is my home park)

May : Hersheypark and Knoebels for the ACE Spring Preservation Con

June : Silver Dollar City and Worlds Of Fun for the ACE Coaster Con. Celebration City was part of that, but, oh well...... and I will add Holiday World and maybe Indiana Beach on the way there / on the way back. Six Flags St Louis is a rumoured add-on to the Con, so i will be there too.

September : La Ronde and Great Escape for ACE's Summer Conference.

November : Las Vegas area coasters, for the ACE Fall Conference. I may make a side trip to the Los Angeles area, perhaps doing a couple parks.

I have a mid summer vacation to play with, too, but no plans yet. I also will at some point in time make day trips to Waldameer and Martins Fantasy Island.

I still have a bunch of Canadian coin. It could probably cover CW parking. Being at Niagara Falls USA side this past June I vowed to get back and get Marineland, in the distance you could see from the Falls, and Canada Wonderland.

BGE, KD, and Carowinds are always a go for me. Already renewed my season pass at BGE. Also I cant decide if I want to go back to SFGradv or hit up SFOG. I have never been to SFOG but el toro is calling my name at SFgradv. tough decision. Hopefully I will hit hersheypark again and maybe Dorney.

I did it. For the remaining of the year I'm playing a Hooters passport game to collect location stamps for a prize. I stopped and took pics of Delgrosso's and Lakemont off season having never been to Altoona before. Since I touched it I need to come back and experience it. My virgin eyes saw Leap the Dips in the distance.

James, in like craziness, IMed me that he was going to Wild Adventures. I guess the $2 gas prices really drove us.
