Purple!? SROS(SFNE) Transformation

Wow, I just saw pics of Superman Ride of Steel track being painted purple!?!?! at Six Flags New England. That's just crazy. I'm playing along with the viral online campaign the park has. I have a Metropolis company "stock certificate" I signed up for with their network of sites. This painting has me wondering just like the Medusa work going on at SFGADV. All we can do is stick around for updates.

I saw those as well over at screamscape. The purple looks good as long as they paint the supports a different color as well.

So far I don't mind the purple and blue. If there was purple and green that would be strange, almost like Goliath at Walibi Belgium or Holland. I'm disappointed though that Mind Eraser looks the same. I'd take a Two Face coaster orange and aquamarine there.

Could this mean that the coaster will be re-named Terminator now. I just don't see purple fitting in with Superman but i could be wrong.

I would go with silver supports now.

The supports were painted blue before they started painting the track purple.

I personally hate the color scheme. but it goes along with the whole no more superman rumors.

Yuckeee. or however you speeel it. I had not heard the rumor of no more superman theme but it would make sense seeing as the colors are gross and blue.
I guess for me the thing that bothers me is instead of doing all these changes to these rides, shouldnt they be putting that money towards there debt and make the company run properly.. The ride is great the way it is, it does not need sound in the car and a few fire balls, just seems silly to take the number 1 rated coaster for many years and screw it up.. I guess for me I liken it to Led Zep the Ride at the HRP, the one thing I really didnt like about it was the music. I love the sound of the wind and the roar of the ride, its what makes a coaster a coaster.

Metropolis Stock Exchange
The fake stock exchange site is tied to the ride development so I don't know about the name change. Clawshun Industries is the name of the fake company shared amongst the campaign sites. At the ride transformation announcement at SFNE there were even actor protesters.

This is what I'm afraid of, it's so good now could any changes possibly make it better than what it is? Although I have to wonder, if it goes down considerably in its "rankings", would they be able/willing to change it back?

They'll have to redo the line now as well. The part right where you enter is shaped like an S.

And how could adding more ride effects make the coaster not as good? Close your eyes and it never changed.

It could still be themed to Superman, maybe something like Lex Luthor's Revenge or something along those lines. Six Flags has plenty of rides themed to villains as well as heroes.

I think It's pretty obvious that it's a Bizarro theme.

I thought the same thing as soon as I heard it it was going purple, I don't know why (Seinfeld, probably).

I hope to hell they up the details and theming on this, it could be pretty cool.

Does anyone have a link to the pictures? I want to see this. I already saw Medusa at SFGAdv's new paint job, and it's a crazy electric blue.

Hey, if it is not broken then why fix it!?!?

I wonder what type of music it would be. Hopefully not the Terminator or Superman soundtracks.

X2 has trains that are 10,000 pounds lighter, and I didn't noticed a change in the ride 1 bit. So if the poundage changes, the ride will probably change so little you won't even notice it.

it will likely get buried in the sign show next to the sign for Batman original sign with the better more unique name.

The new trains are rumored to have speakers. That will make them weigh more. It might not change the feel of the ride much. Though it might have long turn effects on the structure.

If the trains are built lighter and then speakers are added, it won't have any big effect. Plus, the speakers aren't going to weight that much. One or two small speakers in each seat, wiring, and a control box that plays the music.

I don't see how they can make the seats lighter. as is there are simply a metal platform with fiberglass body and seats. they are very simple to start with.

That's pretty much what helped to freak out my uncle when he rode S:ROS. The seats already look like fold out metal chairs.

With the way SF has been going in '08, I'll go ahead and say either a Wiggles coaster or maybe a Thomas deal. But I do hope it's Bizarro O_o.

I honestly remember Bizarro having just a plain superman costume with a sign though.

I'm probably going to expect to be blinded by LED lights in the first drop tunnel now.

Clawshun Industries (the fake company from Metropolis that is supposed to be renovating the coaster) is headed by CEO John Exler Espada.

Lex Luthor's full name is Alexander Joseph.
Rearrange the letters in Alexander Joseph, you get John Exler Espada.
The company seems to be headed by Lex Luthor incognito.
I think Lex has some drastic secret plans for what we used to call Superman Ride of Steel.

I don't expect a SFMM Fortress of Solitude, a new Superman entrance sign, yes.

I decided to be minimally involved in all this but I took that free small share of Clawshun Industries in their stock offering. I got an email saying the value shot up but my dividend was stolen by Lex Luthor! That bum.

I just got an Christmas Ecard from Clawshun Industries. I opened the email, put in my mobile number and instantaneously I received a call. As I picked up the Ecard changed to a greeting from Lex Luthor with a Christmas tree of Kryptonite pieces. Interesting.
