I'm preparing for Mitch's poll and since I crossed the 100 unique coasters ridden threshold, I realized I need a better system than using only 1-10. I know ive seen others use up to five variables, I'm just not finding any of them, with the exception of Roller Coaster Tycoon. Apologies in advance for length. I'm attempting a system which favors some elements over others. My thoughts so far are A. Rerideable - 0 not at all, 3 sometimes, 5 always. Number times 3 B. Environment - music, theming, paint job, and surroundings. Number times 1 0 - none bland and unpleasant, includes parking lot coasters. 2 - 1 or 2 bits of theming, also includes heavily themed parking lot coasters. 4 - Some theming but room for improvement/additional, mostly pleasant surroundings 5 - All out theming of the ride, queue, station, and great surroundings C. Ease of getting to, on, and off ride - includes comfort of seats and safety devices, as well as hills leading to the ride, IE Batman and Mindbender at SFOG. Number times 2 0 - long queue with many turns, a hot indoor queue, a high station with many steps, large hills to get to it, train with seat divider or non padded seat 2 - medium queue length with no more than 3 required turns, not more than one flight of steps, some hill, headbanger OTSR, 4 - easy to get to and slightly painful restraint or somewhat difficult to get to and wonderfully comfortably restraint. 5 - no complaint D. Ride elements - speed, loops, unusual train, record holder ect... Number times 2. 0 - kiddie, small mine train 2 - standard looping w/ 3 or less loops - includes boomerangs, small wooden, wild mouse, bobsled, small steel 3 - rest of wooden, standard looping w/4 or more loops, all out and back steel, spinning wild mouse, toboggan 4 - broke 2-4 coaster/ride related records at opening, stand up, ultra twister, racing, SLC, any backward, any launched 5 - broke/claimed more than 4 coaster/ride related records at opening (not park records), currently holds at least 2 records, all over 200', all faster than 70mph, flying, floorless What am I missing folks? What else besides nausia and -/+ g-forces do you rate your coasters by? Thanks for your polite imput.

One thing I use is adding credit is something is unexpected. for example a kiddie coaster with a strong helex or a smaller coaster with big coaster air time or forces. I have 72 coasters to my count. I have no problem with the poll. Since the steel poll lumps clones into one category apposed to rating every one individually.
