Hard Rock Coasters

Everyone knows by now that Hard Rock Park is selling everything, and that there is a slim chance someone will by the park and keep it as is. So my question to you is this: where should their roller coasters go?

Here is a list of their roller coasters (point out if I missed any):

Eagles Life in the Fast Lane

Led Zeppelin - The Ride

Maximum RPM!

Shake Rattle 'N' Rollercoaster

Slippery When Wet

The park is up for auction. They aren't selling individual rides or anything yet. They only reason they are auctioning the park is to get rid of debt.

Doesn't mean that the park goes bye bye yet.

The auction is another 10 days out. Be patient young grasshoppa.

Eagles- Some Mid Size Family/ Corporate Park (Beech Bend Or Something on that Scale)

Led Zeppelin- Any Park that Can Afford It.

Max RPM- I Sadly see this One Being Scrapped because Its a 1 Trick Pony.

Shake, Rattle- Any Park that Could use a Family Coaster (SFStL Maybe)

Slippery When Wet- I Dont know if anyone would want this due to Capacity but if it did, SFNE could get it.

No one has picked up carowinds water coaster why would WRP's got picked up any faster. Only park in New England I would want to see pick up either water coaster is Water Country. The Amusement parks are either not focusing on coasters or get 2 many people to get such a small ride.

Have you been to HRP? it's not reflected on your tracker. Max RPM and Shake, Rattle, and Roll Would be great addition for any family oriented park. A park with limited space like say Canobie woudl get a lot out of either one.

Eagles is a big coaster so it would be a tough sale. Same thing with Zeppelin. A park woudl have to have the room first.

But like Katie pointed out there aren't selling yet and likely wont. There will be some one out there willing to buy the park in a whole. I think PARC is the most likely American company to bu the park.

I would love to see Led Zepplin come to my home park Lagoon, but that's me just dreaming that they get a taller and better coaster than the 110' Wicked (great ride actually) and it is probably not going to happen.

I would have waited til the auction as well. I really don't know what to expect with the rest of the world, our country's situation going into 2009 so I don't have a need to guess where anything is going. I only asked/joked that LZ goes to SFStL.

Life in the Fast Lane seems like a gem for a family mine train to snatch up. I'd prefer the park to stay as a whole.

If CP could get LZ,that would be insane, but,it's highly unlikely.

I hope that Wild Adventures gets LZ. When your star atraction is an SLC your park needs work.

I don't see what good LZ would do for Cedar Point. It wouldn't being anything new to the park that they don't already have.. And as it is the ride looked pretty lack-luster.

I think that's the exact reason why a park would want it. Why have the plain old lift hill or launch coaster when you can have a ferris wheel coaster.

It's just that you were making statements about the coaster as if you have been on them. you'll never know if it's a one trick pony until you actually ride it.

Down fall with trying to sell large coaster is that they need to be able to fit in the next location. I'm not sure were CP could install LZ. wild Adventure Seems more Family oriented. Life in the Fast lane might be a better fit for their style.

I don't think HRP is going anywhere soon. Someone with experience in the industry will buy it.

I just wonder why everybody has written this park off as in its going to get taken apart. There were alot of factors as to why the park didnt do well and most of them where the owners fault.
Think about it you can buy an operating park that cost 400 mil for 40 mil and then you could buy some of the rides from Cypress Gardens and have a great park with lots of rides.. With the right operating team and a little advertisement the park could do great.
If I owned it I would buy some buses and bus people to and from the beach for free it wouldnt cost that much to run 2 buses on a contineous cercuit.
Lower admission, buy some more rides, get rid of the Hard Rock name, get rid of alot of dead space in the park..
I may be wrong but I just dont see the park getting dismantled. The current owners just didnt do there homework or know how to operate a park.

I think the rides will stay, but I just wonder who will buy it?
Will it be some chain like SF or CF or will it be independent?

even if you drooped the hard rock name, why would you add carnival rides from Cypress any park with themed areas. I think the auction will fetch more then 40 million. Though the price it fetches will easily be a bargain.

It will likely be a chain but it won't be SFI. CF is a very slight possibility. the only us chain that might pick it up is, like I said before, PARC. You might see it go to a foreign chain like Merlin or Parques Reunidos. Blackstone Group and investment firm might pick it up.

Because the first two options actually stay operational for more than a few hours at a time.

Max RPM isn't that much of a one trick pony. Its a decent family coaster with an innovative lift.

LZ is indeed a lackluster coaster compared to other B&M's out there. I found it to be rougher then Kumba and its not even a year old.

Pantsfree since you seem to have been to the park. What are your impressions of the 5 coasters they have.
