Question Six Flags Purple/Blue Trend

Everybody has been wondering why S: ROS has been painted Purple & Blue, and I don't know if I am the only person who noticed this, but Medusa at Six Flags Great Adventure is also purple and blue. Do any of you think there might be a connection?

They signed an agreement with a paint supplier I heard about a year or two ago. Since then they've been working at SFMM with Ninja, VIPER, and X2 getting repainted, Chang has been done at SFKK, Kong and Medusa @ SFDK. I was wondering when they were going to swing down to here. I'm the last to complain about Medusa's first paint job. It was scheme meant to beam even years after fading and running rail rust. The nuclear lime was a perfect fit. The purple did just fine here in Jersey while at SFKK it was just horrible.

Umm Chris picked up on the SFGADV work. http://www.thrillnetwork.com/boards/...-makeover.html
I mentioned Flying Phil of another site, more specific for the fans of SFGADV flew over to give us a blue/purple Medusa overview.

http://www.thrillnetwork.com/boards/...formation.html The SFNE thread with the SFGADV tie in mentioned in December '08.

Yes they did sign a deal with a company to do ride painting. but that has nothing to do with the colors. The concept of them buying in bulk is very likely since they can get a discount. the colors in question might have been offered at a bigger discount. but it adds to the list of back paint choices for their rides. like the yellow paint on the batman coasters.

Has anyone thought they might be getting the same theme at all?

Lex Luthor (Clawshun Industries in this media campaign) is hinting at that.

Paint in bulk? Of course they buy it in bulk! It takes upwards of 3,000 gallons to re-paint 1 roller coaster.

As far as the colors being the same at other parks, I really think its just a coincidence.

This is what I have been thinking! Maybe S: ROS will be called Medusa?????

And they can't both be themed to Lex Luthor, as there is no way Six Flags would completly change the name Medusa. It is like a signature Six Flags name.

You got it wrong on S:ROS side. Check the SFNE Transformation thread for the big clues already leading up to SFNE's work. Six Flags has done numerous things that make us scratch our heads so them losing the Medusa name wouldn't be out of the league for them.

Okay, about Medusa. While it's possible it'll have purple supports, Flyinphil's pictures show a newly painted Blue track, but the supports weren't yet painted. They were still the old paint job. Even if the new paint is the same color, they don't have to change the name. Blue is just as fitting for a water goddess as green.
