Carowinds: Nighthawk's Facelift.

Here are some pictures showing off the new colors for Nighthawk. I was unsure how the yellow would look when i heard about the new colors but i must say it looks very good.

Ooh. I like that very much. However, I'm not sure how well yellow works with the "Nighthawk" name. Are they changing the name, too? Or will it still be called Nighthawk?

Wow the new paint looks great! I like this color scheme so much better than the old one.

Looks great, nice to see that Cedar Fair is working hard to bring the old Paramount parks up to the Cedar Fair way of doing things. Minimal themeing and nice clean atmosphere. I wonder if they will be doing something with the trains or if they will stay grey. Have not heard anything about a name change while its possible I think Nighthawk isnt a bad name even with the yellow and blue..

Wow this looks better than what I expected. I hope they do something with the trains also.

Well, the paint scheme was kind of chosen to reflect the colors in the ride's logo...

I think the new colors are great. Very vibrant and eye catching. The creepy alienesque look from the Star Trek theme didn't really do it for me.

Also...something I noticed. Did they fill in the little pond that used to be underneath the two corkscrews? Looks like they did...

When they said dark blue, I was expecting like a real dark navy blue...almost blackish.

This colour, while nice, just doesn't fit at all.

Oh, well that clears it up. In that case, I think it works just fine.

As I've said before, I haven't been to Carowinds in at least 5 years, so I haven't seen it since Cedar Fair picked it up.

I was more impressed that they used primer on it. The colors remind me of Invertigo or Batman: the Ride, the only SLC one unfortunately, at SF Mexico. I can't believe this is the same Cedar Fair that chose the name Banshee for Mantis because it seems that they have been playing it safe since. The colors look very PG-13 or for the Tweens set. I'd be happy with black/gray with blue. The black would not have faded very well though.

It seems to me that Six Flags and Cedar Fair have been avoiding dark or dull color combinations since many new coasters are brightly colored.

The color Scheme dose look good. The whole area around the coaster looks great. A fair about of mature trees and good landscaping.

I guess Steel Phantom would not have the colors it had if it was under the SF or CF regime.

It's close to NITRO colors, somewhat to Chang's.

They looked like they got through most of the painting in the first photos we got. I'm not sure what else do we have to see, the pinstriping?

I like the colors too. They are very close to the logo colors, which probably has been said already.

Really? The following look pretty dark and not brightly colored:

Keeping with the same general old shade and basing it like Nemesis wouldn't have worked? I just thought of a sand support like Maverick's with gray track.

Looks like Nighthawk's new paint job is complete. Looks very nice and bright.

The park also posted some nice pictures from the snow storm. Enjoy!

I realized my one pick for Nighthawk colors was already the scheme of Afterburn. Those new colors scream: Batman Knight Flight.

It's got a bit more orange in it than Batman does IMO.

Dani seems to be on top of things, or whoever has been taking pictures. The only year we got pictures like this was when Borg was going in.

I saw the new colors from I-77 the other day, it was weird! I love that it's so bright though. And I also love seeing a new coaster from the interstate too, that's always a good thing!

Thats funny that you say The Today Show. They did a story about the 4-5 hour lines for jobs and they showed the entrance to the Carowinds employment office. It caught me off guard. Not something i expected to see on The Today Show.

Nighthawk does look great from I-77 and i could almost make out Cobra. It just depends on where you are on 77 if you can even see Cobra.
