Cheetah improving?

I visited Wild Adventures sometime after Halloween of last year. I took my little cousin along and he even noticed it. Something has been done to the Cheetah. It seems like its now faster and smoother than it used to be. Also, I noticed more airtime, a lot more in fact. The turns are still a little rough, but not as bad as it used to be. I've heard from a local ( listen to me, I'm sorta a local myself lol) that they seem to be working on it a section at a time, and it will go a week or too without opening at all due to maintenance. It still had those ridiculous trains on it, but the track seems to be in much better shape.

Maybe the Cheetah is going through "rehab" and is responding well.

Anyone else notice this too? My cousin and a few others there that day seemed to have noticed it as well.

I went to the park the Sunday before Columbus Day but both Cheetah and Hangman were closed for me. James went later in the month I believe. I believe he said he didn't have a problem with the ride. It didn't sound like it was meeting up with the old stereotype about the ride.

The first time my little cousin rode it was a year before our last trip and he was scared of the thing after the first ride because how rough it was. Now, he changed his mind about the Cheetah and loves it.

Personally I've never given up on the Coaster. I rode it durring its first year when it was still new and have liked the Coaster ever since, even when it became "The Beatdown 9000" as some have called it due to its roughness it developed over the years.

Now, it seems its getting some much needed attention and may one day return to how it was its first year or two. The Cheetah was my second wood coaster, and the short time it and Miracle Strip were both open was a blast for me, as I spent many weekends enjoying either my first or my second Wooden Coaster.

Maybe Cheetah improving can help soften the blow that losing Starliner could be.

As far as it not running all the time, I think they are doing that to reduce the wear and tear on it, until either the economy picks up and they can put more money towards maintenance, or maybe until they go for some different trains.

If Starliner does get scrapped, maybe its new train, being only 2 years old, can go to Cheetah. I've always said Cheetah would rock with some PTCs on it.

martin-vleminckx has Cheetah listed under their retracking section on their site.Realizations

Doesn't say when they retracked the coaster though. but I'm glad they are working to better the coaster.

Not a bad company to over see the work. After all, they built the Triple Hurricane.

They do do a great job. They build all of Gravity Groups coasters. They rebuilt the back turn of Canobie lake Parks Cannonball coaster.

Cannonball seems to be a common name for Wood Coasters. Theres one at Lake Winnie which is an Allen Coaster. I think Hersey Park also has a Cannonball.

If you check RCDB there are only 4 coasters with Cannonball in the name. Lake Winie's Cannonball id built off the same Blueprints of Canobie's Yankee Cannonball. Though Canobie's was modified when it was moved to the park in 38.

Hershey does not have a Cannonball. You were thinking of the name Comet. Hershey has Comet and chocolate.

CCI was one of he worst coaster builders out there. Seems every coaster they have built needs major work. Boulder dash has has section reprofiled and over the last 2 years GCI has retracked the entire coaster and added a new element were a half trick track was. Excalibur at Funtown has had some work done. The park doesn't have the money to do all the work that needs to be done.

I noticed the Dragon Coaster, aka the " Maria Carey Sweet Fantasy" Coaster, is the most recent renovation.

Also the Dania Beach Hurricane was redone by them, one of the "Florida Four".
