Here's Some Facts We Missed

Forget a down economy, gate attendance is dropping because roller coasters aren't 'green', well, some are. Now, let's set the record straight on just how the roller coaster became what it is today . . and I don't want to hear nonsense about automated lap bars or klothoid loops.

15 seconds in. Hahaha I found the smokestacks off the Great American Scream Machine at SFGADV so offensive. It's such a polluting coaster. The site is a brownfield now because of all the toxic gum spewed by passengers off the ride. They need testing wells under the chain motor from the toxic grease now too.

At least that one middle school kid here in NJ, one of our members, built the Kingda Ka replica out of KNEX and made us proud.

I loved the still pic of the people freaking out on the wooden coaster. Their faces - LOL. I bet that was Rampage at Alabama Adventure.

This thread = win.

Here's the real Six Flags Corporate HQ that was re-created in RCT2. Note they have six "flags" (smokestacks).

I would like to go 30km per second in the video posted by Ta2KX. That's about 108,000 kph (or about 67,108 mph). If it takes a minute to complete, it must be the longest coaster too!

At least with all the flames coming out the smokestacks at SF headquarters they're coming up with better names than CF's Flight Deck and trademarking Voodoo.

Hmmmmm do i know of a roller coaster that is boring and dangerous to the enviorment? Going to have to pull out the Chinese stress balls for this one......let's see......nope it doesn't exist,...yet. *Concept is now copyright TN 2009*

Alright can anyone help me with the stats so I can get this into the Database?

Name: Optimus Prime
Park: ? / Height: ? / Length: ? / Cost: ∞
Designer & Builder: Oye Falode
Duration: 1 minute
(Cannot be added to Ride Count) Ride Status: Illogical
Top Speed: 67,108mph
Car Arrangement: 4 Cheez-it Crackers
Tagline: "Rollo Kozta, we won't harm ozone layer or customers"
Features: Designed for people of all ages from newborns to grandma
Fun facts: This rollo kozta has no fuel, therefore causes no pollution and is run only by your own self-bewilderment of it's actual concept.

There is no brake run on Optimus Prime and loading looks like it would be done with the cars tilting like on a certain Schwarzkopf coaster, Catapult.

I guess George Washington Carver invented the first piece of peanut butter fudge sold at an amusement park as well.

^Katapult (Mirabilandia)

I had never heard of that before, craziness. Anyone know why it is like that?

^

I understand why now I guess just seems like a silly coaster now though.

Uh, NutinElse2Do, we don't like double posting on here. You could go back and edit your post and add what you have in the 2nd post.

Marcus: It should be added to the DB. Height and length would be measured in miles. Of course, I don't have time to come up with a rough estimate. The model is about 4 feet tall and seems to have a top speed of 20fps (about 14mph). Translate that from everything else we know.

It would break more records than you can believe.

30 km/s is 1% of 1% of the speed of light. However, it is still 100 times greater than the speed of sound. At least we won't have to put sand in the tracks.

At 1800km (1118.5 miles) long, I don't think anything will come close.

Anyone else notice how they also claim roller coasters of today are thrill-seeking? Apparently today's coasters have become sentient beings and are looking for the best thrills...instead of you know, offering that thrill to us puny humans.

I'm guessing that's a school project. And even worse, is that I'm guessing they got a good grade.

We would hope it would have been a stretch of Green design project, providing the teacher any excuse to play with the KNEX pieces packed in boxes in the classroom because as a main focus it's terribly weak.

I'm going to say it was for a physics class at an African American school. Why else would they have to say connections to African Americans?

wait, how the heck do you make an entire rollercoaster out of natural materials that can do all those "complicated loops" and for that matter, why name it optimus prime of all things, is that kind of opposite of natural?

From the ore of the earth - all natural! I see a future CF marketing intern in the making if the he or the firm, which ever comes first, survives the road ahead.

Unless it's made out of plastic, pretty much every coaster is made from natural materials.
Wooden coasters are made from wood, obviously. A natural material.
Steel is made from minerals and ore that come from the earth, hence natural.

I guess this means that Walter Bolliger and Claude Mabillard are the two greatest black coaster designers of our time.
