| Chinese firms make dated Arrow-like models
I can't believe a Chinese firm made a new coaster that was just installed in Mexico that looks like an Arrow from the 70's, even with that outdated corkscrew support cross bracing! Those coasters in the US are either second hand now or ripped apart to become scrap. I was just looking at the Golden Horse Coaster company site out of China for the Vekoma Kumali clones made by them when I found the Arrow looking models. http://goldenhorserides.com/newEbiz1...7fe8a7f4d6191a Look at Page 2. Here is a POV of a "new" coaster La Montana Rusa just installed at Parque Bicentenario Queretaro in Mexico. SBL - Beijing Shibaolai Amusement Equipment installed this one. Really I shouldn't be surprised about Mexico but the models: Yes. http://www.rcdb.com/4468.htm Just when some of you who don't like Corkscrew at Cedar Point thought that it could eventually go away. Now I wonder where Delgrosso's Libertyland Revolution coaster that sat in storage went. GM is selling the Hummer brand to a Chinese company. I wonder what could happen now with that.

How strange- they dispatched the train before finishing the restraint check? How unprofessional... And how do they get away with ripping off patents of other manufacturers anyway? They have a very Vekoma-esuqe SLC model too.

| But you don't see the Europeans ripping off U.S. patents...or anyone else, really... what's the difference?

Patents aside, I think it's kinda cool. While I much prefer B&M, Intamin and other more modern companies and designs, I always like a little Arrow coaster in a park. I sometimes miss that simplicity.

The box look is the only part that doesn't look Arrow in the loop. It actually looks more portable Schwarzkopf like on that model installed in Mexico. The terrible transitions continue to exist though. Between the Screamscape, my friend, and I are going back and forth between whether the Kumali clone made by Golden Horse is sanctioned by Vekoma or not.

Oh great, NOW there's a possible source of new parts for the Big Bad Wolf.

Let's go find the next Big Bad Wolf in China in like two years. It'll literally be there or in Mexico.

So there also is a chance Drachen Fire could be rebuilt.

| I think they check the restraints as the train goes out. I actually like that idea.

Ouch! That would take an arm off. What happens if they miss a restraint?

| Stop the lift and check it?? How is dispatching a train before the restraints are all checked cause for missing one? Yes, we're all used to the safety measures in the US that are constantly holding our hands and wiping our butts because a minority of people don't know how to responsibly look out for themselves. But I kinda like the "don't be a dumbass, make sure your restraints all the way down or you're gonna fall out" mentality. It really weeds out the stupid people.
