| Which Intimidator Ride will be better??
I know their is going to be a Intimidator coaster based on Dale Earnhardt Jr. at both Kings Dominion and Carowinds in North Carolina..I was wondering which out of these pretty interesting coasters will be the best out of the two?? I heard the Intimidator 305 at KD is supposed to go like 90 MPH and like taller than the Millenium Force at 300 ft?

I know you're new, but we've known the stats for both for a while now... My personal opinion is that i305 will probably be the better one. Multiple reasons: 1: B&M has been making very tame designs... They are fun, yes, but not exciting. 2: B&M has been making very consistent (read: cookie-cutter) designs. They are all very similar, which not only guarantees that they will have very similar layouts, but they will also guarantee that these rides will be fun, but not #1 quality. Although to truly cement my ideas of B&M hypers, I have to get on Behemoth again, now that it's broken in, and I've been on Nitro for comparison. 3: Intamin makes very creative layouts. 4: Intamin makes freaking amazing (read: fast, forceful, out of control) rides. 5: In six years, I will be a Structural Engineer (I'm a High School Junior right now) so I tend to also look at unique aspects of engineering. Seriously, the track was made larger so that the entire lift can be supported by TWO columns. That's freaking cool, 400 - 500 feet of track supported by only two columns. |

Millennium Force is taller at 310ft and i think I232 will be better simply cause it's a B&M. Enough said.

Tough call. The coaster at the Carowinds will likely be an air time monster. KD's coaster will be packed with speed but not as much air time. I have yet to be on a B&M Mega I didn't love, but my top 2 coasters are both Intamins. It will all come down to personal preference. I am really looking forward to the completion of I-305, but then again I'm a huge Intamin fanboy.

^^ I totally agree with you =). Besides, i305 will have "over the shoulder lap bars with shoulder straps" Which to me is just another name for OSTR's so that's going to ruin airtime. The layout is alright. The best part about i305 is going to be the speed. I personally don't think B&M makes tame designs. It seems to me that the only coasters that deliver ultimate speed, force and fun combined with a smooth ride is a B&Ms. However...I do admit my arguments cannot be completely counted because I've never experienced and Intamin.

Moved to general coaster discussion as this has nothing to do with construction.

305 looks better to me. There are a lot of hypers but not too many gigas.

No poll? I'm going with the Intamin. |

I'm going to say that Carowinds' Intimidator will be better. The scond drop and the turn-around are going to be extreme.

I think the Carowinds one looks better. The KD one kinda looks like a waste of a giga to me, IMO.

I believe in the same reasons as Ryan. With the photos of the physical construction my eyes are opening to Intimidator 305. I'm hoping the last low to the ground hill near the drop base will have a surprise of air.
