here's an idea...

there is such a lack of rates on speedzone these days (i too am guilty of not rating) so i just had an idea to encourage feedback. you could count feedback in speedzone as like 5 posts instead of 1, but moderate it so if anyone is giving bad rates just to gain posts, their comments are deleted.

Your post count shouldn't mean anything to you, so that would not be a good idea. People either want to rate and comment, or they don't. Post count should have nothing to do with it.

Amen Phil. If you still care about your post count these days then you are just plain ol stupid. But seriously, raising it from 5 from 1 is just a little crazy. It would be hard to monitor it. So its a bad idea.

I don't think the post count should have anything to do with it, plus 5 is way too much for a contribution as simple as a post.

Currently, uploads count as 2 because of the content that's contributed. There is no way I would make comment post counts higher than uploads, and there's no plans of increasing the upload post count.

I've also been monitoring things and you should hopefully see the top 10 return soon.

I feel that we also do need more comments and stuff going. Having it count towards your post is a good idea. Maybe we can pick at random a comment member and have a prize or something....who knows.

What I tend to do is sorta showcase my coasters. Such as my current avatar and signature. Display all the hard work you put into it, get people excited, make easy links for them to download. I've done this with almot every coaster I've released.

A lot of people are doing this too, sort of showcasing the coasters. Might be a good idea to try.

yeah, some people don't realize that we have the speedzone forum to advertize rides and get help with them from.

I just did a runthrough for the Top 10...

I have 27 rides that meet the criteria for Top 10 listing. However, all of them are for NoLimits.

We need a lot more RCT 1, 2, and 3 votes in order for me to implement the Top 10.

I know it's a bit offtopic, but

Why then do you demand someone to have 1,000 posts to choose a custom avatar?

Advertising in the Speedzone AS you're building the coaster will help you greatly. Don't throw up a thread whern it's done with a download link that says something like:

Okayz, here is my newest B&M invert! Download and rate!

Post screenshots during construction, put a link in your signature, whatever!

We also have a minimum membership period to get a custom avatar. ( 6 months)

Our preference is to allow members that participate but don't spam to have custom avatars. Someone could post 100 posts in a few weeks if they wanted to, but they would have to be a member for 6 months before getting a custom avatar. Simularly, if they are a member of 6 or more months but haven't posted much at all, they won't get a custom avatar untill they get the number of posts. There is a loophole as they could at that point spam there way to a custom avatar, though we will likely ban them before they get there.
