NFL Wildcard Weekend 2009

I don't know which EAGLES team could show up: the fire away explosive team or the no show duds at the Cincinnati and Washington games. Minnesota is more of a friend til gameday. I was on an anti Giants rant.

The Patriots didn't even get in at 11-5?!?!?!?! Wow

I had no problem sacrificing my casual interest in the Jets for my true love to get in.

San Diego blew out Denver. Look at how dead San Diego once looked as well too.

The trajectory of the field goal ball in the Buffalo game was way off. Buffalo = disappointing once again.
Yup, Vikings fan! I'm always in these gameday threads.

I like the Eagles and i'm glad they got in(well, until I realized we would play them in the first round...) Out of every team in the playoffs the Eagles matchup possibly the best against us. Offensive wise, you've got three really good corners and a nasty pass rush when blitzing.(which is every play, lol)

I think our defense will matchup pretty well against the Philly offense. Jackson kinda scares me because we do not have the speed in the secondary to single cover him. If we can get an early lead our pass rush will be able to get McNabb out of a rythem. Who is the Eagles left tackle? Jared Allens matchup vs him is key to a Vikings win.

Tis a rough game, i'll say 14-10 Vikings!

NFL Wildcard Weekend 2009

Indy-San Diego

Atlanta-Arizona

Baltimore-Miami

Philadelphia-Minnesota

It's a condensed field of teams now. The NFL Playoffs are going to begin now with the Wildcard Weekend! Here we go.

With Philly and Minnesota: I like having a balanced offensed but Andy Reid loves being Pass First. It's out there that Minnesota has a poor pass defense so I'm sure there will be plenty of passing. I hope our hot rod component of the team drives forward and not the dud of the offense shows up. It's the Defense of the EAGLES that has been mighty and keeping them in all these games.

Haha.

Carowinds, I kow you are scared of the Falcons, but picking the Cardinals to win is pretty LOL.

They've only gotten worse the last 4 or 5 weeks, while Atlanta has only gotten stronger. But you know that when we whooped you guys last meeting.

Arizona also comes from a craptacular division. The Falcons have been hard at work in one of the strongest divisions in the league...

I agree I would pick Atlanta. Philly on NFL Network Thanksgiving Night picked Arizona apart too. It was a Mini-Dallas Massacre.

I'm gonna be at the Vikings game, hopefully Tavaris Jackson will do good for us in his first playoff game. I personally would prefer Gus to play because he has more experience.

I guess Tavaris is going to get a little more hair on his chest playing.

You can tell 73 is a diehard Kittens Fan for his extreme dislike of the Dirty Birds but you pick Zona over a team that crushed the Kittens? All I can say is that it will really suck for you seeing the Kittens lose next week

No, Carowinds is just a NC fanboy. I really doubt he knows anything about the sport, other than Carolina is good. (this year.)

I picked Arizona only because as good as Matt Ryan is i think he won't do so well in his first playoff game.

I have no problems with Carolina playing Atlanta. Atlanta should be scared to play Carolina at home after the spanking we gave them. Atleast we didn't loose a home game.

Colts, Falcons, Dolphins, Eagles.

Never count Peyton out, Matt Ryan will be the rookie QB to shine, Pennington still has a chip on his shoulder, and McNabb wants one last Hurrah.

Baltimore also has South Jersey's Joe Flacco going, the rookie QB.

Yeah man, Matt Ryan is definitely a choke artist. He has the best rookie QB rating in history, the least amount of interceptions in rookie history, and will be the league MVP.

And when was that spanking exactly? Oh right, week 4????

That was almost all of our O-lines 4th game ever.

But I guess the great Delhomme will show us how it's done right? Assuming he doesn't get injured and or fired.

It's not too absurb to pick the Cardinals to win this week IMO. They're 6-2 at home, with wins over Miami, Dallas (when they were good), and Buffalo (when they were 4-0). I'm going to stick with my original pick though and say Atlanta represents the NFC in the Super Bowl.

Whoever says Gus for the Vikings... nononono! He's thrown like 12 touchdowns and 15 INT's. Compare that to T-Jack whose thrown like 9 TD's and 2 INTs and 8 TDs with 1 INT in the last 3 1/2 games. Gus would be destroyed by the blitz packages the Eagles throw at us. I don't think we want to watch Gus get hurt...

Not to mention Gus gets sacked once out of every five times he goes back to throw!

I read in the morning paper there was still 14,000 of 20,000 available tickets for the Minnesota game. You two or three Minnesota fans that just showed up should make it 13,997 tickets left. Birds fans just might make Minnesota Green.

They said that some of those 14,000 tickets were selling for as low as $22! I would absolutely love to go out to see the birds win this game.

You do realize that Steve Smith makes up for Jake Delhomme's crapiness, right?

Strategy for every Carolina game:

Throw a hail mary to Steve Smith in quadruple coverage and watch him grab it for a crucial first down.

Several Jets players are blaming Favre for missing the playoffs this year. I read it on the ESPN Bottomline.

Hey, ease up on Gus- you do realize he was there when football was invented, don't you?

And Favre- It's sad, but he's become a joke. Even Steve DeBerg says he should retire. The man was so great in his day- he should have hung it up before tainting his legacy by playing far too long.

There's still like 6-8000 tickets left for Minnesota. The NFL extended the deadline to today before they call a blackout on tv for the Minnesota area and other markets. The Vikings didn't make season ticket holders buy tickets ahead of time; that's part of the problem.

Thats a little shocking that they still have tickets. The Panthers put 7,000 tickets up for sale at 10am on Jan 1st and by 10:05 they were sold out.

Just as soon as I got to learn the term "Dirty Bird" and today that Matt Ryan grew up around and went to HS in Philly the Atlanta Falcons got knocked out by the Arizona Cardinals. I only got to watch the first quarter or so of the game and Arizona was charged up. Arizona wins and moves on.

Congrats to the Cardinals for winning a good game. I've never been a fan of the Cards, but I like seeing Kurt Warner and the Edge do well.

To Slippy and our other Falcon fans- the loss may suck, but the Falcons are for real- to be where they are this year, after where they were last year is a great sign for your team.

Now, on to part two, and to see that loud mouthed a-hole Phillip Rivers get beaten. Remember Rivers- you only have that job beacuse a Manning didn't want it.

The Cardinals played a great game shutting down Atlanta in every way.

Falcons may get their chance next year.

I picked the Cardinals to win too, despite all of my friends' loud objections. Great game by the Cards. Now I just need the Colts, Ravens, and especially the EAGLES to win this weekend.

^Thunderhawk I appreciate the use of the CAPS this time. I like bragging about this site that I have other Philly-Jersey people in the house.

Game two is up. San Diego and Arizona have lame blow up tunnels with a flat front. They're not cool like the EAGLES helmet or the head I've seen the last few seasons. I have a thing for the Chargers and Qualcomm Stadium. The old multiuse stadium endzone high wall is a San Diego staple and reminds me of old Veterans Stadium. I like Chargers home games.

Maybe Miley will show up as a spokesperson.

I don't know who I want to win Indy - San Diego. I did just saw that highlight of the cheap Indy TD with the SD player coming off the field.
