Let me see the pole winner and the other top 10 qualifiers...but right now, I'll go with the #24 strawberry douche Chevy Monte Carlo of Jeff Gordon.

^They don't race Monte Carlos anymore. They race Impalas now. I'll say Mark Martin will get the pole.

I think Stewart's gonna be up there competing, he's always strong at Talledega and his team's been looking very good lately.

This is the best race I have seen in a long time. But the race isn't over, but I think Jr. could win it, but who know

That was a SCARY crash for Carl edwards. I will say that the 09 was following the rules so not do say that he wrecked him Carl knows the rules.

Wow, a restrictor plate race remarkable only for the crashes. That doesn't happen very often. Only 4 times a year.

Here's a recap of the race, which also serves as a recap of every restrictor plate race, past or future:

Start
Boring

Someone gets "hung out to dry"

Big crash

Interview where someone from the crash gripes about restrictor plate racing

Someone wins
A bunch of interviews where everyone except the winner gripes about restrictor plate racing

Really good race at Talladega. I thought Carl Edwards was going to win until Keselowski got a run on him. I haven't seen someone flip like that since Tony Stewart in the 2001 Daytona 500.

If the finish line was in the tri-oval, Edwards would have won it upside down.

Not a very good race for Hendrick Motorsports.

That's what what's his name should have done to stewart last year. Good job Brad holding your line and wrecking edwards. We need more wrecks like this.

I'm ready for the All-Star and the 600!!!

Don't forget about RIR. One of the highlights of every season.

Carl Edwards wreck injures seven fans, sends two to hospital - ESPN

You'd think people would know better than attending racing games, it's always a very dangerous environment -- there are flying pieces/parts and debris everywhere when we see scary crashes like that. I just hope these people recover from their injuries.

What? Accidents like that never occur. The last one happened more then a decade ago.

^Yeah, but another 2-3 lanes up the track and it wouldn't have taken much more for that car to be over that fence and into the crowd. That woulda been ugly.

Nascar's very lucky such little amount of debris flew off the car when scraping that fence, I mean, once you have car parts flying into the crowd at 200 mph, there's really no saying what could happen.

If it were another 2-3 lanes up the track then the whole situation would have been entirely different and maybe Edwards would have just backed into the wall and not gone airborne at all.

NASCAR needs to look at restrictor plate racing (I personally have always thought it was pretty stupid and required very little talent to succeed in, hence why Jr was dominant there for such a long time) in general, though.

I think it's fine the way it is. Talladega & Daytona would not be fun to watch if we didn't have "The Big One" or wrecks like that at the finish. If the take the plates off and let them go as fast as they want then you wont have 40 cars fighting 5 wide every lap.

I personally would love to see every race end in a wreck. Which driver wants the win more.

Yeah sure, people do like to see multi-car pile-ups, and they do make for good highlights during the race (especially entertaining to see the drivers playing the blame game after the race). But this was flat out scary even for the drivers, when you see a car literally fly across the track like that. I just don't see how fans would want to put themselves at risk like that and risk getting nailed by a flying part or possibly even get hit by an out-of-control car.
