MLB 2009: May

It's close enough to May. Against those red hot Marlins, the Phils had a couple come from behind wins to sweep the Marlins. Come from behind is basically what Philadelphia is just doing nowadays. Raul Ibanez was an excellent pickup to replace Pat Burrell. He is quite a bright light through this month.

I also noticed the Yankees got swept by the Red Sox. It's the second tough weekend for them after playing the Indians last.

Jays have now won 6 consecutive series and are on top of the American League standings.
It's pretty damn awesome, if you ask me.

Pretty cool with the Red Hot Red Sox right there too.

Going to the Jays game on Tuesday against the Indians.
Hopefully I can see them win at home. The past few games I've went to, they've lost (granted, they were against the Red Sox and Angels).

The one Rays player had 6 steals in a game today.

The Phils-Mets split this weekend series since today was rained out.

I'm watching Jays at Boston Labor Day Weekend. We'll see how I fare with them there.

Why is it that only us moderators are posting in this thread and nobody else? Weird, huh?

Your tribe went 12 innings against the Jays tonight and won the game.
Lets hope it doesn't happen again tomorrow when I'm there.

The new Yankees Stadium has now become home run central in the MLB. Nick Swisher has turned out to be a good closer for them, especially at Tampa Bay.

Great game against the Indians today, even if I did have to leave early. I left bottom of the 7th, just before Rios went to bat, and before Lind got the 3-run homer for the win.

I did pick up a Jays jersey though. $80, knocked down from $180 because it has Overbay's old number 17 on it.

^I knew it was someone's fault the Tribe lost. I knew it couldn't have been our outstanding bullpen.

The Phils won a two game series over the Cards and now we're back in first place. We're off to ****i Field now, home of our rival Mets, breaking that in for two games before hosting Atlanta at the end of the week.

Shame on Manny. Shame. How can I forget Alex Rodriguez as well? I forgot that he was out for the Yankees. I wonder how they'll respond with him back. I'm glad Manny is no longer with the Boston Red Sox. I'm glad he's not a Phillie. We're ticked in the Philly area ourselves because our pitcher JC Romero was banned for 50 games from the start of this season for testing for a product he bought at a local GNC last year that was okay when he bought but later appeared on a changed updated banned list from MLB.

**** Manny and **** A-Roid!

How does the Tribe follow up a nice night at Fenway? By allowing the bullpen to screw things over with an 11 run inning.

Really? You really want me to participate in any of these threads?? I'd be better off talking about my Toledo Mud Hens.

I'll break the streak of only moderators posting in this thread by saying that Atlanta's not doing very good right now.

Jays game was freaking fantastic last night. The Skydome was the busiest I had ever seen it with well over 43,000 fans in attendance to see them beat the Yankees 5-1.
It was such a big hype because it was former Jays AJ Burnett vs mentor Doc Hallday. Every time Burnett was ready to pitch, he was booed by practically the entire stadium. The crowd was on their feet for the whole top of 9th to watch Halladay win us the game with his great pitching.

I have to give Jayson Werth respect. He stole 4 bases in last night's ball game including home. That tied a Phillies record. It's great he did that since leadoff hitters Shane Victorino and Jimmy Rollins particularly are having a hard time getting on base.

I'm living for this Phils-Yankees series this weekend. I hope the Red Sox win too (beat the Mets).
