2009 NFL Kickoff Weekend: 9/13 Week One

Go ahead and take it now Pittsburgh. I'm sure Tennessee and Pittsburgh will meet later and I'd like for Tennessee to take it then.

The Philadelphia EAGLES go down to Charlotte to play the Carolina Panthers at WesBowl, I mean Bank of America Stadium. I'm not surprised the EAGLES are underdogs. Game One will be the first time the front line of the O line will completely play together this season. They weren't able to during the preseason.

Ugh I can't stand the Ravens. They piss me off something fierce!

Steelers won by the skin of their teeth last night. Thank god for Jeff Reed. Troy is out 3-6 weeks with an MCL injury to his knee which happened during the blocked punt.

Steelers 1-0 so far, woohoo!

I'm suprised the Eagles are the underdogs after how horrible we played in pre-season. Maybe we'll get our act together for the regular season.

GO PANTRHERS!! Football season is finally here!!!

Wow, I was under the impression the EAGLES should have been underdogs. We have plenty of questions about gelling - people were injured during the preseason. In the past the first game was always a lil clunky and then we'd get the act together.

I have to do it for the season kickoff:

E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES!!!

Wow, I was uber conservative in what I would expect out of the EAGLES. I listened via my phone and was not surprised Carolina scored first. When I tuned in later I was surprised to hear the EAGLES recovered a fumble for a score and WR Desean Jackson had a punt return for a TD. The touchdown by Westbrook then sealed the deal with every side of the team contributing. The EAGLES had 5 takeaways!? On the radio they said the Carolina QB's were colorblind. That was supposed to be a very established, multi season established, very good Carolina offensive line. The EAGLES Defense got them. I like what Andy said before about this type of game: the team that got blown out is probably not that bad and the team on top is probably not as good as the score would dictate. I'll take it for what it is. We have a scare for Donovan. Running in for the TD he got injured. Kevin Kolb had to complete the game. We won't have Vick til after game 3. We'll see if Donovan returns next week. I know the Carolina blue is a sharp one and I was really disappointed to see a lot of empty blue seats in the stadium. I'm disappointed in the Carolina 12th man. The fans are supposed to leave early if they are blowing out the other team. The stadium was very empty, more than what I've seen at the LINC with people leaving early when it's Monday night or we're blowing someone out.

This summer I feasted my eyes in person on BoA Stadium. Did I curse it somewhat?

One loss down, and 15 more losses left to suffer.

I sure hope what I saw in today's Colts game was just early season rust and the perennial ability of J'ville to bring out the worst in the Colts. Sure they won, and I'm happy- but it was a bit sloppy.

The Browns found the endzone, but the defense was swiss cheese. Don't look for me to be a big participant in this thread.

Oh one other thing...watch for more empty seats at Cleveland Browns Stadium.

Jimmy is the closest. Hahahaha I was disappointed with the Texans and the Browns not ruining Favre's return. I love the new Sears commercial where he can't decide on Tvs. Good riddance.

Next week maybe the asteroid will hit the place that fell from space: Cowboys Stadium. My biggest nemesis will be there: the Cowboys and the Giants.

Carolina had a really sharp move picking up the just released from Philly AJ Feely. Since Donovan got hurt in the Carolina Philadelphia game we really needed to consider getting him back but Carolina snagged him up. We went and got Jeff Garcia. WOW. What a QB group with Donovan, Vick, Garcia all on the same team.

I was disappointed with the Bears throwing all those INTs, the Cardinals didn't cover San Fran's Gore on that one play. What an ugly execution of football that started with USC-OSU.

Out of Philly I was expecting a game of rust and then a correction with the second game and moving on. Nope, all gears were turning. The new defensive coordinator had a great debut.

Jay Cutler throws four interceptions in his regular season debut for the Bears. And Brian Urlacher is now out for the season with an injury. Is it ever too early to say a season is over for a team?

I expect that Jay Cutler turns it around or at least I hope so. Maybe something about being on the Bears brings out the worst in a QB?

At least you guys have us in the Bears schedule. The EAGLES have been bang my head on the table terrible in those Chicago games the last few seasons.

Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Close game, real close game, but the Patriots prevail!! Horrible first half for us and Brady, but in the last 3 minutes Brady definitely showed that he is back!

WR Hank Baskett got cut by the EAGLES so they could fit Jeff Garcia/Michael Vick in the roster. That means I lost my chance to have Kendra of the Girls Next Door sit in my section at the LINC. I heard she was at a preseason game already.

If you capitalize the word Eagles one more time, you will officially be the laughing stock of TN. Seriously. Please don't make us go there.

Nope. Jay Cutler just sucks.

And is it NINERS or 49ERS? Anyway the NINERS/49ERS pull off a great win against the CARDINALS.

NITRO since 2001. VIPER even got capitalized over the years though the SFGADV version that was local to me sucked. It's just how I've read the signs and logo fonts.

I will only negotiate when Hannah Montana is retired on TN.
____________
Actually that was just about before I went to the Y. I got a kick out of that and diffused it on the bike. I went a good 10 minutes before I hit enter on the program. I realized I capitalized things with lil quirks, things that are close to me. I most often capitalized CHILLER, NITRO, VIPER, EAGLES, SATURDAYNIGHTLIVE, X, X2, MR FREEZE(because of its relation to CHILLER), U2, INXS, NYC... Those are part of my quirks and you've got yours. "Don't change for you
Don't change a thing for me." I would get a kick if you'd make a nice TN April Fools Joke out of this.

The weekend is over, the week is usually dead so I'll probably post back on the weekend.
