Yes, that one.

I retract my previous statement. Matsui is a god tonight.

Well despite that Team that buys Championships, being fed Tastykakes and soft pretzels all my life and raised into the Phils I thank the Philadelphia Phillies for a wonderful season. I love my team and I hope we'll avenge this in my lifetime. I think we could return. We have to twist some screws in the offseason. 2008 was awesome. I saw something fully conscious that was mine for the first time in my life in '08. I'll always on the side remember the 2004 ALCS and WS as my favorite non-Philly moment so far. : P

I will congratulate my cousins. They are real New Yorkers, just good people.

I look forward to 2010.

Citizens Bank Park can be a whole lot more louder than that.

Enjoy your party though.

I'll give Mariano that he at least spoke English and said something funny how he'll stay another 5 years now. The WS MVP I wish he said something since I bet he picked up some English in the years he's been here.

Congratulations to CC Sabathia for winning his first World Series ring (wish it would've come 2 years ago). Congrats to the Yankees for opening the new Yankee Stadium in grand fashion.

Now I'll go back to hating them once 2010 rolls around.

Thank God Andrew you're going to return to your senses.
Even two years ago I started finding the parallels between the two teams in season, matching up. There's not too much of a difference between the two teams, just the Yankees did the little things and shut down the lefty hitters to win this WS.

I think I'm going to wait closer to Christmas so I can finally get a Phillies Away jersey at a better price. I have the home Victorino with last year's WS patch, alternate Chase Utley. I think I will get Chase Utley again and with this WS patch, away version. Despite the result it is special because of how big the stage is they got to. I will buy a pennant now too because now I know how far the Phils went.

You know, if I had $210million, I'd buy a World Series too.

Leo, do the Phillies have a clearance store or section? I got two Jays jerseys this summer in the clearance section of the Jays store at the stadium. The reason they were on clearance was because they are old numbers or players that have left. I got a white Overbay jersey with his number from last season and a black Ryan jersey because he was kicked off the team. Both were around $80, compared to the $120+ they usually cost.

The football team has an outlet store in Lancaster, PA. I cleaned up on their missing lapel pins I needed. Modell's hopefully will bring Phils jerseys closer to $50 near Christmas for replicas. Most likely I'll end up around $75.

It took 9 Years for the Yankees to win a World Series with their incredibly high pay roll?

Let's spend more money and bore out the sport.

Oh I had a lot of fun snickering at that every year since 2000. During that run I'll never forget the 2004 ALCS with Boston taking out NY and then winning the World Series. Does it give me hope for the 10 year's of Andy Reid's reign in football in Philly? Maybe it'll suddenly gel and get us through the Super Bowl.

I think the big spending is cancerous as well like the bore Kyle is referring to.

I just don't get how any of the players on the Yankees can actually feel like they've done something great.

When the only way you can win is by paying the first 5 guys in the lineup a combined salary of $92 million dollars, you really begin to wonder if the team has any integrity for the game. It makes me sick.

Honestly, the Yankee bashing you've been doing doesn't really line up or seem valid. It's not really the Yankee's fault the payroll, steroids, and salary cap (Or lack there of) is out of control, its MLB's fault, the Yankees are just a good example of how the MLB needs to make some changes or else the sport will become even more of a bore fest (If that's possible).

You can't blame any player on the Yankees for being happy or celebratory about their win. They're paid the big bucks to win, they did it, so have fun. Your post seems contradictory; they're paid a lot, they finally have won, they can't celebrate?

Not sure about your logic here, El Barto.

I'm disappointed the Jersey border was n't closed yesterday when the fans went into NYC for the parade so they'd be stuck there.

I need to find the one NLCS pennant I liked. I didn't like the one that was left.

There's already Halladay talk for both teams.

And besides, every player has a price, so even the worst teams are trying to "buy" talent. A pitcher has a Cy Young year, and suddenly he's worth more? Look at that bum Roger Clemens. He thought he was worth $20 million for a half year. Pedro pretty much followed his example. Who's going to be the next pitcher to play for half a season and go to the World Series?

That will give me much more reason to hate the Yankees and Phillies if he goes to either. Now that the Jays have a new GM, maybe he can start to build a real team around him and some of other key players. Start talking when his contract is up.
