First time back in years

Hello, I'm sure no one remembers me, but I used to be a quasi-regular back when this site was coasterforums.com/boards When the site made the change to TN, I kind of fell away from it, but I recently got my old screen name working again thanks to Kyle Rehm so I am back posting. I recognize very few of the names, but I'm working on it.

There's still a few of us old timers around. Many of the, umm, "standouts" are on staff or have moved on to other places. Others like me tend to be fairly sporadic in our posting due to lack of time. But you'll still see some names you'll recognize.

Welcome back!

I see that your first post on TN came in May 2002 and then posted regularly until January 2003. Around that time span, I was in my "hardly active" status on TN so in that sense, I haven't seen you yet....until now.

Let me be the first staff member to welcome you back to TN. I, and a few others, have done the same thing; we have had that long stretch of time (on the order of years) where we hardly posted at all in between the times when we do post, so I know how you feel. There are very few of us that have been here since it all started, but hang in there, you'll surely come across a name you'll recognize.

The one name that I remember distinctively is Dr. Bruce Banner, that dude was posting all the time when I was here. BryanWood's name sounds somewhat familiar too. Anyways, thanks for the welcome back and I'll see you all around.

Bruce is still on this site on/off. I myself was on as MaqAttaq for a few weeks, then I became the world's first chat mod. Now I'm the sysadmin for this site .

Welcome back .

Everytime I ride a coaster, it valleys. I've never been on a stalled coaster or had one roll back (except Wicked Twister and what was Superman: Ultimate Escape, which does that by design).

^^ Did you used to enjoy getting in fiery debates about CP vs. SFMM? Or was that someone else? I remember at least three times a week there would be a SFMM vs. CP/Goliath vs. MF thread. Haha.

I've been here since 2001, more not-here over the last year or so. I'm gonna start posting a little more frequently now, though. Always good to see old members!

Didn't everybody during that first year of the forums? There were countless threads between the fanboys of each park. People questioned the legitimacy of Superman: The Escape being a coaster or not which I always thought was foolish. It's a coaster to me and I'm in no way a SFMM fanboy (CP all the way!!!) so you know I'm not biased towards SFMM and just saying that.

Anyways, welcome back to the boards and have some fun.

LOL I forgot about that, ahahahaa those were good times. It did seem that every other thread was about th SFMM/CP rivalry and was in one way or another bashing one of the parks. It's good to be back.

That was just the reason I didn't stay for even a year after I registered....it's been a battleground for all kinds of flame wars -- Cedar Point vs Magic Mountain, Millennium Force vs Goliath, Cedar Fair LP vs Six Flags, Superman the Escape a coaster or not, Astroworld bashing.....I could go on and on. I got so tired of it that I couldn't take more of it anymore. After the SFN site disappeared, I decided to join these board again over two years after I left.

I probably was in those CP vs MM threads. I was really big on trying to convince everyone that Demon Drop was a coaster. That battle was always fun. I still think the topic is worth debate, though I don't really care one way or the other. I just debated it for fun.

Welcome back. Maybe you remember me, but then again I wasn't very active until about March 2003. Nice to have you back.

I'm hopefully going to visit a friend in MI next summer and will be able to experience CP for my first time and make my own evaluation on which is 'better.'

Well since I just joined last year, you definitely don't know me. But welcome back, it'd be nice to have some older members of the site posting with all the newer member that are now flocking the forums.

Thought this'd be a good time to post again, i still read the boards occasionally, just don't bother to post much any more. Wasn't sure if the account was even active still, guess it is!

hey goliathlete, i remember you. im one of the only old members who is still posting who hasnt become a staff member (as they always said, "if you ask to be a mod, you wont be one", im still waiting). i stopped posting for about 5 months when the site started becoming "cliquey" with kraken, general public, and their followers. that imo was the low of the site but when they all got banned, i came back and started posting again. welcome back
