Having just logged onto the internet from home for the first time in January 2001, I was still exploring various coaster sites amongst other things. I started going to ThrillRide around the middle of June, but never actually signed up for the forums until mid-July. Ironically, the factory job I hold now started 2 weeks to the day I signed up for TN (CoasterForum). I've been on other sites and this one best holds my attention. As far as comments regarding some of the other sites out there...I decline.

TPR has always been about focusing on our photo updates and videos. I think we have quite a bit of unique content to offer, as does TN, that there is enough for people to visit both sites and find interesting things to check out. If both sites had the same content and similar stories, that would be boring! --Robb "The more theme park sites out there with unique content...THE BETTER!" I agree with you Robb. I think that TPR and TN are completely different sites. I am much more active on TN, but I visit TPR frequently. I don't use the forums at TPR, I do that at TN. I use TPR to see photos and videos, which they are great for.

I'm also very active at TPR (I'm sure Robb can tell you). TPR takes more of a humorous standpoint, whereas TN takes things a little more seriously. It's good to have both. They both have their pros and cons, but they're both awesome sites that I'm proud to say I support.

Since 2001 - Still rolling strong. When I was a junior in high school I worked @ Batman & Robin: The CHILLER in its first full operational season in 1998. It was so far the one and only year I have worked at an amusement park. Six Flags Great Adventure. Thrillride! had a really nice review of the ride and great pictures and logos to go along with it. I read Coker's other good reviews on the site and followed him through the creation of this site: Thrillnetwork! Those reviews along with working at the park, getting multiple rides in the off time on the SFGADV coasters I developed into the enthusiast I am today. I can forsee my next metamorphis will be purchasing my first ACE membership.

I joined in the early days of CoasterForum... August 2001... although I don't quite remember how/why I came across this site... I went though a huge 'theme park/roller coaster fanboy' period for about 2 or so years, and regularly visited here... One day I made a pretty crappy animation about things not to do on a coaster, and that kinda made me popular, so I made more animations and got caught up in the whole 'forum God' thingy with all the ridiculous people that frequented the site (Kraken, GP, RiFT, Diesel, etc)... Everything really hit its peak during the times of Swillnetwork, then after the mass banning/leaving of several members, this place kinda didn't have the same appeal (not really a bad thing)... so my interest kind of wore off.. I still pop in every now and then though, but I think I'm one of the only regulars since 2001 with less than 1000 posts... Which is sad, because there's people that have only been here since 2004 with over 4,000 posts. So ya, that's basically what Thrillnetwork's been to me for the past few years... It's all been good fun. |

Hey, TN was the greatest site I found about coasters, and I made so many freinds, even as old as I was. Unfortunatly, people have different types of humor, that other people don't understand. Things come across so different in "typing" than they would if they were said "face to face in person". It's very hard to type an "emotion" and that's where people get in trouble. I love "sarcasm", it's my type of humor, it's the humor I was rasied on. I wish people would "get" the humor of sarcasm, but not everybody does. Most of the people who got banned during "my fun time on this site", were banned because of "sarcastic humor" or very expressive opinions. But that's how things are. Still, for those of you who love coasters and such, this is the best site for that!! |

And it is really difficult to convey sarcasm by typing. You almost have to add your own personal </sarcasm> type tag at the end of your post. Good to see you back Leeloo, hit me up on AIM sometime, I miss talking to you.

I miss you also, I miss a lot of my friends around here. But, I'm hardly ever on AIM anymore. And it does bother me that my account just vanished and when I was told to re-register, I wasn't even asked if I wanted to retain my current number of posts or my avatar...at least I wasn't even told that it wasn't possible to retain those things. It was basically, if you want to return, sign up new and forget all your past post. 3000 some posts, gone, for no reason that was explained, how would that make some of you feel?? That hurt, a lot! But, whatever, I still check in here every so often and post when I feel I want to post. For all of you newer ones around here, this is a great site to learn and talk about coasters and amusement parks, even though people will disagree about their favorites, but that is just being human. Everybody is allowed to have their own opinions. |

Hey Leeloo, I kid you not. I'm at my moms house right now, and she had this big stack of pictures. I found one of me, Cris, April, and her ex boyfriend sitting on a bench at the PKI campsite. MAN, I had some weight on me back then too. But yah, very cool that you came back. Please stay this time...

I joined TN mid June 2006. I remember I was really excited because I was about to take my first trip to SFMM only two weeks later so I started surfing the net trying to find out all kinds of information about the park, coasters, rides, etc. I was trying to find websites that had pictures etc. I have quite a bit of coaster websites bookmarked but Thrillnetwork is by far my favorite. I visit every day along with Screamscape just because they have more news sometimes and CoasterRealm because of the updates, pictures, and whatnot. I love talking in the forums as well as visiting the database. TN is easy to get around so its easily one of my favorite. GO TN!!

I would watch this site a few times a week for about a year. Then I joined. I don't know why I didn't before. I understood TN more than any other site.

I'm still around, it's a shame certain people got banned, because for all their rule breaking, they were the people that kept the site alive, and the mods never really got that. It's OK now, but should be much better considering. Not surprising older members don't post anymore. |
