Exclamation Read This Before Posting A File

Here is what to do when posting a file in the RCT section of SpeedZone.

1) Start a new thread in the correct area (based on if its a Track or Park )
2) For the Subject (Name) of the thread, title it the name of the park or track.
3) In the actual post, include the following items:

Park/Track Name
A Short Description
Does It Require The Drexler Patch?
4) Browse your computer hard drive to attach the file. Most will be found at C:\Program Files\Hasbro Interactive\
5) If you want people to rate your park, attach a poll with either 5 or 10 options. Either make it a 1-5 rating or a 1-10 rating. Don't go crazy with it.
Your done!

If you need the Drexler Patch, it is available HERE
If you have any other questions concerning posting RCT files, post them in this thread.

Last Note: You may also post Trainers and Other Utilities you find useful HERE. Be sure to include a short description too.
Please note the NEW RULE

Natelox, would zipping it make it small enough?

Oh, Greg, if we have a "park" with nothing in it except a coaster, can we post it here?

With all of that you can't make it under the 100k limit?

ummmmm......I am having no trouble posting things on here.
My FF8 park was 306000 bytes and it fit onto here.
Just go ahead and attach it and submit it, it worked for me.

Please post all parks/tracks as attached. This sorta goes back to the no link issue and could turn into advertising for someones RCT site. You should have no problem attaching.

Hang on... are the rules different now Speed Zone is up? Before you were allowed to post links IN THE BODY OF POSTS. I am thinking of posting links to a zip or jpg file, not so much someone's site. 100kb is nowhere near enough UNLESS you are allowed to link (or post 'copy and paste it' if your on GeoCities, Tripod etc. ) Don't get me wrong, I love Speed Zone it is much better organized and easier to find what you want. I just find saying 'attatchments only' very bad especially since attatched zip files very often fail for me.

I seem to have a problem with size like Natelox...at last I've finished my Patriot Park (which is about 900 some-odd KB by itself), and when I zipped it, it came to around 496 KB, which seems to be way over the limit...

Should I try Andy Hodgson's way (though mine is significantly larger), or is the limit absolutely 100 kb? If so, does anyone know of any other ways to shrink the file down (aside from deleting coasters and stuff lol )? This park has been on a waiting list for quite some time and it seems like many people want it, so if I could get some help on how to post it here, I would appreciate it a lot. Thanks!

We want to do this because if the server that is hosting that person's site crashes (even briefly) then the site link won't work, and we want to make it so that the files will stay up as long as Thrillnetwork is. Please keep to this rule.

I am clueless why this is happening. We make sure all attachments are zipped, as it is a requirement. My best guess is that for some strange reason your computer is downloading the page the attachment is on, seeing that this site is built with PHP.

One question, are you running XP Home or Pro, as this may be a problem. I have noticed several complaints about downloads and installs on systems using XP OS's, saying that they were getting faulty downloads and sometimes error messages.

No I run Windows 98. I will disable GoZilla (download accelerator program) and see if that helps.

If a piece of land has like 10 completely themed coaster and no guest-accessable paths, does that belong to track or park x-change?

If it is a themed coaster, then that is a track. If it is a small park, then that it is a park.

My real question is "where does collection of themed coasters go to?"
