Pine Ridge!!!!!

Looks like everyone is going to get to see Pine Ridge early

Here it is! On a dense treed mountain ridge lies Pine Ridge Theme Park. Back in the 1800's, and expedition was led out down the Missouri river to settle a town. The explorers traveled for days, but all they found were steep moutain clifts which they could certainly not build a town opon. Well, up the river some, the rapids got very feirce. Their tiny boat was thrown all about until it smashed into a side of a clift and sunk. The explorers were washed down stream and thrown all about. 3 lucky explorers were able to get hold of a log floating down stream and clung on to it for their lives. They climed up on top of the log and tied themselves to a branch so that they could not be thrown off, but soon after that, they fainted from exastion. When they had woken again, they found themselves flloating down a peaceful stream with beautiful mountain ridges and forests above. The explorers swam ashore and found that gold and jewlels were spread all over the shore. The explorers had struck a gold mine! They went back down the river to get supplies and people and came back to settle. From them on, the Pine Ridge Mine was the most prosperous town in the nation. Towns sprouted up all around and miners made millions of dollars from gold and jewels. But not long after that, something very mysterious happened. When a ferry taking people wishing to live in the Pine Ridge Mine Town arrived one day, everyone was mysteriously gone. Not a preson walked along the streets in the fishing villiage, not a soul seemed to be anywhere. The people arriving from the ferry never came back either. The nation stared in shock as whenever someone went to Pine Ridge to see what happened to everyone, they never returned. People became frightened and from that time on, no one ever dared to go near Pine Ridge.

Now in modern times, we think that that mysterious story passed on was just a hoax, but one day, when an airplane was flying over the area, the co-pilot spotted an old looking mine town below. A hellicopter was sent to check it out, and sure enough, it was the Pine Ridge Mine town- perfectly intact and exactly the same as it was 120 years ago. Soon, the abandoned mine town became a worldwide known tourist attraction. Finnally, in 1978, the town was turned into a theme park. Now, Pine Ridge Theme Park holds many world class coasters and Millions flock there yearly.

Finnally, you may now discover the secrets held within Pine Ridge Theme Park. Enjoy!

well butterfinger this is your best work, and that is saying alot. this park is amazing, awe inspiringly awesome, but i have to say a bit overthemed and overdone, which is not bad its just the park is a little bit too busy. but i loved the shopping mini map, great job there!!! now onto this wonderful review..

Overall Look:this is very very key. this park had a spectacular atmoshpere and a great feel. i love it.

i give it a:
9.6/10

Coasters: hmmm they're good but really nothing spectacular, wolverine i didnt like too much cause of pacing, brush flier was nice, so was thunderstone, water moccasin was again a good coaster. gold quest was nothing amazing either. but you have a good collection, next time maybe something more unique, especially from a parkmaker like you, trust me nothing bad, by many other standards this is top notch, i liked the coasters in Monte Vista and Sandcastle shores better.

I give it a:
8.6/10 (just cause ive seen you do better)

Theming: hmmmm its wonderful dont get me wrong but seriously overthemed. i think it looks great from zoomed out, but when you zoom in i seriously think you over did it. but still its nice, very very nice.

I give it a:
8.9/10 still great job by any standards next time, take it easy on the theming, i still believe that every space should be themed but i dont mean every quarter square lol cause thats what you did every space, shurb, statue, barrel, wood stack, well its nice but yeah you get the picture.

FINAL GRADE: 9.1

GREAT PARK!!!!!

Thank you for the nice reveiw, but what was wrong with Wolverines pacing? IMO that coaster had great pacing.... I dont see how you could possibly find it to be to slow.

BTW, I just thought I'd let you all know that the park I am working on now is already SOOOO much better than this one. So if you thought this one was good, WATCH OUT! The one I'm working on now should knock your socks off when its released!

The themeing in your park was incedible. but it didn't seem to have that many major coasters. I'd give it an 8.9

This IS going into the next TNPP. The reason I posted it so early is because I also need to use this page as a link for the current D-Net Spotlight. Ummm, he he, it would be nice if some people dropped over there Saturday and voted for me . I could use the votes..... there are some really good parks entered this week, plus, in the last 2 contests I lost the Spotlight by only 2 votes.......... but really, if you actually DO go to vote, only vote for which you think is the best

Sorry, I was meaning every park in TNPP. Like Cedar Mountains by SFMM DUDE, it was entered into TNPP, so I reviewed it. Just wait and see at the next TNPP.

Hey! I've been entered in EVERY SINGLE Priemier Parks exept for the December one, and I've NEVER gotten a review from you!

Quote:
It didnt seem to have many major coasters though
What is everyones problem with parks that dont have many coasters? I had 4 major ones and 7 total. Why isnt that enough? Dont get me wrong, I'm not blowing you off just for giving me your opinion, I just think it is weird that you gave me a lower rating just because I didnt have a Disney World size park with 5 million coasters.

let him have his own opinion okay? if he likes lots of coasters then he can. many people do. and if he doesnt thats why he gave you a lower rating, and besides thats not a bad rating.

and about the reviewing thing, andy said that from NOW ON he will review every park in TNPP he announced that well not announced but said that he would during the April/May contest after you entered yours.

I am not hurting his opinion at all. I was just stating that I thought it was weird that he thought there wernt very many major coasters. Sorry If it sounded like I was blowing you off Billycool120, because I wasnt at all.

Thanks to everyone who gave me a review or commented on my park

BTW, Didnt Andy say that a long time ago? It doesent matter that much really, I just think Andy has the best way of reviewing parks.

If I enter it, will it be accepted Andy? I always thought that rule meant it couldnt be entered into any previous TNPP, but I guess it says ANY contest, so I guess it could go either way.

It can be released 'publicly' but it can't have been entered into any other contest. I don't know if this was entered into any other contest, so if it was, please inform me. Also, concerning my reviews. I meant that from 5/1/2002 onward, I would review every park that is entered into the the TNPP after that date. On another note, a while back TXCoasterGuy1 talked me into doing a 'walkthrough' review of each TNPP park winner. So, you will see one of those soon as well. And April/May contest ends today. Winners will be announced later.

Pine Ridge Review

Roller coasters.
Great job on the coasters in this park. They had great excitement ratings, and they blended into the park very well. The coasters all had very nice stations and awesome theming. Also, the names were rather innovative. Some of the coasters were worked very well into the hilly terrain around the entrance. I really liked the B&M flyer.
Overall coaster rating: 9.6

Scenery.
For the most part, the scenery in this park was very good. However, I think a greater variety of trees might have looked a little better (yes, I know it's called PINE Ridge). The gardens were really great too, and the buildings were well done.
Overall scenery rating: 9.0

Other rides.
The other rides here were pretty good as well. I especially liked the two big water rides, Eagle Peak Rapids and The Great Redwood River, which is one of the best log flumes I've ever seen. Interesting idea, merging log flume track with River Ride track. I've always wanted to see a log flume with a steep drop.
Other rides rating: 8.7

Miscellaneous Comments.
With all said and done, this park was probably the best one of yours that I've seen. Very nice rides and theming, and the Pine Ridge Boulevard map was a pretty good little extra.

Overall park rating: 9.3

Sorry for the delay, you heard my story on why. Anyway, my review.

Coasters-8.7/10 Overall very good, but the 2 things I am most nit-picky about on coasters are almost the only things I didn't like. The flyer meandered around too long after it lost all of its speed for my tastes. And Wolverine had boosters in the middle, something I never like. Beyond that the only things I thought brought it down(albeit just a touch) were that strange turn before the first drop on the woodie, and the fact that the flyer had very little flying time. I know this sounds really negative, but it was actually pretty good. I loved the woodie except for that strange dip. The arrow corckscrew freakin rocked. Wolverine was good untill the booster, good after, but I mentioned my problems with that. And the mine train was cool, but a bit hard to find.

Theming/Scenery/look etc...-9.4/10 Your archetecture, mountains, and tree selection was very good, as always. The only thing I thought was wierd was that second entrance near the shuttl loop.

overall-9.05

One other thing-why do you always put your parks in zip files inside of zip files? That always gets on my nerves to some extent.

Sorry about the zip files in zip files thing. I dont mean to do it, its just that when I finish one map, I automaticly zip it, but later I usually decide to make another map as an extra and I have to zip it seperatly to put it in the same zip, and so this goes on and on in a painful process.

And BTW, The second entrance was not supposed to be an entrance. I wanted the entrance to be on top of a mountain (like in Silver Dollar City- The park I modeled Pine Ridge after), and I do not have the Dragons trainer, so I couldnt move it.

Thanks for all the comments!
