Thumbs up BARTLETT--released!

Andy Hodgson Mini Park #1

Bartlett

This park was completed on June 8th, handed out to testers on June 9th and 10th. The readme was typed on June 12th and release date was determined for June 21st, the longest day of the year. So, spend your longest day of the year on the beaches of Bartlett...

I would like to thank the following people
TXCoasterGuy1 and Natelox for testing this park
anyone in RCT who helped with support during the construction of this park

This park does require the Drexler patch
No trainers were used to 'hack' any rides in this park, only to freeze money at $5,000,000

It's a really good park. It's small, but very well put together. I like the supports for the Allstar (for short), and the last helix(s). I can hear the peeps now...

"Just wait until you go on the Long Beach Allstar! The last helix is the best part!"

Very good job, Andy!

great park man!!! well i've already given you the testers opinion and stuff but still great park man!!! thanks for the mention in the readme and letting me test, though i have to comment that if this park was a mega park it would be awesome. i love the brightness very different from Cordova. yes i also must comment once again that the helix finale was great, maybe improved by being a bit faster but thats okay!!!! i cant wait to see another min park from you!!!!........

Wow! Excellent mimi-park. For my ratings, see Butterfinger's, because I would give the exact same ratings. And I would also give Other Rides 9/10. I look forward to your next mini park, and Cordova Cellars if it ever gets released.

Thanks for the nice comments fellas. Mini parks are a breeze for me, and you should see another one in about 2 weeks or so. I just saw a park by someone the struck me with amazement. Unfortunately that person isn't going to finish it. The lightness and the scenery in it floored me, so my style is going to lean a little towards what was in that park. As far as Bartlett goes, I think it is rather empty, but that is ok I guess. Participating in H2H made me get the sense of the size I actually have to work with, so more good stuff will be put into my next mini.

Coaster.
Long Beach Allstar was a very good coaster. It had a nice color scheme, excellent ratings, and the supports were really nice, unlike some other custom supports, which look pretty cumbersome. I also liked all the turns and twists that Long Beach Allstar had. The station was relatively simple and very aesthetically pleasing.
Overall coaster rating: 9.1

Scenery.
Bartlett had a very nice selection of trees, bushes, and cacti, and all the little patches of dirt/grass looked pretty good as well. The buildings were nicely constructed, although the bit of Wooden Crazy Rodent coaster track on top of the Allstar Café building didn't look too good.
Overall scenery rating: 8.0

Other rides.
The other rides in the park were pretty good. They fitted in very well to the scenery of the park and Long Beach Allstar. The color schemes of the other rides weren't bad either, and the names were interesting, to say the least (Whitewash?). One thing this park didn't have was a functional water ride. Maybe you could have added a boat ride or jet ski next to the dock.
Overall other rides rating: 7.7

Miscellaneous Comments.
Bartlett was a very nice beach themed minipark. It had very good rides and scenery, and the Wildlife Refuge was a decent little extra. I especially liked how you named all the staff. I viewed the park with another member of Thrillnetwork who's a friend of mine, and we both had a few minutes of fun imagining the mods as handymen or mechanics. Oh, yeah, thanks for the birthday greeting in the readme.

Overall park rating: 8.4

No Natelox, I thought that the coaster was rather lurchy and a bit too slow as well. I think Andy could have done better with one that was a bit faster. Maybe if you increased the lift hill speed with the beast it would be better. Other than that I thought that it was a pretty good coaster. I liked the overall theme of the park, and the "lightness" of it. Good work. I hope that we see more new stuff from you in the future.

yeah well you cant have a big lift hill in a mini park it would be too dominating(<this word is used way too much lol) and big. he could do what intamin101 said. but i dont think its that bad, i mentioned that to him when i tested but he said he likes it that way and if he likes it then thats okay. its a good coaster overall, yes it woulda been better if it flew over hills faster but yeah its not that bad.

I wanna see the park! I'm in Michigan right now, about 500 miles from my RCT disk . After this, Cedar Point , and the Jersey Shore, I'll be back. In two weeks! Gah!!! I can't wait that long! Two weeks without RCT! Well, I guess Andy will have two parks for me by then. I'll edit this rubbish and give you a review in two weeks. See ya!

Yes, the speed could have been better, but seriously, it would be really hard to build a lift hill big enough to fit with the twister design I wanted for the ride. The average speed is not half bad, and there is only one hill where the speed apears rather slow for me. But, I like the way it runs, and it is my first ever try at a mini park.

I do agree with that. I really do like the ride. It may be a little on the slow side, but nothing can really be done about it now. And its not like it is bad, we are just trying to give you tips on your rides for next time. It is a very good park, and your future mini-parks have even better potential. Very good job.

Alright... Finally a park from you Andy! I'm a little dissapointed because I liked your H2H park a lot better. Anyways, here is a brief review and some tips.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-Review

-Coasters 7.0/10:
Long Beach All Star 7.0/10: Well, I must admit with Nate on this coaster; it is very slow. First off, I would say that you could put a little launched lift hill at the end of the lift hill, but then the intensity would be a 14. To fix that, just get rid of those sharp Lateral G's. Also, try to make sure at the top of the lift hills, it's going more then 25 mph (On most at least). There is one part I liked about this coaster though: the custom supports. You didn't over do them like Nevis, and I think they fit the coaster just right.

Theming 8.1/10: The theming in this park was good. It had a nice feel to it, but I think there could of been a lot more theming in some areas.

Architecture 7.8/10: For some reason, I don't really like the architecture. There was only really two main colors being used: Yellow and White. Also, I think the shapes used in the park were very odd. I would try to use shapes that are more realistic.

Overall: 7.6/10 (Okay): I think that this park didn't really show what you can really do in RCT. I think your H2H park with Fatha' was one of the best I've seen (9.7), and if you do some as creative, and as good as that, I think you will be reconized more. Another problem with this park was I thought it was a little empty. I thought you would of included a lot more details like more buildings in some areas.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tips-
- Make sure all your coasters have great speed.
- Use more realistic shapes in your buildings, and use a variation of colors, but make sure they look good!
- Make sure that every land tile has some nice in it, and that it will make a difference in the park.
- Fill in the park with a ton of little details because that is what makes a park great!
