High Plains

Well, I'm done fooling myself that I actually might get more work done on this thing, and realize that it ain't happening. So here it is-the western themed park that I hyped up in my thread. It is way far from finished, I just figured you might want to see it

Since this park isn't finished, I won't post a full review. However, your theming is incredible, I love that blend of cacti, bonsai trees, shrubs, and tropical trees. The architecture is superb too. Brazos River is a very nice river ride and the coasters were awesome. Texas Bandit, Fistfull of Dollars, and Hang 'Em High were terrific, but some friends and I agreed that The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly was an amazing triumvirate. I've seen very few triple duelers, as they can be very hard to build properly, but this group was terrific, with all the flybys, criss-crosses, and that tangled web of track at the end. In closing, it's a shame you decided to leave this park unfinished. It has really good potential, and I'm kind of sad that you abandoned Roller Coaster Tycoon in favor of NL. NL may have RCT beat in coaster designing and riding, but I think RCT is far more versatile and blows NL away with all the park building options that it has.

Your finished with RCT and going to NL?! That really sucks, this park looked really good from the screens. I cant D/L it yet because I'm still at camp, but I will as soon as I get home. Personally, I really hate NL. I just cant get into it. Plus I suck at it.

RCT will ALWAYS be better than NL.

Though the park isn't done...it is your best work. The theming and buildings were pretty good (much better than Camelot's) and the coasters were very good. Too bad you won't finish it...it would've looked pretty good.

All right, I've looked at it, and for the most part, the park was awesome. Your themeing and landscaping were amazing, and the coasters were great. It is REALLY a shame you quit working on it because I really think it could have gone places. I mean, I think you really could of had a good chance at TNPP with this thing.

I think you're abandoning RCT for NL. NL has the advantage of riding and designing coasters, but RCT blows away NL with park designing, landscaping, and other options.

Yeah, thats kinda what I first thought also. NL just isnt addictive like RCT is. I only played NL for about a week before I decided that it just wasnt as much fun. Now I only play NL every now and then.

Hey, if RCT brought Elrocko back (with encouragement from others) then of course it will for RCT Loser. Anyways, this park rocks so far. Hang em' High is a very good coaster, and I love the tree selection. It's sorry to see RCT go. Believe me, I know how you feel about the game, I go through it too, but just fight against to urge to leave, you won't regret it.

Looks...err, looked great! The Tex Mex landscaping looks really cool. I've always loved what those Chinese trees do to a landscape. It looks even better contrasting with the light cacti. As for the buildings, they're HUGE, and with the large bare walls, look kinda unattractive. But with the 250 foot The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly standing in the middle of the park, I suppose it is OK. Hmm...a very large midway to say the least. Perhaps put a few more of those midway gardens in it?

As for the coasters, good job. I love terrain coasters, and these were that. Hang 'Em High and Fistfull of Dollars were both good (FFOD got kinda slow and boring at parts, though) but TGTBATU and Texas Bandit were my obvious favorites. TB was deceving in that when I first looked at it, the hills looks very small. But easily seen after a ride, they were just the peaks. TGTBATU was a masterpiece in dueling coasters, and by far the best triple dueling coaster I've ever seen. The only suggestion I would have for the coasters is to vary the colors. They all were brown and/or black.

Overall, I wish you kept at it, cause this was a going to be a great park. Maybe all of the encouragement in this thread will get you back into RCT.

I'm glad to see people liked the park. Sorry folks, but there's almost no chance I'm going to return to RCT. NL owns it completely, with better physics, a better editor, better graphics, and allowing me to ride my creations. However, I'm telling you now-if I actually do come back, which won't happen, finishing this will be my first project. However, I don't see that happening, especially with RCT2 coming out soon, which I'm not going to buy (but then again, I said that about the original RCT, I mean it this time.) So consider this my fourth (and most likely final) retirement announcement.

To me, NL and RCT work together at the same time and can't be separated, and I release coasters in both RCT and NL versions. That is, bundling NL versions of RCT park coasters.

RCT pros:
-Big ability to theming
-Ability to include multiple coasters in a park

RCT cons:
-Realism of coasters
-No "ride your coasters"

NoLimits pros:
-"Ride your coasters"
-Realism of coasters

NoLimits cons:
-Very hard to theme
-1 park per land

Welcome to NoLimits, but don't leave RCT! Try making NL versions of your coasters in this park.
