I've heard it's best to go on a weekday if possible. Apparently, the park (like many do) gets very crowded on weekends, especially if there's a concert or event at that time. We went on a Tuesday and there were no lines hardly anywhere! It was literally a run up the queue lane and hop into which ever seat you wanted for whichever ride you chose! The only line we hit was for the Tasmanian River Rapids, and I think that was all of a three minute wait. It was boiling hot that day, so everyone who was there headed for the water rides.
The park is a little awkward to access. It's about 4 miles from the exit on I-75 and down a two lane road. The closest hotels are about 6 miles away, on the next exit north of the park exit. The parking lots are actually rather close to the park gates so parking is not much of an issue.
This is a family geared park and thus, the better rides are pretty deep into the park. You have to get through the Bugsville section (which is just adorable!) to access the rest of the park. The Bug Out (located in Bugsville) is a standard Wild Mouse, but very fun! I did find the entrance to be odd (rather hidden from view at first glance). The Boomerang was smooth and fast! Though later in the evening it did make strange banging sounds before it released the cars for the second backwards run. Just added to the fright quotient of the ride.
The Cheetah is very fun, if somewhat short. Pretty decent airtime though, and the turn around banked curve is great! Look to your right as you climb the hill, and you'll get a great view of the elephants and giraffes roaming areas... The theming for Cheetah wasn't completed when we went, so hopfully it will look better when you get there. The Hangman (Vekoma SLC) was great!! Very smooth and with a great view below as you crest the lift hill. I think I rode it about a dozen times that day, if not more.
I didn't ride the Double Shot so I can't comment on it. And Blackfoot Falls wasn't running that day either. They do have a nice amount of flat rides throughout the park, though I pretty much avoided them in favor of the coasters.
Overall, the park is nice. The staff was very helpful and nice. It could really use some better concession areas though. The food service, while friendly, was lacking in quality, though my husband reports the funnel cakes were great... But there are practically no vegetarian options to be found if that's what you need. Hopefully, the food quality will improve over time though. It's really the park's only glaring negative quality...
Hope you have fun there. I'd love to be there for the Christmas celebration, but I don't think that's going to happen this year. Warning... the crowds are ridiculously huge for the light shows (that darn two lane highway leading to the park doesn't help matters either) so plan your day accordingly.
Oh, and the wonderful thing about Wild Adventures, their ticket prices are already low, but you can also have your ticket validated before you leave the park for a second day FREE. You do have to use the validated pass within seven days of your initial visit, but still! It's a great deal IMHO...
