| SFGAdv - 27 October 2001 Decided to make a trip up the Six Flags, for the first time in about two years. It was a so-so trip, and now to the details...
Got there about 12:30, and paid to get in. Now i dunno if we picked a different ticket taker or it was this for everyone, but me and my two friends only paid $25 to get in. Not too bad at all as I was prepared to pay $35. Maybe we went to the group discount ticket, I dont know, but its there loss.
We then headed for Medusa.
I went on this it opened in 99' and I thought it was alotta fun, and this time was no different. Walk on, waited 5 mins total. Got some unexpected air comin off the break run, which added to my enjoyment, and was overall a great ride. No floor = tons of fun. 9/10
Then after gettin lost in Bugs Bunny Land, we did Scream Machine.
Boy did that suck, and needless to say, it was the only time we did that during the day. I felt like I was gonna black out during those double loops. On the upside, got some hang time during the watchmacallit before the corkscrews (sorry..tired..cant remember)and we only waited 5 mins to get on.
Then lunch which cost me $10 for a burger, fries, and a drink. Rediculous.
After lunch we did the pirate boat, and I began to notice the gray clouds moving in. With this in mind, I conned my friends into doing Nitro, which was really the main reason I was here.
Nitro, boy was it cold on that thing. Now after high praise from many people on this board, I came to expect a great ridem which it did not dissapoint. Some pretty good air, and good speed, but in my unbiased opinion, I thought Millennium Force was still better. Dont get me wrong, it is a fantastic ride, but doent top the Force on my list. Waited about an hour to an hour and a half. 9.5/10
Then we waited a good 1/2 hour or so for the bumper cars, which was a total waste. We then headed over to Elvira, the motion sim. Im not really a big fan of these, but it was ok. After getting a funnel cake, we decided to do Rolling Thunder.
Nothing really special at all, got the front seat. Got a little air, but it hurt so much banging my knees agaisnt the metal lapbar. I actually kinda liked it other than that, and I dont know why people hate it so much. It would be a lot better if it raced though. 7.5/10
We then did some spinny flat ride, and then hit Medusa again waiting about an hour again (though we had alotta fun with the flagrent line cutters in line, hopefully theyll think twice after hearin some of the thigns we and the ppl behins us said, some funny stuff...no security guards arounf though).
Then we did Skull Mountain, about a 15-30 min. wait. It was ok, im not a big fan of this though, IMO you kinda jsut go in a circle and twist, but it seemed kinda fast, and a lil outta control, so id say 6.5/10.
We were comtemplating doing the hayride, but Nitro called us. The line was jsut as long, but luckily we had a decent conversation with a couple of hot girls in front of us which passed the time, and it was worth it, its alot more fun at night.
Misses:
Batman the Ride (line looked too long)
Chiller (ditto)
Freefall (again, long line)
I woulda liked to do them, but only a limited amount of time. Crowd was kinda large, but i really dont mind, with the friends, you find ways of passin time/meetin new ppl. SFGadv isnt my fav park, its got some problems (crowd, line cutters) but overall, this trip changed my views, and i might hafta go back next summer.
Thanks for readin
later
