SFMM in Feb 2002

I am hoping to make it out to SFMM for the first time in early Feb 2002. Can anyone tell me what to expect as far as weather and crowds at this time of the year? Also, is there any hope of X being open by then? Any suggestions would help me greatly.

X should be open by then, since the big thing going around is saying it's going to have media day on the 19th of December. The weather shouldn't be too bad and crowds should be moderate. I'd go to X, Deja Vu, Riddler, Batman, Goliath, and then work my way around to the other rides, if you want to hit all the coasters in a day.

X should definitely be open by then unless something goes drastically wrong this month. I just went to MM, check out my trip report here: http://www.coasterforum.com/boards/s...threadid=14357

Here are a few tips that might help you:
1) Get there when it opens at 10:00 AM. You can walk onto some of the best rides in the world if you get there on time. And the mad scramble around the mountain to get to your ride of preference is not to be missed.

2) Do Deja Vu early. I did it at lunch hour and didn't have too bad of a wait, but it could have been much, much worse. The ride takes forever to load and unload, hence the resurrection of the nickname "Delayja Vu." The ride is not to be missed though. Simply awesome, be sure to ride it!

3) Don't forget about the Orient Express. It's a little train that has one station next to Revolution and the other at the top of the mountain on Samurai Summit. The Orient Express can save you a lot of time and energy (walking the mountain multiple times can tire you out!). And if you take the OE to the top first thing in the morning, you can ride S:TE as a walk-on (provided the weather is right, see my TR).

4) Ride Riddler's Revenge in the front row. It really enhances the experience. It's a great ride, but to enjoy it in all its splendor, wait the extra minutes and ride the front. It is a truly incredible roller coaster.

Have a great trip!

Not really. I went at about 3:00 on probably the busiest day of the year. We did all the coasters and some twice. No promises, but you should be able to do SFMM in a short time.
