| SFOT 5/17 --OR-- How to Hit SFoT Just Right --OR-- My New #1! Well, what a title that was, and it's all right here. Yes, from 10:30 to 8:00 on May 17 I hit the original Six Flags park, and yes, I figured out the perfect SFoT trip, and yes, I have a new #1 coaster! Ok, well, I'd better start... at the beginning. (the rides listed are in the exact order we rode them.... don't question our ride-order motives... lol)
TEXAS GIANT
Wait Time: 20 Minutes
Rating: 7/10
After last October's "perfect" ride on TG, I had high expectations. However, I was let down. Once a 9/10, it was then an 8. It seemed to be crawling through the course. I just couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. Well, it dropped to #4 on my Top Five.
MR.FREEZE
Wait Time: 50 Minutes
Rating: 9/10
Beautiful, lap-bar-less Mr. Freeze. We got in line, and I immediately noticed it was a long wait. However, as we went through the line, it moved unbearably slow- even worse than I'd thought. THey were only running one train, so that slowed the line very much. The best part of MF was agging on a friend who'd never ridden Freeze. She loved it, and I did to! Wow- this is such an incredible ride. #3 on my all time list (then....)
BATMAN: THE RIDE
Wait Time: 20 Minutes
Rating: 9/10
This was a new experience for me, as I could never recollect sitting on the left side. It made a difference. Intense and awesome, but just as short as it always is.
MINE TRAIN
Wait Time: 5 Minutes
Rating: 6/10
Took a back row trip on this little gem. As good as it always is.
JUDGE ROY SCREAM
Wait Time: 10 Minutes
Rating: 7/10
I forgot how good this ride is! Fun drops, great airtime, and a good heachopper at the end. I laughed throughout the entire course!
LOG FLUME (Ozarka Splash?)
Wait Time: 5 Minutes
Rating: 5/10
Boy, is this one boring ride. Oh well- with some friends around, it can get fun.
Lunch: Gator McGee Grill
Wait Time: 10 Minutes
Rating: 7/10
Love the burgers, dislike the fries.
SHOCKWAVE (Two in back row, One in front)
Wait Time: No Wait
Rating: 7/10
This ride is a classic, and I love it. The back row has good airtime on the ending drops, while the front has good air on some strange places. They're two different rides, but both are awesome.
ROARING RAPIDS
Wait: 5 Minutes
Rating: 5/10
I hate water rides. I got soaked, and it was getting cold. Plus, the ride isn't all that great...
SOMBRERO
Wait Time: 5 Minutes
Rating: 5/10
It was open! I think... this is a Chance Trabant, but I really don't know. It wasn't as good as I remembered, but it was still fun.
TITAN
Wait Time: 20 Minutes
Rating: 9/10
What was wrong with Titan? It seemed... slow. I wasn't as impressed as usual. Perhaps it was my front-row ride. I really need to ride the back row on this. The front row left much to be desired. The best parts were the bunny hill and the drop after the mid-course brakes. (I really should have hit the back)
BATMAN: THE RIDE (Two rides)
Wait Time: None
Rating: 9/10
Got to ride with a couple of first-timers from Arkansas. They screamed the whole way, and loved it!
SHOCKWAVE
Wait Time: None
Rating: 7/10
And yet, ANOTHER first timer! She closed her eyes the whole time... she was so scared. I tried to tell her it's less scary if you open them, but... well, we're not all enthusiasts, now, are we?
TEXAS GIANT
Wait Time: None
Rating: 10/10
Perfection at its finest. This was my new #1 coaster.
TG was running EXTREMELY FAST, EXTREMELY WILD, and FULL of EXTREME AIRTIME. Oh, it was incredible! A night ride on TG is what differenciates a TRIP between a DESTINATION. Wow!!!!
CONQUISTADOR
Wait Time: None
Rating: 6/10
A well-themed swinging ship. Got to ride back row. Gotta love it.
Overall, a great trip... a GREAT trip.
Oh yeah, how to hit SFoT just right!

Best Time To Visit: Midweeks in Early June
Best Time to Arrive: 9:30-9:45
First, take a right once they let you in the park. Be sure to get a map if you're a first-timer. Once the park "officially" opens, dash to Gotham City.
Get 2-3 Freeze rides. (Ride front and back)
Get 2-3 Batman rides.
Ride Flashback for the coaster count.
Get 2-3 Judge Roy Scream rides. (Back row is better)
Run Over To Texas/Spain. Hit the Mine Trains (Back row is better) and Shockwave (Front or Back, just ride once) on your way.
Ride Texas Giant, back row. (don't worry- it WILL get better. If there's a wait, wait it out. TRUST me)
Ride the Log Flume.
Hit Spain/Mexico. Ride what isn't crowded.
SOMEHOW find France. Hit Roaring Rapids, Runaway Mountain (Back row), and snag a bite at Gator McGee's Grill.
Hit some small rides or play some games.
Hit Titan if the line is short.
Hit any ride you want to ride more than you did earlier.
Around 6:30, head to Titan/Texas Giant. Spend the rest of your day there. Short lines, and INCREDEIBLE experiences. Be sure to get a nighttime, back-row journey on TG. You'll see the difference from morning! If you get tired, ride some stuff in Spain or the log flume.
That sounds like a great day. I might be there June 6th.
(Whew... that was a long TR)
