| Hershey Park 5/18 My friend took me to Hershey Park today after I had taken him to Six Flags. The weather forcast was rain until one, so we figured the park would be pretty empty. Could we have been more wrong? Oh and, it never rained.
I have NEVER seen this park so crowded! It was my worst trip to the park ever, although still enjoyable.
We got to the park at 10, quickly got into the park and headed to the Comet. We walked right on and had a nice ride. I give it a 7/10. We noticed that a lot of school kids were coming in, but we didnt think much of it.
We decided to skip Sooperdooperlooper, not expecting a wait later on in the day. We hit Great Bear in the back (walkon) and let me say that this was the best ride I have ever had on this coaster! It was fast, fun and disorienting! I give it an 8/10.
I was craving a good wooden roller coaster, so we headed to the far end of the park and got in line for Wildcat. There was no line, but we wanted the front seat so we had a one train wait. I dont know what did it, but this ride was running FAST! It was probably the wet rails, but this ride is tied with Pheonix for number one on my wooden roller coaster list! It was wild, had great airtime and was completely out of control! The laterals were insane and the roughness could be enjoyed. 10/10
We saw that Lightning Racers was running with pretty empty trains so we went over there and hopped on the back row of thunder. I had a terrible ride! I got absolutely no airtime, the ride seemed to be dragging along the track near the end, and I just didnt have fun. I gave it a 4/10, but decided to give it another chance because I knew how great this ride could be. This time we went on lightning and got on the front row. 1 train wait! I am glad we waited! I got intense airtime, the first drop was incredible and I saw the true spirit of Lightning Racers! I give it a 9/10, only because it too seems to go a little too slow near the ned.
After that, we headed over to Roller Soakers. There was no one in the station and the geysers werent on so we decided to ride. We got on the backwards side and had a fun ride! Let me tell you, even without the water this ride is fun. Oh and, although the geysers were off, you were still able to drop water. It scared the hell outta me! I only gave it a 6/10 because there was no water. I can definately see this geting a 8/10 with water.
We then ate Pizza at a place near Lightning Racers. It was great food, but the hot chocolate was terrible! You would expect it to be good, being at hershey park and all, but it was basically just hot water. We got them to put more cocoa in it, so it was better. At this point my friends mom headed over to chocolate world and we had 5 hours to kill. We went to the other side of the park and on the way, we were greeted by absolutely HUGE crowds. It was obvious that lines would get big, and fast.
We went to Great Bear to find a full que line. No way in hell was I going to wait that long for such a short ride. Comet also had a full que and so did Sooperdooperlooper! The midways were packed and I had trouble getting through the crowd.
My friend and I decided just to ride flat rides so we hit the following rides. The flume ride, Chaos, Falcon, Sports Cars and a big, old huss enterprise. We also went to Zoo America, and that was very enjoyable! The wolves were quite a suprise!
After we rode all that, we then went to lightning racers again because of the short line. We rode lightning in the middle, great ride and lots of airtime. We decided to head over to chocolate world, so we did and met up with my friends mom. We then got cokes, and saw the new 3-D show.
Ok this new 3-D show was terrible! Wow, could it have been more corny? It was definately NOT worth the 5 dollars. After that we took the always relaxing and wonderful chocolate tour! It smells sooooo good there.
While looking at the gift shop, I was tempted to buy a big thing of 36 full sized Fast Break candy bars! Those things are great, but I resisted.
Then we headed to the park again and found sooperdooperlooper with a short wait. We rode it in the middle! The loop gives some great forces and I just love this ride. I gave it a 7/10.
I wanted to ride Wildcat again, so we hiked back up there to find the line up to 45 minutes. The park was STILL packed so we left and had an hour and a half drive home.
Overall, it was the worst day I have ever seen at the park, but I got some great rides in. So all in all, it was a pretty good day.
