PKI, May 17. Math and Science Day.

On May 17, I went to PKI. It was math and science day. It was forcasting rain, but I was hoping it would hold off. After a hour drive from my Aunt and Uncles house north of Cincinati, and a joyride my dad took us on trying to get us to the park by following a school bus he thought was going to the park, we got there a little after 9 AM. The skyline was nice looking, SOB gives one good first impression. We entered the park, and walked over to the area near Racer. Everything but the International Street section of the park was roped off until 10 AM. Right at 10, I headed for Racer.....
We got there, and we were some of the first peeps in line. We went to the front seat, and got on the front seat. (I had to talk my dad onto going in the front, wus.) We went forward. The ride was excellent. My first ride since August, and my 23rd coaster on my CoasterCount. This ride blew my expectations. Very fast, the first drop was suprisingly good, and the ride was FILLED with airtime. 8/10
After Racer, I headed over to Vortex. My dad doesn't ride looping coasters, so I rode this by myself. The wait was about 20-25 minutes, which is way more than I expected for 10:15 AM. This was a very good ride, again, passing my expectations. The drop was excellent, the loops were intense, the corkscrews were awesome, and the Boomarang(my first boomarang/batwing inversion ever BTW) was great. Unlike most Arrow loopers, this was comparitively smooth and had very little headbanging. 8/10
Now, it's time for THE BEAST! This was to become the 25th coaster I've ever ridden. The line was longer than I expected, about 45 minutes. By now, the park had become PACKED with schools and stuff for Math And Science day. I got in the ride. As soon as the ride started, the rain sprikleth. Not to bad, fourtunately. The ride went VERY slowly up the lift. As it reached the top, it suddenly sped up, and off I was. That first drop is incredible. You dive into that tiny little tunnel, and, at a rediculous speed, it flys out of the tunnel and through the first half of the ride. Non-stop momentum. Up the second lift, I got a nice view of the park. The train slowly, eerily, creeped around the turn. Diving down that hill, constantly picking up speed, was great. All of a sudden, you just dive into the tunnel. The double helix was undescribable. Insane speed, great lats. As an example of how good this was, I couldn't even keep my feet flat on the floor. That's how fast and intense it was. It pulled into the breaks, and boy was I pumped. My 25th coaster ever, and this ride was worth being the one to hit the milestone. The only problem I had was getting banged into the side of the train a little hard for my ribs on that section between the first tunnel and the MCBR. 9.75/10
Time for Flight of Fear. The line didn't seem too bad. It started raining a little bit, and I jumped in line. Well, the line OUTSIDE the building was like 45 minutes. It barely even moved. The capacity was horrible on that ride. I got to the building, and it said 1 hour from there. I didn't belive it, because it said 1 hour for Vortex and it was only 25 minutes. Well, I ended up waiting alot longer than an hour. The line was terrible. It barely even moved the whole time. My legs were in such pain. Finally, after 2 and a half hours of misery, I got on. The launch was amazing. This was my first launched coaster, and it was great. The launch was so intense, and, for the first time, I experienced inversions without OTSR's!
Ride if the lines were reasonable: 7.5/10. Because of the lines: 2.75/10. To ad to my misery, I got off the ride, only to find the rain pouring, and to find that I spent 1/4 of the entire time I would have there in line for that stinkin' ride.
Now, time to eat. I'm wet, I'm mad about the FOF line, I'm not in a happy time right now. The park is packed, and it's raining. The 2 things that you worry about at a park had happened to me. I got some pizza, and it was good. Unfourtunately, I left my retainer case in the car, so I had to put my retainer on my plate. I finished my pizza, and my dad tossed out the garbage. We head to Drop Zone, and I realize that I left my retainer ON MY PLATE!!!!!! We ran to the trash can, fearing the worst. I thought my day had been totaly ruined. Luckily, my dad put the plate in right side up, and nothing was put on top of it. My retainer was saved . I went to a bathroom, washed it off, and headed to Drop Zone. I waited 45 minutes, only to have it break down. I got out of line, thinking that the coaster gods had frowned on me. lol. I was not having a good early afternoon. Time for Son of Beast:
This was the turning point of my day. I only waited 30 min. for this, though waiting in line when you're wet, miserible, and sore is not fun. I got on it, and the trains were quite uncomfortable, but who really cares. The ride was great! The first drop was awesome, and the double helix was fantastic. The loop was crazy too. I really liked it. 8.5/10.
As I got off SOB, I noticed that the park wasn't nearly as crowded. The line for SOB had gotten up to the station! Most of the peeps had left because of the rain! And, now, the rain had lightened up some! Although I was still all wet... Time for Top Gun. I barely even waited. There were only like 15-20 peeps in line for it! It was a fun ride, much better than Draggin' Iron, but not quite as good as Big Bad Wolf. 7/10
Time to Face/Off. The line was very short, but, due to terrible capacity, I waited 20 min. I rode forward. This was very, very, fun. Well, compared to what I expected. The G's were absolutely crazy, and I enjoyed every minute of it. I love staring down 130' hanging from the OSTR's . 7.5/10
Adventure Express is next. I had low expectations, since the only mine train I rode before was CCMR at CP. There were like 5 peeps in line for this, lol, and I rode the front. I almost got to ride by myself! HAHA! This was a fun ride. The rain stung in the front seat though. 6.5/10
I headed over to Racer to ride it backwards, and it was great. I rode the "back" (which is actually the front of the train..... but it's facing backwards, so I got the seat farthest to the back let's say .) I had lots of fun.
Now, it's 15 min. before closing time. I head to Beast as fast as I can for one last ride. Lucky for me, there was NO wait. It wasn't running as good as earlier though... . I got off, and there were 2 peeps in line. The ops said we could all get back on, and ride the last ride of the day. So I got 2 rides in a row on my favorite wooden roller coaster.
Over all, I had a great start of the day, and terrible middle, and a great end. I wish they hadn't closed at 6 though. I didn't get to go on TR:TR or Drop Zone either . I had a fun time overall.

Glad you got to go to PKI. I was supposed to go on one of the math and science days, but our teacher couldn't take us cause we had too many things going on then. I really wish I could have gone. O well, at least you had fun.
