Where to Stay

I'll be attending Coastercon. The host hotel is the Warner Center Marriott. Can anyone recommend other hotels that may are closer to the both Knotts Berry and Magic Mountain? I'm not familiar with LA so if there is somewhere I should absolutely avoid please let me know.
