| Sfaw 5-25-02 Today I went to Astroworld with a friend. Unfortunately, it was a Saturday, and I hate going to an amuement park on saturdays. but anyway, lets start from the beginning.
I was sorta scared as we drove up to find a line of cars waiting to get into the parking lot. We parked, and my friend's mom told us to meet his sister and her at the front gate at 2:30. So, we get inside and head directly to the Texas Cyclone. There was a moderate wait, something like 10 or 20 minutes, and we were on. We rode near the back, and of course it was absolutely great. But he didnt want a repeat ride on it, so we went to Batman. Actually, that was a smart choice on his part, considering we didnt get t o the park until it had been open for an hour and it was going to get really crowded really fast very soon. We got one ride in the front of that after a 5 minute wait. Unfortunately, we had to wait for some of those danged fastlane people, and we awanted to strangle them. I had just explained to my friend what fastlane was, and after he experienced it first hand, he hated it too. (Score one for us!) It was much faster than the last time I had been on it, and I liked that. He had gone last weekend, and he agreed that it was better this weekend. Then I went to Greezed Lightnin. He didnt want to go on it, though I tried to convince him. Oh well, maybe some other time. I went on it twice. One time I rode near the bakc next to some anti-social guy. Then I went back around and got in the very back and rode with a nice lady who said her ride partner had chickened out. I told her same here, and we had a nice conversation going before we launched. During both rides, i made that sign rock bands make with thier hands. You know, thumb out, index and pinky up, the rest down. I asked my friend if he saw, and he said yes. That was cool. Anyway we then went and rode Warp 2000, a Troika. It wasnt running well today. Really slow and boring. So we then went and played some arcade stuff and then ate lunch at a pizza place. I always go there, it has the best pizza in the park. Then we went and played some "rigged carni games"(courtosey of my friend) and then rode Texas Cyclone one last time, this time 3rd row from the front. Not as good as the back, but still excellent. Overall, it was a good day for a Saturday and the time we had at the park. I rate the day an 8/10. |
