Squirrel!

More on squirrel later, this is my TR for Holiday World on Memorial Day:
TR:Get to the park at 12:30 P.M. after a 2 and 1/2 hour drive from the Patton Museum (first thing that day). Paid $21 dollars for 3 people, Heroes Day gave my uncle 2 free tickets. First up, Raven. Shorter line than what it looked like it would be cause the lots were full, hop on the middle of train. I'll go into detail in my ride reviews, but for now, I was confused after the first ride. It was a quick ride and all I could really remember was the tunnel. I thought to myself,"What just happened?" Next was Frightful Falls log flume. Pretty good log flume, I got wetter than on any log flume I remember, even Splash Mountain. Then, we hit Legend. Back seat first, a little better than okay, but not great. Rode again, front seat, WHOA! Great lats and a couple nice pops of air throughout. More later. Next was Louis and Clark Trail? Antique Autos. Nice ride, long enough not too long, my uncle needed a quick break. After that we rode Paul Revere's Midnight Run/ Spider. Took a while to load, spun pretty well. Headed over to the train, I got put into the small cars, cramped and hard to see, nice engineer though. After that we rode Raging Rapids, good length but didn't get very wet, nobody on our boat did. Took a quick Pepsi break, then headed over to Banshee. I forget what exactly you call this type ride, but you go in vertical rotations while the car stays upright(sorry if I confused you). Not quite as intense as the one at IB, maybe rotated a little slower than IB's, but still fun. Headed back to Raven, then I found out why it's the #1 coaster. The front seat was where I rode this time, and it was pretty good, but then came the back. AMAZING, great air and lats, and the mist makers added a little cool off. More later. Headed over to Legend, and this is where we hear about the squirrel. We rode the second row and coming down the brake run, I noticed a fuzzy little brown thing on the track, uhoh . That squirrel is no longer amongst the living . Finally, I rerode basically everything else, and well, actually got BORED! Not that the coasters were boring, the park was just kinda small, and didn't want to go to the water park, cause the lots were full and it was a very crowded water park. Great trip overall, plus today I went to Bluespring Caverns and Grissom Air Force Base/ Museum.

Ride Reviews:
Raven:
Seats Ridden: Front, 5th row, back row.
Best seat: Back row
Best part: Long drop after lake turn and short drop, BIG AIR!
Rating: 10/10, currently in a tie for first on my wooden list.
Comment: Must ride multiple times, try to do later in the day for better rides.
Great ride from the front and middle, amazing from the back. Great moments of air and lateral g's, the mist effect is an added feature. Great ride ops and could be just a tad bit longer, but still great.

Legend:
Seats: Front, Back, Second Row.
Best Seat: Front
Best part: Helix section and first half of double up, AIR!
Rating: 10/10, but still not first with Raven and Cornball Express.
Comment: Best lat's in the world, could use just a bit more air.
The front seat is an absolute must. It is amazing, hanging over the first drop then suddenly you come plunging down, glasses stuck to your face, go between some slides with some minor air, hit the double up and get great air. Helix section great with tunnels. Couple more good turns with good lat's, and a brake run with a dead squirrel on it .

Frighful Falls:
Seats: Front
Best Seat: Front
Best part: Big drop
Rating: 8/10
Comment: Good log flume. Not the longest, yet not to short. Head through some dark tunnels, a couple moments with a light splash. Then comes the drop. Fun steep drop and a very wet one, wettest I've been on. Great fun.

Lewis and Clark Trail/Antque Autos:
Best Part(s): Hey, I can drive , bridge.
Rating: 7/10
Comment: Nice car ride, good length. Nice bridge over walkway. Good break from some other rides.

Paul Revere's Midnight Run/Spider:
Best Part: Spinning
Rating: 6/10
Comment: Your average Spider. Spun pretty well.

Train(forgot it's name):
Best part: Mother Goose rhymes
Rating: 5/10
Comment: Got squeezed in the small part, hard to see. Only original ride in the park, kinda fun.

Raging Rapids:
Best part(s): Tunnels, geisers.
Rating: 7/10
Comment: I wanted to get wet, Frightful Falls from the front was twice as wet. Fun, good length, needs waterfalls.

Banshee:
Best pair: Stomach in your throat feeling.
Rating:5/10
Comment: Kinda fun, but not very intense. Not as much air as other rides of the type.

Overall:
Coasters: 10/10, quality over quantity, two great woodies, didn't ride kiddie coaster.
Flat Rides: 6/10, not impressed, not that good.
Water Rides: 8/10, two quality water rides.
Employees: 10/10, extremely freindly, great at having fun.
Food: 8/10, didn't have much, but free pop and good taffy are always great.
Overall: 8/10, not big enough, two great coasters, great employees, extremly clean, but I only spent 4 and 1/2 hours there.

About the squirrel, a similar thing happened on Gwazi one day. I was waiting in line and right behind the train in the station was a squirrel on the wooden track. There was a train on the brake run about to go into the station. Well, the train in the station dispatched and the one on the brake run came slowly rolling in. The squirrel jumped out of the way just in time to avoid what would've been a bizarre and gruesome death of being crushed by a large train going 5 mph. That could've been a bad site...
