SFGAm 6-6-02 and 6-9-02 (2 posts)

Hows it going everyone? I'm ranking the rides a little bit different. Since I don't want to give a coaster a flat out rating I'm just going to rank them from 1-11 based on the coasters at SFGAm. A rating of 1 is my favorite coaster there, a rating of 11 is my least favorite coaster. I think you get my drift. And yes it includes Spacely's Sprocket Rockets (and no SSR is not #11!)

6-6-02
After the last day of finals my friends and I decided to celebrate with a trip to SFGAm.

First off when we arrived we needed to take season picture photos for my friends, I already had mine. So while they waited for 15 minutes, I had some pizza! It was good too!

The first thing we noticed was that Deja Vu was not running so we headed over to the Viper. The wait was 30-40 minutes, most of it coming in the station as usual. That thing is packed. Not wanting to wait forever in the station we waited somewhere in the middle-to-back. Anyways, I'm not the biggest wood coaster fan, but this is still a very good ride. Not the biggest, fastest, or longest but still tons of airtime and I love the layout
Rating: 5

Coming off we noticed Deja Vu was now up and running but decided to wait until the night for shorter lines rather than waiting 2 hours. Instead, we went to the American Eagle. The wait was just 20 minutes. Again we sat somewhere in the middle. We went on the blue side, the backwards side. I like this much better than going forwards. Even though the layout is pretty simple you still get the feeling of not knowing where you are going and the drop is definitly an odd feeling.
Rating: 4

We then moved onto V2. The line was much shorter than it was before since Deja Vu was now open. Probably a half hour. We sat in the 2nd to last row. I still love this ride. It is short and there is not much to it but it's such a rush from the launch until the hold on the straight tower.
Rating: 2

It was scorching now so we took a nice ride on Roaring Rapids. Since my group was a group of 3, I sat next to a girl who ran away to another seat right when I sat down. lol! I showed her though as my seat was really the only one soaked out of everyone.

Getting close to dinner time we rode some nice relaxing rides. We played some games and I won a Scooby. yeah! We rode the Condor a spinny ride that moves up and down the pole. Then I found out my friend had never been on the Whizzer. We couldn't let that stand so we went there. The wait was 15 minutes and it was nice and relaxing. A nice ride if you've got a girlfriend for obvious reasons. My rating might seem high but thats because this ride doesn't bang your head all over the place.
Rating: 8

Then it was time for dinner. We went to Subway accros the street. I had a footlong tuna sub just incase you were wondering.

Back to the park. We went to Deja Vu. The line was still pretty long so we decided to kill some time on the Demon. The line was 5 minutes at the most. There's not really much to like about this. The drop is ok but the rest is pretty boring. Not to mention this ride is starting to hurt the head too.

Finally time for Deja Vu. The moment we had all been waiting for. The line was pretty short compared to the rest of the day and we were planning to go to Raging Bull afterwards but that plan soon turned towards the worst. The wait was about 45 minutes but as soon as we were next in line, and I mean next in line, it shut down. The extra wait was at least a half hour. But finally it opened, everyone cheered and we became the test dummies. I can tell you this is the best ride in the park by far! Its just great. The first drop straight down after hanging from your harness knowing if it somehow comes loose you are a goner is a great rush. The speed coming down from the drop is surprisingly very fast. It didn't seem fast watching it but it feels very fast. From there it is just one big disorienting trip from boomerang to loop to looking straight up and dropping again, backwards loop, backwards boomerang and finally slowly being pulled back down while hanging on the harness again. When you come back you have to ask yourself where you are and what your name is just to make sure nothing got lost during that trip. It is very disorienting. I just can't get enough of this ride.
Rating: 1!

Stay tune for my trip report from 6-9-02, where I went on some of the other rides. Thanks for reading!
