| Hershey Park 6/12/02 Well, before we get started, I need to inform you of a change. If you read my post under travel tips, my Dad was going to ride with me, but at the last minute he was told he had an important meeting so he couldnt go. So my girlfriend Shelby went. We started our 4 hour drive by picking up Shelby and dropping off my puppy at my grandma's. After a 2 1/2 hour drive, we stopped in the "town of motels" and "the traveler's oasis", Breezewood, PA. We ate at Bob Evan's and got back on the road. At 5:30 we arrived at my aunt's house about 5 minutes from the park. She took my mom, shelby and I to dinner at applebee's. We got home in time to watch the Indian's beat the Phillies 5-0 at my aunt's. My aunt got us tickets from Giant, a local super market, so she gave them to us. At around 11:30, everyone went to bed. Now, if you think my mom and aunt wouldn't let two new high school freshmen sleep together would you? Well, you're wrong, me and Shelby slept in the same bed but nothing heppened. Around 8:45 we got up, took showers, ate breakfast and at 10:03, my mom was taking Shelby and I to Hershey Park. She dropped us off and we began our day. My aunt and mom went shopping all day and would pick us up at 10:00 that evening.
To start off our day, we rode the Comet. About a 10 minute wait because people love to ride this first. This was my first coaster of the year and i loved it. Shelby went bathroom so I bought a coke and we then went over to SooperDooperLooper. A walk-on as usual, rode it twice. We were going to ride the coal cracker next, but it was broken down. So, we went on the Great Bear. This is the ride I was excited to get back on this year so I was pumped. About a 15 minute wait with most people in line at the 8th grade picnic for Hershey middle school. We sat in the 4th row in the 2 middle seats. This ride is addictively fun. We then rode the falcon, "Kissing" Tower, and Antique Car ride vefore we would head on. We saw the coal cracker was back open so we rode that twice.
We moved on and did the skyway, wave swinger, and monorail. we were at the halfway point of the park, so we knew we needed to go to Chocolate World. It was only about 12:15, so crowds weren't big. We did the "factory" tour. We got high fromt the smell of chocolate and rode it several times to make really stupid on-ride photos. We then did the 3-D show which was worth the $5. We took glasses from it and put them on in the on-ride photo on the tour(I can recall someone on here did that somewhere and they weren't allowed to buy it). I'd scan it onto here but I let Shelby have the picture. We then spent awhile eating freakin awesome Hershey's ice cream. We went back in the park for more and more coasters. We started off by riding a walk-on Wildcat 6 times and a less than 3 train wait for Lighning Racer. Both are still freakin awesome. Niow, here comes the reason I told Shelby she should wear a white t-shirt because it's so hot out. We went over tho the roller soaker and saw it was a long wait. But, we waited it out. People were making jokes saying the line was the scariest part of the ride. And it was, before we got in the freking queve house, we were soaked head to toe, including Shelby's white t-shirt(YEAH!!!). In the queve house people said they wouldn't be suprised if water can out of the ceiling. The ride itself would've reeked of gayness it if wasn't for the line and the water. overall, there was a 40 minute wait(about 10 minute wait if the friggin Hershey MS wasnt there bouncing friggin basketballs). Next was a wlk-on fest for Tidal Force. Still awesome. After 15 rides, me and Shelby were freezing so we dryed off on the awesome rides. Wild Mouse sucks, Trailblazer does too, and Shelby can't go backwards at high speeds or she'll blow chunks so Sidewinder was out. We saw those friggin basketball humpers from Hershey Middle School were leaving and people were also leaving and it was only 6!!!! We rode the Great Bear 7 times, Comet 10 times, SDL 6 times, Lightning Racer 7 times, Wildcat 5 times, and Roller Soaker 21 times(we rode that last because it was wal-on after walk-on). We then put on dry clothes and watched the laser show. Wow, that was a touching moment. It was a hockey night at hershey park if you know what i mean. We went to the front of the parking lot, my mom was there so we left and drove thru Wendy's. Wow what a day. I'm going to Kennywood with Sheby, my best friend Danny, and his girlfriend Caitlynn next week. I'll do a TR then. See you then.
