Two Days at SFoT; One at Magic Springs (Part One)

Well, I'm running short of time so I'm going to make this TR brief! I spent two days at Six Flags Over Texas, getting in some great rides, and a day at the uncrowded Magic Springs in Hot Springs, Arkansas.

SFoT- 6/5 & 6/6
Wednesday was by far the best experience I've ever had at SFoT. The crowds were nowhere- as I walked down the midway at Splashwater/Theater there was NOBODY- LITERALLY!- it was awesome!

I rode every single roller coaster in the park, and Titan and Giant are now tied for my #1 spot. I was hit my speeding bullets... er... rain on Titan, and Giant was running exceptionally fast!

I also realized never ever to ride that idiotic bobsled. It's rough, boring, and slow. SFoT- please tear it down and add a good flat or two- possible a Roller Soaker/type ride.

With me were my Aunt and Grandmother, who hadn't been there in over 25 years! Runaway Mountain was their favorite ride (btw-the best seat is in the front-). They were hilariously surprised by the secret drop on the Mine Train! They left laughing and smiling, and I think we all might go back later in the year.

The only downside was a ridiculous hour wait on Mr. Freeze. The ops would let a group of people in the station, wait till EVERYONE rode, even if the last train only had 5 people on it, and THEN they'd let another group in! It was terrible! I mentioned to the couple in front of me how pathetic that was. They agreed. However, Freeze now has (as I understand) both trains, so the line might be shorter.

Overall, a great day, and I couldn't wait till Thursday.

SFoT- 6/6

This time I was with a church group, and I expected to be the crowds heavier, but not much.

They were.

It really wasn't that crowded, but compared to yesterday, it seemed as if the whole population of Texas had shown up.

I rode Wildcatter, the Intamin 1st Generation Freefall; I couldn't remember riding it lately. It was actually quite fun; it was very open and the drop, while short, was intense and great.

SFoT needs another freefall; perhaps an S&S double/triple shot.

I went on to get 3 incredible Titan rides (the best seat, IMO, is the last car, first row), 3 intense, mindboggling Giant trips (best seat, IMO, either last car row), 5 B:TR repeat rides (best seat, again IMO, is front row, far left), 3-4 Shockwave journeys (either very front or very back), 2 Runaway Mountain adventures (I love this little indoor gem), and some mine train trips (back is best).

I also snagged a front row trip on Mr. Freeze. Wow! It was awesome! The front is definitely the best seat.

We ate lunch at Gator McGee's Grill. They have fantastic cheeseburgers!

Before I knew it, our day was over. I enjoyed it, and I was looking forward again to Magic Springs.

You don't like the bobsled?? I got the ____ beaten out of me on that thing, but it was an experience. I acually thought it went kinda fast. Those little brake runs hurt like a mother.

Well, it wasn't really slow, but it was just rough.

And yeah- those brake runs were killers!
