Angry SFOG-Are all SF parks this bad?

Well, I had my trip to SFOG this Friday, and all I have to say is after all the good things I heard, THIS PARK SUCKED!Crappy food, overpriced rides, and just an all out nasty park makes this one of the worst park experiences ever.Good rides, bad everything else.
The day started out with my Dad and I driving 3 hours to Atlanta to pick up my friend who just moved there.A 15 minute ride to the park was over quickly. When I first saw the park, I was impressed.I had no idea what the rest of the day would be like, though.Since I only got 10- rides, I'll tell you each one with a rating. Two storms in one day.

The first ride of the day was the Mind Bender. We went straight to it, so the line was short. The front had a very short line, so we went straight there. After being stuck for 5 minutes on the lift, we started moving again. The lift stopped again at the top, but the train barely made it over, which was very scary. After that, this was a smooth great ride.Nice G's, and a nice use of the land. The coaster still only has two loops, though.9/10

The next ride would've been Deja Vu, but the thing was closed for the third day in a row.I was sooo looking forward to it too. A 0/10 for SF's work to reopen it.

After that, we hit Batman since it was soo close.this were to be my first Batman Clone. The theming really sucked.Just a bunch of garbage. The ride itself was very fun and didn't have a wait, but I don't know why people think it's better then Alpie.7/10I can't put a smiley here.

The next ride was S:UF.After a 5 minute waait, we hit the middle. This ride was very smooth and comfortable.A little short, but the real prob. is that there are almost no forces of it.Still very great, though.BGW worthy.8/10

The next ride was the GASM.This was a very fun woodie.A little rough, and a horrible line, but this was still a very great ride.I love the location.Needs more left turns, though.7/10

After that, Acrophobia was the one to show me what it had.I had heard sooo much good about this ride, I was excited.Once the 40 minute wait was over, I sat down, and was impressed by how comfy the seats were. The ride up was also very nice.I didn't even notice the 15 Degree lean over, though. The drop was fun, but the stop HURT my thighs.I didn't hurt my ____ at all, but It's not much better then a Giant Drop if it's any.6/10

Next was the Georgia Cyclone.I really wanted to experience the Coney Island Cyclone for a while, so this was the closest I could get.The wait wasn't too bad, and once again, we walked right on to the front. It was a little rough on the bottom of the hills, but a very fun and great ride.7/10

We ate for a while and then walked over to the Georgia Schorcher. This was just a normal B&M stand up.It was fun, but a little rough at some points. Also a little boring. This was a walk on.6/10

Next, we went to FreeFall.Just like Deja Vu, it was closed.I wanted to ride it sooo bad. There were people in the Station, but they were just listening to head phones.Once again, a 0/10 to SF for not even trying.

After that, we walked over to the Virtual Reality ride.Very weird and fun, but not worth 5$.It was raining now, so we got out of the rain atleast.5/10

After that was to be another ride on S:UF, but this is why I am soo at SF.It was storming, so we were hoping the line for S:UF would be short and so we could wait for it to reopen. The storm ended quickly, but it was 30 minutes later that they started testing it.After we got into the front line, guess what?It stormed again.this time for an hour.Atleast we were in the station, but it was once again 30 min. til they were testing again. After it open again, it broke 3 times in a row in 1 hour.I was late to meet someone, so I had to leave. After 3 1/2 hours of waiting in the park's own private hell, I never got on it.I will never forgive SF for their lousy work on this ride. All the other rides were already testing. After 3o minutes, it was working.SF GETS A -2/10 for this.

After that, my Dad said a few more rides til we leave. So, Iwent on Ninja really fast.A great design, but the restraints hurt.Lap bars couldn't work either cause I could touch supports with the OTSHs on.It was also very rough and wobly. Not really fun either. A 4/10

After that, I did the parachute drop. This was hort, but fun.Better then a normal observation tower by far.I could've climbed
out, though.Very low capacity, but it had a short line.A 6/10

Next, I had a choice between Mind Bender or Batman. It would've been Mind Bender, but it was broken. We got the front of Batman this time in no time at all.Just a lil better, but the rating doesn't go up.

We were heading out til we decided to look at the Ultra Zone in Gotham City. This turned out to be a Laser Tag, but was worth the 10$ for an all day pass.We had little time, so we took the 5$ deal for one game. All I have to say is, this won't be my last laser tag.We lost since it was 2 to 3, but it was very fun.Great enviornment too.Eight and a half min. isn't that bad either.8/10

After that, we got T-shirts, and then left at 6:00.All in all, I had fun but this is a very dirty and horribly maintained park.I would perfer a Paramount park over this.I may return to this SF someday, but not soon.I hope my next SF is better.

The park gets a 6/10 Go if you're in town or a few hours away. Not worth anything else. Also, 32$ for a Sky Coaster.WHOOOOOO!

Well cry us all a river. SFOG is one of the SF parks with a lot of potential, and it has been installing quite a few great attractions over the past few years. You seemed to have a decent time. SF cannot control the weather, so shut up with that complaint. Well anyway, if you feel that the park was too dirty or something (I didn't really find anything in your report that was that bad.) Then don't go back, and in fact, don't ever go to any Six Flags parks. You'll be the only one missing out.

I never said they could control the weather. They can control when the problems!letting it sit 30 min. without opening. What great rides over the past few years? They're all broken!Maybe missing out is worth it.Atleast PC can open its crappy rides. If SF has a park nearby, I'll go to it.But, these guys don't know how to do sumthin right.Don't drown in the river, because I'm putting acid in it.have fun!

I am sure after it stopped raining, they did not run the coaster for a little while for good measure. It's not like they just stood there like zombies frozen in time. They probably had a good reason to allow the track to perhaps dry up a little, or they were fixing something.

And they've gotten Deja Vu, Acrophobia, S:UF, and Georgia Scorcher, all awesome rides in my opinion. Sure Deja Vu is having problems, but that is not entirely SFOG's fault, it's Vekoma's. There have been four major attractions built in the past several years which is more than Paramount Carrowinds can say. Top Gun: TJC looks cool, but what else? Super Saturator? Ricochet? Taxi Jam?

Acrophobia and the GS are okay, but not really great. Also, SF did have some fault with Deja Vu.They should atleast fix it and stop rushing companies. And, they were zombies. They were dancing! Also, why let the track dry. And, I know PC is all messed up.

After calling PCW crappy, I have to say that it looks like you're the type of person who can't be pleased no matter how hard the park tries. We keep rides down after rain for several reasons. One is to let the track and brakes dry out, and another potential reason is to see if it rains again. So, I don't see your point. Rides are kept down for a reason: SAFETY. YOUR SAFETY.

As for as the rides being down, it happens. They aren't ill-maintained. In fact, most "breakdowns" take 10 minutes or less until trains are running again. All the Deja Vus are having major problems. It's not SF's fault although the situation sucks. The ride is just glitchy, and is having problems SF could really forsee.

Sometimes rides are closed longer, such as FreeFall. All I can say is, we are trying to reopen the ride. No one in the park wants a ride to be closed for any reason if it can be open. So yes, we are trying, but you need to understand these rides are complex machines and will have problems.

I guess you have to work at a park to really understand. Not to be cocky, but in the SF system, we're one of the better parks.

Okay, I am pleased by PC, CP, BGW, Kennywood, WDW parks, and IOA.So, don't say I'm too hard to please. And, don't get mad at me, but my saying is it's better to be sorry then safe.Otherwise, I still wouldn't be riding coasters. Also, It's either Safe, or nuthin. Listen, I enjoyed the park, and it's not your fault. But, the high up people need to take better care of the rides. Also, the employees I saw weren't doing anything.
Anyway, the case is almost always nuthin or safe. And, I've never had a day at parks WDW, IOA, or BGW where a ride was closed for a whole day.

Well, it is a ghetto park and pretty much overrated despite their attempts in catching up with the latest wave of thrill-rides. But oh well, not all parks can be Cedar Point or Magic Mountain...

Like you would know. I would bet Over Georgia is the only Six Flags property you've set foot on. And plus, don't all employees have the slightest instinct in standing up for their workplace. I don't blame you for doing so.

By taking out 2002 and 2001, Over Georgia would be sharing stories with Kentucky Kingdom rather than with anything else.

Please, no flame wars. Everyone has a right to their own opinions. SF parks are notorious for being CALLED dirty. They have been clean at times, but there are times when they seem too dirty. Your trip didn't sound THAT bad, I mean, you got to ride some great rides. Rain can make mechanical stuff act weird, so it's probably not SFoG's fault. You just caught a bad day, probably. It's not like there was a flash flood or 100 mph winds and all the coasters were damaged. I agree that $32 dollars for a SkyCoaster is extreme.

It is NOT a ghetto park.

We ARE one of the better SF parks.

I know we're not the best, but we're working on that. In fact, the park has a lot of employees who really want SFOG to be the best SF park. A lot of SF's problems have roots in the "bottom line" corporate mentality of SF Inc. something fundamental has to change.

Also, I have been on the skycoaster at SFOG for free, it's not worth whatever they charge for it what with Acro being free. (FYI I can morally opposed to upcharge attractions.)

All I can say is, kraxleRIDAH, I am glad you're not a fan of SFOG, I certainly wouldn't want you here to mess up our nice park. Have you ever been here yourself? I somehow doubt it.

Although SFOG has some great rides, from what my Uncle told me about his experience there, it was horrible. He said it was extremely dirty like people say-there is a gum wall in one queue line, now why would SF let a gum wall start?- and that the people there weren't good at all. He said on one of the rides they stopped the train on the lift and made the fattest ride op go up to check on it and they were laughing. That's just really mean.

I think that SFOG does have some nice rides, and I did have a good time, but I just excpected more. Also, I wanted to ride deja Vu as much as S:UF.I will admit that the employees aren't the nicest, but atleast they don't flick me off like some other places.cough*PAVILION*cough.Excuse me, my allergies are working up.I must go.And, I'm sorry if I offended anyone, but GASM was testing 15 min. before S:UF and Acrophobia to me wasn't that great.

Mindbender Stop

Skully,
You said that Mindbender broke down a second time at the top, but I dont think so. It is normal for it to barely inch its way over. It may be scary on your first ride, but after a few rides its fun. My friends and I pretend to push it over, and people actually believe that we are making it go!

And I understand what you are saying about the rideops. Most of them are doing a great job, but a few are bad. In parts of 2001, the Cyclone had a horrible crew. The main ride-op had his girlfriend in the little booth, and they were fooling around with the control panel causing extremely long dispatch times. I think this year things are a lot better though. Scream Machine has an incredibly fast crew (Unfortunetly I think they were away at an ACE event while you were there). Don't ever count on De'Javu being open-it is a 1 in 100 chance. I go to the park every month and have only gotten to ride it once. And that was lucky because it broke down right after I got off. I don't blame SF, but they should keep it off the commercials.

Anyway, our park it always getting better, the infamous "Gum Wall" in the Georgia Cyclone station has been cleaned up...and hopefully management will continue their efforts elsewhere. Maybe you can give SFoG another chance, and hopefully you will catch it on a good day.

Oh please. Don't even start with me. Mess up "your nice park"? What could I even possibly do to make it worse. Yeah it's one of the best parks considering there are approximately 37 in the entire chain. So when you say best, I agree with it being dab smack between #11 and #19.

And if all SFoG enthusiast employees have an attitude like yours, I sure as hell don't want to buy any corndogs or soft drinks during my visit.

Oh, and that's CUTE how all the Over Georgia employees want it to be the best park...and I want to be the president of the United States, which would be nice, but you know.

I will only return if deja Vu is open, though. It's all I haven't done. Also, the gum in the batman station does go well with the theming.
And KraxleRIDAH,I do think you're taking this too far.
