LeSourdsville Lake 8/18

This is a pretty good traditional park. It's easily the 2nd best park in Cincinnati behind PKI. It has a lot of good old classic rides, as well as some newer ones. It only costs $3 to get in and you pay-per-ride after that. We bought about 20 ride tickets when we got there and rode what we wanted to ride, then bought more tickets for re-rides after they were gone. By that time, the ride ops weren't even taking tickets, and we got on anything else we wanted to ride without giving tickets. I'll rate the rides that I rode.

Sreechin' Eagle- 9.5- this is everything that a wooden coaster should be without one thing, length. It has speed, height, and it sure has airtime. It's a short ride, but a great ride. The airtime is unbelievable. You get so much airtime. You fly out of your seat. Like someone said in an earlier post, it's the best stand-up coaster in Ohio. I loosened my seatbelt all the way and it was just great. You won't believe how much airtime this coaster has until you actually ride it. It is short. There are only about 8 hills, but all 8 of them are packed with airtime. Only one train runs too, so it's still going really fast when it hits the brakes at the end. It's short, but the airtime makes up for that. In the 20's, coasters were made short. Short, but sweet. The Crystal Beach Cyclone was only like 45 seconds of ride after the lift and that was the most intense coaster ever. Screechin Eagle is only about 50 seconds after the lift and it is one of the most airtime-filled coasters ever(it has easily the most of any coaster I've ridden). (5th favorite woodie behind Beast, SoB, Ghostrider, and Grizzly at PKD).

Serpent- 6- standard Zyklon type coaster. Nothing special. Similar to the Pinifari version at Coney Island,OH. The helixes are intense and there are some good headchoppers, but it's nothing great.

Raging River- 8.5- this is a really good log flume. You get really wet for a log flume. The hill looks small from the path, but it's actually really steep and it gets you really wet. There's also a wooden tunnel on the ride and several small surpsise drops. One of the best log flumes I've been on.

Little Dipper- 2- kiddie coaster. I was too tall, but I was allowed to ride anyway. Pretty intense for a kiddie ride. Better than Taxi Jam, but not as good as Timberline Twister(KBF).

Flying Scooters- 5- the cables are easy to snap, but this just isn't as good of a ride as the Flying Eagles at PKI. You get more air and you go faster on the PKI version.

Zipper- 5.5- fun to go upside down, but it really hurts your legs if your over 6'. Standard Zipper.

Paddle Boats- 4- standard paddle boats on a small portion of the lake. I liked the paddle boats at Coney Island more.

Overall LeSourdsville Lake is a very nice park for its size and price. It has something to offer for the whole family, including the awesome Screechin Eagle and Raging River.
