Jew Day at HersheyPark (9-24-02)

anually for the past i dont know how mnay years, there has been jew day at hersheypark. this is my fourth time going and it was a great trip! i got to the park at around 12:00 noon. in order:

sooperdooperlooper - an ok coaster, not much going on except for the loop, tunnel, and helix. only rode once. no line.

great bear - i really like this ride. i think its very underrated and dont know why its not talked about more. the helix before the drop is awesome. only rode once. line was about 15 minutes.

sidewinder - yeah, everyone has ridden one of these, a vekoma boomerang. but i love it. remember, vekoma is my second favorite company, just read my sig. wait of about 45 seconds.

lightning racer - wow!!! i love this coaster soooo much. the whole thing is fantastic!! i rode it 3 times in a row this time. waits of about 3 minutes per ride.

wildcat - much more rough than last time. it was only ok. rode once, wait was about 20 minutes with a 10 minute delay for cleaning throw up

trailblazer - an arrow mine train that i have never ridden before. it was way too short. runaway train @ sfgadv is much better. rode once, wait of 10 minutes.

wave swinger - i havent been on one of these in a while. its a yoyo type ride. i got sick, i cant handle flat rides. wait was about 5 minutes.

hersheyride - we got a free chocolate at the end

lightning racer - we rode this 5 more times with waits all under 2 minutes.

wild mouse - i have never been on one of the newer wild mice. they are awesome!!! the tight turns on top were so scary. great ride. wait of 15 minutes.

lightning racer - rode one more time. the wait was about 20 minutes because of handycap people getting on the train ahead of us and then someone threw up and they had to clean it.

sidewinder - rode one more time with no wait.

we left at around 6:45 pm

total:
lightning racer - 9x
sidewinder - 2x
great bear - 1x
sooperdooperlooper - 1x
trail blazer - 1x
wildcat - 1x
wild mouse - 1x
wave swinger - 1x
hershey ride - 1x
so 18 rides in only 6 hours and 45 minutes, great day!

EDIT - oh yeah, i forgot. roller soaker was running but the water was not. we got in line but the line looked too long for a ride that looked very boring so we got out.

i guess technically its not jew day. the park was closed for "private parties." those private parties are jewish private schools, youth groups, temples, etc, that you can buy the tickets from. sfgadv also does that in the first week of opening every year. they both do it for holidays. hersheypark does it for the holiday of sukkot and sfgadv does it for the holiday of passover. all the food stands are closed down and kosher food replaces it. its cool for jews, but i think it would suck for someone who isnt jewish.

They defenantly favor the religion. They'd make more $$$ off a Christain type day.No, I'm not Christain, but off of profits, it's confusing.

I was working that day, and I really wasn't too pleased with the way that I was treated by some of the guests. I was treated like crap just because I let a group of handicapped riders in before everyone else. obvoiusly that's my job, but I didn't need to be treated like crap for doing my job. that's just my feeling on the whole day.

i agree with you, smurf. those religious jews could be very rude and nasty. i personaly think they are a disgrace to the religion(i know its mean, but we all have our opinions), and a lot of my friends do too. i'd just like to say, whenever i go to parks, i try to be as nice as i can to the ops. btw where were you working at?

I was at the Scrambler. I agree with you about not waiting for Roller Soaker. I would have thought that the water would have been on as warm as it was. Even if the water was on, it still would have been a long wait as they can only run four cars now so the capacity would have been horrible.
