SFGAm-10/26 "this park is too crowded"

We went in a really big group that day. When everyone finally arrived at the park, we were in a group of about 15 or 16. Most of the day though we were separate smaller groups. It just doesn't work when there are that many people, just too many different opinions on what to do. The group I went with got there just after the park opened. it was my first sight seeing ShockWave having been taken down other than from pics. The cranes were there but it looks as if work has stopped for a while. There doesn't seem to have been much progress the last few weeks or so in taking it down. One problem with our trip was that later one of our friends was arriving about noon or so. The problem is he is overweight and can't ride all the coasters at the park. He has trouble with otsr's. The rides he can get on are Raging Bull,Viper,American Eagle. He can also get on Demon since there are no connecting seatbelts like on B&M loopers. He was also able to ride ShockWave when it was there. One reason it really sucked to be him since of the rides he can go on, it was one of the best and the one he liked most. It's a shame for him too since the replacement (Superman) won't be accomadating for him either most likely. Since he wasn't here yet, I figured the best idea would be to ride the coasters he can't anyway.

We went to V2, it was a walk on to the station at about 10:30 or so. We got the station and picked our rows. Just as we did, it had a minor shutdown. It launched, went up and on it's first time down, the brakes came down and stopped it. It was only down for about 5-10 minutes. It was then our time soon after, awesome ride as usual.

We then continued on with me leading the way since I'm basically their park map. We go on Iron Wolf since again, my big friend can't ride this and he's not here yet. I'm not a big fan of this ride anymore but I wanted to see the new track. It was a little rough but not as bad as the last time I rode it.

Afterthat we decided to go to Deja Vu since we had seen it was running while waiting for V2. The reason we didn't go to htis first was a sign outside said that of course it may not be running today and it was still cold since it was early. We walked around the back way and some of the people in my group had the bright idea of wanting to go American Eagle now. I thought that was stupid since the big guy can get on that and we should save it for later. Also the more time we waste, the longer the line for Deja Vu gets. American Eagle only ran backwards, I don't know if it ran forwards at all that day. American Eagle was fun as always.

When we got off of Eagle, BIG H (as we call him) was there, so there goes Deja Vu for now. We were hungry at this time, my friend (no, not the big guy) wanted to go to Moose Lodge, I think that's the name of it. Afterwards is where we did our split for the day. Some wanted to see a show since they just ate. I wanted to get on more coasters before it get's too crowded. The people that went with me and I had about 2 hours or so before we might regroup. We decided to see how the line for Deja Vu was. It was packed with a little extra on the side. So we all thought "guess we'll try that later" and moved on. We went to Raging Bull and it was even worse. Raging Bull nearly was going over to Viper.

We checked on Viper's line and got on that. The line was only about 40 minutes or so. A great woodie, this is probably my favorite woodie, although I haven't been on many. When we got off, the line was even worse for Raging Bull if you could believe it. So we went over to Demon since now we ran into BIG H.

The line for Demon was pretty short, maybe 30 minutes or less. I was talking to a mom and two kids about ShockWave, the new coaster and SFWOA since they knew of flying coasters from X-Flight. When I told them about SFGAM's new one most likely being a flyer, they said that they probably wouldn't go to SFWOA, but would maybe still go to CP. I told them about their new coaster being built for next year. They seemed excited about it. I should work PR for Cedar Point. We got on Demon, it was fun, made me miss ShockWave even more though.

We then walked by Deja Vu and they decieded to get on, they had never been on Deja Vu. I felt bad for BIG H, he said he would wait with us for a little bit and then find something else to do or ride. I was worried that becuase the line was long that at some point the ride would shut down on us. I COULDN'T BE PREPARED FOR WHAT WAS ABOUT TO HAPPEN! We waited and waited as the line moved slowly and even slower that could be though possible. The ride had two minor breakdowns while we were in line but nothing big. finally we get to the station and the line is moving slow. THEN IT HAPPENS... IT BRAKES DOWN AGAIN, BUT HTIS TIME IT WOULD NOT BE UP AND RUNNIG IN A FEW MINUTES. They even had the riders get off, not a good sign. By this time, almost 3 hours, we all have to use the bathroom. Me personally, I've had to go for the last hour. So we wait until we can't anymore. They decide to leave the line, I think to myself if I should or not. Finally, I go too. Just as we leave the line completely, I hear noise and look up to see Deja Vu running now. Well you can believe how mad I was now. We just wasted almost 3 hours! At this point I didn't feel like riding anything.

I leave that group and call aonther group and go with them to eat. We sit for awhile until I calm down. We go see Adrenaline rush at the Imax screen, it was awesome and helped clear my mind. Afterwards we went to the shuttle, It was ok. I had never seen it before. We then met up with some of the other people we came with and went into Necropalis. I was trying to do my best of scaring people myself outsite the entrance by Yankee Harbor. If you were there, I was wearing a blue pullover coat acting like a dork. Can you believe I'm 24??? It was fun. By then the park was emptying out since it was about 8:30. We decided to go on one more ride. We thought we would check and see how the line for Deja Vu was. The line was shorted but still about an hour long it looked. No point taking a chance and then being pissed to all hell if it closed again. Besides, I've been on it before and I will be on it again.

We went on Viper again. This ride is so much better at night. Just an awesome ride. Well this was a better way to end my day, coaster season then being dissapointed at Deja Vu at least. Overall it was an ok day, very good in the beggining, bad in the middle but ended on a high note which is more than I can say about last year.

See ya next year, Superman

Did you get to see the new track pieces while you were on IW? I was thinking about doing the same thing but refuse to ever get on that coaster again. V2 was what kept breaking down for me on Sunday, just as you said it would launch, climb up the first tower and then the brakes would kick in. This happened at least 5 times that day so I didn't ride it. Sounds like you had fun and hopefully you will get to ride Deja Vu next weekend.

Yeah, on Iron Wolf you could see the track of the new coaster. If you go next week and ride Iron Wolf to see the new track, either stand in front of it or on the right side. The higher yuo get up on the lift, the more visible it is. It's towards the front of the park, so when you get closer to the top it is easier to see. I won't be there next week unfortunatly so that was the end for me this year. As for Deja Vu, I guess it's not a big deal. I've went on it before, including the front row (a must for Deja Vu). Fright Fest was ok in my opinion. Fright Fest isn't a big deal for me, I'm there for the coasters. One thing that was funny was that Iron Wolf never became Iron WereWolf for some reason.
