Knotts Berry Farm 11/10

This day was a park lover's dream. Sunny but cool temps were abundant today. After watching some drag racing in Pomona, I headed over to KBF again that evening to continue my coaster quest.

Since I wanted to build myself up to the Xcelerator launch, I chose to ride Montezooma's Revenge first. Short ride, but it gives a pretty decent launch. I miss the ol Viper at SFOG, and this is one of the few rides of its kind left.

I hit Jaguar too whilst in the area. Not a bad family coaster that also gives a nice little tour of the park. A neat feature is that you fly through Monty's loop.

The mighty Xcelerator was up next. After chewing out some line cutters, I made it to the '50's themed station to jump on one of those hot rods. The seats on the trains are so comfortable, you could literally fall asleep in them if you weren't about to get shot out of a cannon. The ride ops also do a pretty good job of stapling you in your seat. Once the Christmas tree becomes active, get ready for launch. This launch easily blows away any other launch I have experienced on another coaster. You fly out of the station and then keep accelerating until you hit the large top hat. Twisting on the way up, you are on top of the hill in no time, then pointed straight down right after that, confusing your senses. Then the ride continues to do a couple of overbanked turns and into the brakes.

I'd rate Xcelerator as a great ride, with the launch easily being the best part of the ride. I expected a little more air at the top of the big hill, but got to enjoy the view a little bit more. The overbanked turns were fun, too, but after the launch, everything else seemed tame.

After a couple of rides on Xcelerator, I called it a night after a long day. I wanted to ride Perilous Plunge and the log flume, but temps were a bit too chilly for that.

All in all, I'd rate KBF as a must see for coaster enthusiasts and families alike. There is plenty to do for everyone, and this park is tops among cleanliness. There are shows to see and some outstanding theming that is absent from other Cedar Fair parks. Also, don't forget about the chicken they grow down on the farm.

Sounds like you had a pretty good trip, except for the rain on the first day.

The air on Xcelerator is a bit finicky, and is extremely dependant on where you're sitting in the train. In the front you get some floating air from just before the crest to over most of it. Decent float, and quite enjoyable.

In the middle- almost nothing. Very disappointing spot if you're looking for air.

In the back- omg the ejector air!!!! If you can manage to get a comfortable ride with the restraints instead of being stapled (still in firm but not squished), you'll definately notice this from just after the top all the way down! It's incredible when you can get the back with the restraints right!!

All depends on where you sit
