Disneyland 2/14 to 2/17 (with side trips)

I'm heading our to L.A. for a weekend to visit Disneyland. I visited DCA in January, so this trip will be a Disneyland only trip - with a couple of side trips.

I'm staying at the Anaheim Marriott. I arrive at Orange County Airport around 1:30PM PST. So, figure I'm at the park by 3:00PM.

I'm buying the five day park hopper pass online (it is the same price as a 3-day park hopper at the gate). I planned on spending Friday evening at the park and then each ofthe following days from 8AM until around 2PM. Saturday, I was going to slip out to Ontario, California to go to Scandia Park and return to Disney that evening. On Sunday, I was going to slip out aroundfthe same time and head to Belmont Park in San Diego to ride the Big Dipper. Again, I'd return to Disney later (it's open until midnight on Saturday & Sunday. I have a 1:00PM flight out of LAX on Monday so we could spend maybe two hours there before headingt o the airport.

Any comments or suggestions to make this trip more enjoyable are welcome from others.

Well, a couple of thoughts- how badly do you want the credits for those other coasters?

Scandia will take you probably around 60-90 minutes of driving each way, depending on traffic, and all that it really is is an overgrown mini-golf place with a few rides, including the Screamer. This being offseason, there is a good potential it may be down for rehab work. Definately call ahead.

Belmont Park you're looking at probably 90-120 minutes of driving each way. Depending on when you leave, you pretty much tossing the entire rest of your day at Disney aside to go down to Belmont. And there's not a lot there. The Giant Dipper and about 10 other rides or so- nothing out of the ordinary.

Unless you're really dying to get down there, I would save the side trips for a trip when you can really enjoy what's near them without all the driving (there's a lot to do in San Diego, easily enough for a week)
