| | Six Flags Great America Info Needed! Hey guys, I need some people to help me plan my trip to Six Flags Great America on Friday, July 11. I will probably be getting there pretty close to opening time (hours are 10-10) and will have to leave at approximately 7. Do you guys know how to manage the day?
Thanks a ton guys. This will help greatly!

| | | Well i'd say to hit Demon first. DON'T go to Wizzer unless you're like the first person in b/c it seems to everyones fav. starting coaster.
Demon is a relitively small Arrow looper, ignored by many and because it's in the VERY back of the park the crowds won't reach it right away. Make sure to ride Viper in the afternoon (early like 1:00) lines for it are shortest then. I don;t know about the really large attrations b/c the last time i was there (3 years ago) i was a wimp and didn't ride much. Enjoy your time there!

| | | S: UF is probably going to have the longest lines; so I'd go there first. Follow that with Raging Bull, then maybe Deja Vu. That's all I have to say; but I've never been to SFgam, so if someone else says otherwise listen to them.

| | | I'd definitly start by going straight to Superman. It will have the longest line in the park. Then either go towards Viper and Raging Bull or V2 and Batman. V2 and Batman are closer. I'm going to assume Deja Vu won't be open.

| | | If you want to ride Superman, go straight to it. I would then go to V2 and Batman since V2 has a low capacity and Batman is always one of the longest lines in the park. Raging Bull has a high capacity, so the lines shouldn't get too long. Viper's line thins out later in the day so try it then. The rest of the coasters shouldn't be very busy so do them whenever.
This is assuming Deja Vu is closed.

| | | Since I've been there several times this year, I've noticed a pattern. My advice is hit Batman first. Then V2...and work your way around the park. Superman should be the last thing you ride (after riding the rest) because no matter how long the line is, I've waited only about an hour for it. And for the record, the Fast Pass is not good on Superman...so purchasing one just for that reason is not a good idea. Deja Vu will probably never be running again, so scratch that.

| | | I would also hit Superman first thing- especially if you can be there when the park opens (a must if at all possible). Hit Superman quickly, then V2 and Batman in that order since they are nearby. That way you'll get them before lines develop.
Then as others have said, head over to Southwest Territory for Raging Bull and Viper. Hopefully the lines won't be to bad for you being a Friday and you'll be able to get on the rest easily.
Demon and Whizzer should both have moderate to short lines, and they shouldn't be to bad for Iron Wolf either.

| | | Hey, thanks a ton guys! This will be my first flyer and impulse, and I know that impulses have low capacity, and Superman is so new. So should I bypass Superman in order to get to V2 to cut the line? Should I head for Superman first?

| | | Hope you have fun.I've ridden 3 impulses: S:UE, WT, and V1.5 @SFMW. I preferred S:UE for its back spike because it holds you there for what seems like eternity, hanging on your restraints. I liked WT's back seat for its weightlessness on its back spike, but V1.5 only had one good point: you get to hang upside down on your restraint for about 2 seconds.

| | | If I were you, I would check out S:UF's line. If it is already long skip it. It is the only major attraction in the front of the park, so later in the day it should have less of a line. But if you get there right when it opens and there aren't any people in line then definitely hit it. If you decide to wait a ridiculous time for S:UF and have to end up skipping other rides to ride it, DON'T. You will be disappointed if you sacrifice a ride on say V2 for S:UF. Anyway, hit V2 next, then B:TR. Then head back towards V2 (away from S:UF) and hit Iron Wolf. If you hold yourself pretty stiff, the ride is very enjoyable, but be smart and brace yourself for turns and stuff (especially the one after the loop). Then do AE backwards is cool, but they trim forwards less... If you have time, then do both. Next is DV... if it's running do it if you have time, you will probably end up waiting an hour at least no matter how many people are in line, but if you have done most everything else, it is probably worth it. Then do Demon. You could probably get a couple quick rides in. Don't skip it, because the first drop has an unusual amount of airtime for its size. Then Giant Drop is next on the route. Its your average drop tower. Do it if you have time, if not, its fine. RB is definitely a must. The wait for the front is massive, so I'd go with the back row (very back row). I know this may sound really dumb, but because B&M coasters have the little drop before the drop, you can do something that makes the drop sooo much better. When you are right about to go down the actual drop, kind of jump in your seat. It sounds dumb, but it feels like you are jumping off a 13 story building, only to be caught at the bottom. Its really cool... Anyway, next is Viper. Don't skip it, the ride is awesome. Hit it in the back like most of the other rides in the park. The lap-bars have very few positions, so you will probably have lots of room in your seat for the great airtime on this ride. Leaving SW Territory you will be greeted by Whizzer. Its a fun ride, and it has some cool turns. After Whizzer, stop, and take a breath. Decide what you had the most fun on, and do it again! Oh, and if you have a little extra time, Fiddlers Fling (across from Iron Wolf) and the Fun Machine (by Whizzer) are neat flat rides. Have a good time!

| | | Definitely jump up before you drop on Raging Bull. It makes a big difference when you drop.
If S:UF is less than 30 minutes when you pass it go on in. If not walk by it.
