| | CP: Thanks and Some TIps My wife and I went to Cedar Point on June 13th and had a great time thanks to some of the tips on this forum. I had some
questions I was going to post but most had been answered/discussed previously. I did want to take the time and thank
everyone in this forum for the info.
I also wanted to mention a couple of things that I thought might make good tips and that I hadn't seen previously mentioned.
If they have been mentioned I apologize for the redundancy.
FREEWAY: The freeway ride reservation system is a great way to almost Guarantee you get a ride, however, they only start doing
hand stamps(atleast when I was there) at 11:00 and the ride reservations began for the 1:00 hour. I'm not sure about TTD because
it was broken but we got to the freeway booth for MF at 11:45 and they were already on the 8-9 PM time slot(you can request a time
they just give you an hour time slot and you have to take what they give and they only give out a certain amount for each hour)
So the long and the short of it is that if you want to do a freeway on MF get there before 12 PM. Even if you can't get MF it
is worth it for the other rides as it saves time and energy standing in line. We did a freeway for Magnum and turned a 45 minute
wait into 5 minutes.
Eating Lunch: CP suggests that you not eat lunch during the 12 Oclock hour and this is a really good idea.... we ate at 2
the ride lines were short from 12 - 2 and the wait for a table was short. We had pizza at Macaroni's and being able to sit
down in the AC and eat a good meal really recharged our batteries. Plus the Pizza at Macaroni's is very good(I would order
extra cheese though).
Hotels: The Breakers Express and the Radisson are really close(just of the causeway). But for my money I just paid an extra 50$
and went with the Breakers. We had a none view room in the old section for 150$ and the "nonview" turned out to be a view of Magnum, MF,
TTD and Mantis. Anyways having a room here allowed us to run back to the room if we needed to use the bathroom or just rest up for a bit. Plus
we hit the TGI Fridays for Dinner. Of course the best benefit is the get in the park early pass.
Entrances: We entered thru the Magnum Entrance but it might be a good idea(especially if TTD is down) to take one of the shuttles
to the Marina entrance and use that to get to MF quicker.
One last thing.... Bring Advil.... after one or two of the rides I kinda needed it.
Once again thanks to everyone who posted tips here.... it really helped make the day alot more enjoyable. |

| | | Thanks. Nice tips.
Do you have any complaints about your room in the old section of Breakers? I'm staying there this August.
You were able to enter the park at 9:00 right? Do they just give you a pass when you check in to the hotel?
How often are the shuttles to the marina entrance incase TTD is down?

| | No complaints. It is a little dated but it is very clean and the staff is very nice. We stayed in the cheapest rooms they had and
and they were still very clean and nice. They don't have elevator access and we were on the top floor but we packed light.
I felt for the people that had huge coolers and luggage to lug up. Also I dont know about the new rooms but there are not
individual safes in each room as there are at some resorts but apparently from the signs in the room they do have a main safe where
you can take your valuables down and store them. We just tossed that stuff in a drawer and put the do not disturb
sign up for the day.
We got their at 7:50 in the monring and our room was ready... they then gave us a signed card letting the park know we could
get in early. And you can get in at 9:00 and make your way to the rides(on our day only Mantis and MF were running early)...
they say they start putting people on at 9:30 but I would swear that people were on Mantis at 9:15.
The guy at the front desk said the shuttles were every fifteen minutes but I would give myself a buffer on that. I would say this
is the best entrance to get to MF first but that is just looking at the map and having walked around the park that one day. I know we entered the
park at 9:05 and by the time we got to MF the line was about 20 minutes. |

| | | We are also staying at the cheapest rooms they have at Breakers. I've heard some complaints (such as the beds are uncomfortable) so its good to hear you liked it. I knew about the no elevators but thats not too much of a problem. How many floors does it have anyways?
The Marina entrance is the closest to MF. That is where we went in from in 2001. We ran to MF and had only about a 5-10 minute wait once the ride opened.
Thanks again for the tips.

| | | When i was at CP about a week ago TTd was not running(obviously), so the early rides was millennium and another ride. I went through the Wicked Twister entrence for all 3 days. At the last day I noticed what seemed to be an entrence across from the skyride, behind dodgems, and next to that snoopy on ice thing. Is that an entrence of guests? I usually get Freeway stamps for Millennium and Mantis. Those two have the longest waits for me. I have been staying at the older section of Breakers for the last few years. This year was great. We still paid the same amount ($140-150?) but got a free cot (from cedar point brochure) and it was bigger and both of our sides were empty, so noone could bother us. Well, at night we went exporing and rode the elevator up to level 9. we exited out from some stairway and were stuck in there until we got to the very bottom because you need a card to get access in there. I thought my feet were gonna fall off from all that pain. It must have been 500 steps. |

| | | Yes Kjm, I "left" the park from that area last year and hit the Breakwater Cafe for food. Nice little walk. I think the entrance you mean IS the Marina Entrance.
krotalus13: When my family visited CP we would always hit dinner at Macaronis. Great pizza as you said.

Too bad I didn't look at my park map or listen to anyone because I thought the marina entrence WAS the Wicked Twister entrence because of that water thing nearby. Anyways next time I go I can just sprint right to Millennium without dying....that is unless Top Thrill is up. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
