I just took a trip to SFMM yester day,and I don't really know how to describe it. Maybe I wasn't in a coastering mood, but, whatever.
First, I got to the park at noonish, and headed right up to Ninja. X was closed, and Viper had a huge line. I waited about ten minutes for Ninja, but would have waited longer if I hadn't snagged a seat with a single rider.
Ninja: 8.5/10, overall a good ride.
Not much to say here but I have to congratulate SFMM for making me wait longer because of a one-train operation. A lot of people, including me, always forget how long and fun this ride is. Lots of snappy curves, and some slight headbanging. They could have had some more after the second lift, but that's all right.
After that, I noticed Superman was down for the count. So, I headed down the mountain, and saw that SpinOut (Sensei Rotor) was running.
SpinOut: 10/10, Fun, fun, fun ride.
I wish there were more of these. The only slight bad thing is that the floor doesn't go down the full two feet, only about one foot down. Still, no flat ride can ever top this thing. Round and round and round and round and round and round. A funny thing happened on my fourth ride: I was the only person who knew that the floor would drop. Hee hee, that was funny, seeing all the reactions of the kids. Stuck a few things to the wall, then threw my hat out, and I caught it again on the opposite side. Very cool. I think I have a flat spot in the back of my head now.
I wandered up to the skycoaster, and forked out 30 bucks for a ride on both the ThrillShot and the skycoaster. Whee!
Skycoaster (Daredevil Plunge or something like that): 8/10, good drop.
This is your basic skycoaster, but still fun.
ThrillShot: 10/10. I prefer the new seats, as the old ones were a bit much. I took the trip where you flip foward at the top for the drop. Good ride, felt very secure.
I walked up to Psyclone, which had a 15 minute line.
Psyclone: 8/10, slight jackhammering, but smooth compared to SOB.
Whoo! I really love this ride. A good replica of the original Cyclone, a good long ride. Nice airtime in the back. Downfall: only a one train operation.
Went up to Deja Vu, and took three rides.
Deja Vu: 10/10.
Far back seat is still the best, especially on the first lift. Nice fast loop, and the cobra roll was pleasantly whippy

.
Walked back to Freefall, rode SpinOut, and was sad to see Gold Rusher was down,

as was Arrowhead Splashdown. Finally got to Freefall.
Freefall Satellite Tower: 10/10, fun and scary, and mechanically ingeneous.
Yah! I love this ride! I think Freefall should have been named SCREAM!, because that's what you do on this ride. I haven't screamed so loudly on a ride, and I did it without an ounce of shame. AAAAAAAHOOOOO!!!
Then...
Tidal Wave: 10/10.
The only reason I gave it a 10 is because of the bridge. The ride itself sucks. Tip! Tip! Sit in the back row on one of the outside seats, and when the wave is slightly dying down, stick your hand into the wave of water splasing beside you. The water will soak the entire row! Also, be sure to stand on the bridge. It's not the Snake River Falls bridge at CP, but it will get you wet.
From there, I went back to Freefall, which had a car stuck on the runoff. I talked to the person who was turning people away (Martha), and found out she was a ride-op and a coaster enthusiast. We talked for about thirty minutes until she was called back to the station because the ride started working again. Rode Freefall, and floater a penny. Then, I wandered to the Scrambler, and came upon an "Excuse our mess" sign, with a wall surrounding the Scrambler itself.
I poked my head above the wall, and was nearly knocked off my feet by what I saw. There, in front of me, was the Scrambler. Only, only it lookesd as if had been, well,
BLOWN UP . Most of the decorative poles bunched together on the top were either bent in half, knocked off, or just
broken . Then, one of the arms was bent, and a few of the cars had fallen off. My question:
WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED?

If you are going to SFMM soon, go look. You will get a shock.
Anyway, I headed down to Colossus, and nabbed a few rides in the last car, front seat.
Colossus: 10/10.
How the mighty have almost fallen. I got a three click ride, and I swore I was going to fly out of my seat. Whew! I love that first drop and that drop after the MCB's (which were off) almost threw me out of my molded seat. The only thing that would make this ride any better would be if it still raced. Whoo hoo! I actually got a few pops of airtime on those hills. Go ride it.
I went to the Collosus County Fair Kitchen, and got refills galore on my Coke. Went back up to Grinders Gearworks, which was fun as usual. Nothing to report there. From there, I decided to ride Yosemite Sam's Sierra Falls (or whatever it's called).
Yosemite Sam's something something:8/10.
This is essentially SFMM's bobsled coaster, and is one hell of a good one. They were running both sides, and told me to take the right path since I was a single rider. No line for the singles, huge line for the doubles. YES! I LOVE THIS RIDE. You get airtime (slightly), some good g's, and you get WET. First, you board the little raft. You dip down, and turn 270* to the right, dip, and go flying up onto the side of the tube. You crisscross back and forth, with another dip in there somewhere. But, hold on for the 2nd and 3rd turns, because a wave of water splooshes over and onto your lap. One word describes thgis ride: FUN.
Flashback was, depressingly, closed. I wandered over and rode Swashbuckler, a fun Yo-yo. Headed to the Granny Gran Prix, and rode in the black car. Snagged a kid for Canyon Blaster, the kiddie coaster. Sadly, by this time it was time to go, so I headed back.
Overall...
Park itself: 2/10, Scream was way overrated (I rode it earlier this year), and most of the rides were closed.
Rides: 6/10. Riddlers and B:TR had 3 hour lines each! Probably because they were running only one train on both. I had fun on the ones I DID ride.
So, yeah, that was my day.
