Cool Paramount's Kings Island - 6/20-6/22 and also 6/27

Visited Kings Island for the first time....here are some thoughts on rides and other stuff too...

The Beast : This had to be the BEST wooden coaster I have ever been on. I started my vacation on this coaster and ended it here on the last day. The ride was a bit rough at times, but nothing beats flying through the first tunnel at 50 mph in the PITCH BLACK hearing nothing but screams. I just loved this coaster. The helix at the end rocked too...Just a great wooden coatser.

The Vortex: It was OK. I rode this about 3 times this trip. Bruised me up pretty good. I also got banged around a bit. Sat on the right side all rides and thought I was going to fall out of the coaster during the second part. I think that they should redo the harness system or something...just painful

The Racer: Great old wooden coaster. Just a classic. Going backwards was better than forwards. Just wish they would have raced them...ya know like the name states...

Adventure Express: Umm...this sucked. Nuff said

Flight of Fear: Cool queue area, A/C would have been nice though. Also clean the spit balls from the monitors...yuck..Nothing beats coming around the corner, hearing the music stop, and the car just disappear. Awsome ride....Loved it.

Son of Beast: Just one word...PAIN!!! I expect woodies to be rough, but this was ridiculous. Once and only once...Never again...even when it was a walk on. The loop was cool though.

Top Gun: Cool ride, way to short. Just when it got fun, it was over. My hubby kept saying "Thats it?" Where was the ride...It took us longer to walk to the ride than the ride was to ride it...LOL...

Face Off: Cool concept, short ride. First time going backwards on a suspended, but have been on that type of track design before.

Tomb Raider: OMG!!! This was the last ride we rode on Sat noght so it was a walk on. Had NO CLUE what it was going into it. I thought my husband was going to pass out on me as he HATES those types of rides when he saw it, but he didnt weant to chicken out in front of some kids that were waiting with us. AWSOME ride. Just AWSOME! Very neat idea, great themeing.

Drop Zone: Longest line we waited in. Faced the SOB both times ridden it, once at night and once during the day. It is kind of freaky going up, then just sitting there, waiting, and waiting, and waiting. Then before you can relieze whats going on.....you drop!! Great ride!!

Delirium: Was a bit nervous on this one. The ride op miscounted so we got kind of screwed on the seating so we waited in the holding gate for the next one. Got some great pics and joked around with the ops. Sat in seat #1, facing the operator. He could tell I was nervous, but he told me i would love it...I DID!! Nothing beats swinging straight for the ground..LOL...Just a great ride.

Scooby Doo: Horrible ride. Couldnt tell what I was shooting at. Men in Black and Buzz at WDW are both better.

Also went to the top of the tower for the sky pics of the park. Rode some flat rides too. Typical fair stuff...

Some other random thoughts:

-PKI has started a guest survey. Look for the cards in the gift shops to report you day. Great way to tell them how you feel.
-I collect magnets from various places I visit. I could NOT find a magnet that said Paramounts Kings Island. I was quite ticked about it too.
-Why is the park so dirty? Why does the parking stall look like it was placed there just 3 days ago and is waiting to be wheeled away to a different location? Just looks so crappy.
-Why are all the flat ride times so short? Just ridiculous.
-If you win a basketball as a prize, please dont bounce it all day long, throw it across paths, pr bounce it in queue lines...I HATE BASKETBALLS!!!
-Why are there so MANY SpongeBob toys to win, but few of everything else. I only wanted a little pug dog they had as I have pugs. The only place to win them was a basketball game, and I am not good at that. They were nowhere else, unlike Spongebob and ScoobyDoo. And why so many Guess your...booths.
-The candy in the candy bins was GREAT!!!! Gummies were SUPER soft...awsome fudge too.
-Why no perks for being a Season Pass holder?
-The water park...what a JOKE!! The water was frigid. The slides, boring. Only cool thing was the wave thingy. Neat to watch them use it.

Well that about wraps up my PKI trip report. Hope it was OK. Please comment if you like. Thanks all for a great site as I am new here but love the site.

I have a PKI season pass (gold pass) and I could answer some of you rrandom thoughts.

-In question with all the Spongebob/ Scooby Doo prizes the only thing that i can think of is that because it is affilated with Nickalodian (splat city, runaway reptar ect.) so it makes sence it would have prizes also with Sponngebob and since SPONGEBOB 3-D is new this year. For the Scooby Doo prizes I would think since Scooby doo and the Hunted Castle is new this year. I dont think those prizes wer so over populating the prize scelction last year.

-for Season pass benifits: there was a "season pass night" early in the yaer. For most of the "yearly" benefits are for Gold Season Pass holders (I am one) which enclude "Double Ride Tuesday" "Walk on Wednesdays" thrill Seakers thursday" and earlier in the year on Sat./Sun. rides were open earl

Also on Vortex it helps it you ride in the back for a smoother ride.

I am asolutely with you on the basketball issue.

I hate basketballs, and I HATE people that bounce them. When ever I hear a person bouncing a basketball I want to grab it from them and chuck it far away. Maybe they would fetch it, leaving me in peace.

Basketballs suck.
