| Y'all ready to ride dem five rolley coasters? (Day 1, 2 and 3 of my Virginia trip)
(Side note: I'm actually writing this from Williamsburg) Day 1 I woke up Saturday morning around 8, to a snazzy new Chrysler 300M my dad had rented for our grueling drive. The plan? To drive from My house, all the way to Williamsburg, Virginia. Not an easy drive by any means, for myself, my dad, mom, and sister. We split it up into two days, the first, was all driving. I spent about 10 hours in the car, only making an occasional rest stop for food and/or bathrooms. We pulled into Bedford, Pennsylvania in the late afternoon. My dad had booked it because of it's location, not knowing anything about the town. The town has a population of around 34, with 30 of them being at church. We drove through "downtown" around 6, and every single store was closed, save for Denny's. We went past the church, and I swear every single person who did not work in one of the three hotels or Denny's was coming out. So yeah, to cut out a lot of the clutter, Bedford has more cemetarys than open stores, a Rollerdisco, and a neon sign that says "Jesus is Lord", which I got a nice picture of. Day 2 We wanted to get the hell out of Bedford, so we left fairly early, around 9. After another four or so hours in the car, we pulled into the Powatan Plantation resort, where we were renting a timeshare for 5 days. This place is huge. Two pools, a store, basketball, tennis, and this snazzy business centre from which I a currently typing. So yeah, the apartment dealie is nice. So yeah, we took a look around the resort, and headed out to the local grocery store to buy some of those awesome American products we can't get in Canada (ie: Cookie Crips cereal, yum). After stocking up, we went back to the apartment, took a nice soak in the hot tub, and headed to bed, as Busch Gardens was tomorrow.

Day 3 I was woken around 8, as the park opened at 10. I was the last to wake up, but the first out the door, as I was pumped for Busch. We found the park with ease, but that parking lot is one of the most confusing I've ever seen, I couldn't figure it out even just walking in it. So we caught the tram to the front gate, and after a small line/bagcheck, we were in. We got in the park around 9:40, so I expected to have some time to waste. But as I meander down some paths, I hear a chain lift ahead of me. What's this? They opened Loch Ness Monster early? score! With a walk on, I walked straight up to the front of the back car, with my dad and sister taking the front of the car in front of me. Very very smooth ride for a 25 year old Arrow, some great airtime in the back, good G's in the loops, all around a fun ride, and a good way to start (3/5). I came off the ride, and I wanted to head to Big Bad Wolf first, as I heard the lines can be long. I waited at the entrance to Italy, and at 10, was off with the masses. I was confused within about 50 feet, the layout of the park takes some getting used to. I ended up walking right past the path I was supposed to take, and ended up in the Roman Rapids dead end. So I went back and found the right path, only to be told by a security guard that it opens at 10:30! What!? Oh well, since we're here... Apollo looked just too inviting to pass up. So I grabbed my sister and went for a back seat ride, since again there was no line. Well, let me just say this was one of many, many backseat rides I got today. This thing is all that and a bag of chips. Amazing drop, and floater AND ejector air on every single hill! Holy cow, me likes. Coming off that, we took a walk back to the path through Italy, whcih was now open. Italy looks hellacool, but the ride I was looking for was in Germany. So we walked through Italy, only to find yet another security guard, saying that area of the park doesn't open until 11! what the fudge?!. Oh well. We headed back to ride Escape fromPompeii. After a one boat wait we were off in the backseat, but were stopped at the very top. They restarted, but the entire inside of the building was just pitch black, and then the drop. That's it?! We got back to the station, and were offered a reride because of the stoppage. Well who am I to refuse? So off we were again, and this time, all the effects were on. The fire was especially cool, the fire ceiling was awesome. And the splash wasn't too wet. Walking back into Italy, taking a ride on DaVinci's Cradle, which was a fun little ride. Now the back areas of the park were open, so my sister and I ran off, to meet my parents later. We ran to BBW, but the line was already massive, and wasn't moving at all. So we passed (to come back later), and headed to Aplengeist. We chose the front, 'cause that's the place to be with inverts. That first half just plain rocks. Massive Gs, blazing speed, tons of inversions, this thing was cookin'. Well, until we hit the block brakes, which brought it to a crawl. The rest fo the ride sort of meandered around, nowhere near as good, but that front half is good for a 4/5. Most of the rest of the day was a blur, I know I rode Wild Maus (fun, but nothing special, 2/5), Corkscrew hill (Good, but not great), Haunted Lighthouse (Very very good, Disney quality) Big Bad Wolf (Did not live up to my expectations, way too short to justify two lifts. It had it's moments, but I was overall dissapointed, 2/5. Rode in the front and 6th car). I rode Alpengeist again in the back, where it was much more jerky, but still very intense. Roman Rapids, a very good Intamin rapids ride (Fast, wet, great!). The skyride a few times (Great views), the train for a lap and a bit (for views, then transport), then I rode Apollo. Then I rode it again. And again, and again. I must have ridden it at least a dozen times, this is now my favorite coaster, of all time. Just so much airtime, and man, I'm diggin' those B&M Speedcoaster trains!! 5+/5! I marathoned that thing until park close, and now I'm typing this. The onyl thing I ate today was at the Trapper's Smokehouse. I got the chicken sampler, and man, it was extremely tasty! It was expensive, at around $10, but it was so much that I never did eat dinner, as I was just not hungry! So yeah, it's an awesome park, with two very awesome rides. Tomorrow is the beach, then Wednesday is King's Dominion. I'll write a report when I get back from it.
