| SFKK-6/30:Midwest Southern Circle This was the second park on my trip and the other park in the trip that would be new to me. I wasn't as excited about htis park as I was about SFStL. I did want to ride Chjang a lot though and was interested in going on Geased Lightening since I never rode Tidal Wave when it was at SFGAm. I was a little concerned that GL might not be running though since I had heard not too long before that it was down for a while. As it was though all coasters would be running that day.
The park really seemed strange becuase it was in the middle of the paking lot and the building used for shows or conferences or something another. It was also weird on the one street since Twisted Twins runs right along it. It was different to have a coaster sitting right there practically in the neighborhood. We first rode the wild mouse coaster there. It was fun making the wild turns especially since we're bigger than most people combined who probably ride this. I weigh about 225, my one friend weighs around 200, his girlfriend I'm not sure but then our biggest friend goes just under 300. We were putting some stress on the guide wheels there. I thought for sure we get the train to give up and just go over the edge a couple times. It was fun and had a couple cool drops not to mention plenty of lateral G's.
Next up was Greased Lightening. The line was still short for this, this was the only line that was short the whole day for us. We get on and sit down pulling down the very old looking lapbars. These lapbars might be the scariest part of the ride. We luanch from 0-60 in what feels like a week or two, but was still fun. It just feels slow compared to V2,WT or S:UE and forget about TTD, after that everythnig feels slow. We go through the loop and get some G's and then go up the steep tower till we stop going any higher. Now comes the scary part, as we drop and then start to go through the loop now backwards. Because there is no second set of accelertion here of course, we have lsot some of our speed and go a lot slower through the loop. It seems to take almost as long to get through it as it did to launch. You seem to be upside down forever. You then hit some brakes to slow you down and then through the station and up a rear tower and then down back into the station. It was alright, the launch is slow in comaparison to what's out there today. The loop can be scary going backwards though. It would be cool to see it modified with 90 degrees towers.
We got on Chang after a long wait due to only one train operation like every other coaster in the park. We got on the front row of this awesome coaster. I've only been on two other standups before (Iron Wolf, Mantis) and this is the best easily. It was pretty smooth for a standup and just had an awesome layout. Tall and fast are two thing I like on steel coasters. I'm defintely glad I waited for front row of this one!
We rode Batman2: the clone, I'm sorry I mean the ever popular SLC cloned all over the world, better known here as T2 which is the dumbest name I've ever heard for a coaster. I think it's dumd becuase when you hear the name, you have to of course always think of Terminator 2 when it's really terror to the 2nd power, just a stupid name. Something I notice weird about it besides using ONLY 1 TRAIN is that it only has 7 rows, later during my trip I notice that Serial Thriller at SFWoA use 10 rows. We get on after another long wait, we get on towards the back. I had been on Serial Thriller a couple years back and remember liking it. We head up the lift and start our ride. I don't think this ride is as rough as most others do. The restraints were well padded on this one so even if you do hit your head, it shouldn't be too bad. I liked this one a lot, there were a few times where I got some major negative G's which felt weird on an inverted coaster. I don't know if this had to do with only having 7 rows compared to 10 like other SLC's. It's a good ride wioth constant inversions and turns. A very good ride.
Now it's time for the woodies. As we head towards them, we pass by the drag racing extra fee attraction. I was wearing my Top Thrill Dragster shirt at the time. As we passed, a couple kids just finished their run on it. I yelled to them "you can't hang with the real Dragster!!!) and show the back of my shirt. We go to Thunder Run and head our way to the station. My friend gets worried that he might not be able to ride since he notices they have seatbelts as well as lapbars. This my friend who weighs around 300. We get on and luckily he is able to get on with us. This is also good news since we'll be at Cedar Point in a few days and most of the coasters have seatbelts. This ride was a lot of fun, it had plenty of hills with massive airtime. It had some good turns to it and was just a lot of fun. It was cool that we lined up so that we sat in the same car becuase I ended up buying the on ride photo of it.
Last was Twisted Twins, this is their racing/dueling coaster except you can't do that running only one train on the whole coaster. It's a real shame becuase this was also a fun ride that I probably would have liked even more if it raced/dueled. I don't remember it real well but do remember it was pretty fast and had some good drops on it.
This park surprised me since I didn't expect too much from it. The lines really bothered me though. The lines weren't long because there were a lot of people, it all had to do with a dreaded thnig thing: ONE TRAIN OPERATION! This was ridiclous, it was a very hot day and to have wait longer in the hot lines that had minimal shade was just very upsetting. It would probably be a while before I would go to this park again. I'm surprised that SF gave them a coaster like Chang since it doesn't seem to award smaller parks with such big rides like this. The two woodies were fun, but the only 'stand"out coaster ended up being Chang. I couldn't recommend making a trip more than a couple hours outta the way to visit this park.
