Angry CP Area Hotel...Stay away from Comfort Inn

My hubby and I traveled to CP a few weeks ago and had the most HORRIBLE experience at the Comfort Inn Sandusky on Milan Rd. The hot tub was green, yes green. The bed was basically plywood. The sheets were dirty. The ceiling was moldy....

Just all in all a HORRIBLE PLACE....

We moved to the Clarion in the mall, Much nicer and a really neat hotel

Comfort Inn has seemed too gone to shyt, then entire chain, even though Sleep, Comfort, Clarion (and another one) are all within the same chain. I advise people to stay away from Days Inn as those can be rather nasty too.

HAHA I made the same mistake. We opened the room and there was moths everywhere. I whole night I was like shaking because some landed on my face. Finally I slept in the car. LOL this is why this forum was created, to tell you which hotels are good and bad and not have to learn it the hard way.

This won't matter too much in the future.
Most will pay the extra money and stay at BE for the early entry.
The other hotel that's cool is the Holiday Inn, which has that huge indoor playroom.

Ugh, that is absolutely disgusting. Let us know what becomes of your letter. Hopefully you'll get your money back.

I stayed in a sleazy place like that one. Writing letters are too high class for me, so I just did the infamous upper-decker before I left. LOL.

All my stays at Comfort Inns were good. Just had bad "continental" breakfast chocies.

Biscuits that were cold, muffins with bad tasting nuts, Pancakes that had bits of plastic wrap, but they had good waffles. You made them yourself. Hm. Maybe thats why they were good.

I had an ex once that insisted that she stay at a cheap motel. She said there were sentimental reasons since her family always stayed there when they traveled..

Well...

Not only did the TV receive nothing but porn, there was graffitti all over the walls and doors, we had to call the front desk for toilet paper as none was in the room, but worse of all, the toilet hadn't been flushed since the last person left us a solid welcome.

We didn't stay together much longer after that (not necessarily because of that)

Also stay away from Rodeway Inn. We went there when I was 10(my first trip to Cedar Point), and the water was green, it smelled like someone died in there, and we got to stay next to a loud bunch of kids whos parents didn't seem to care even though it was 12 at night.

While my husband was in Sandusky, we stayed out near Rte. 2 and didn't have problems, though I feel the room was mildly overpriced considering it was a "standard" room (no hot tub, etc.). We also stayed in the Quality Inn with a jacuzzi room, and found it very affordable though the air conditioner squeaked terribly.

One chain I never have a problem with is Hampton Inn -- a little more pricey, but well worth it. Typically we go more inexpensive, and well, you get what you pay for sometimes.

I have had the same sort of experience while going to a park.

We were going to Florida to go to IOA and BGT. The first part of the trip we stayed at the Hard Rock hotel by IOA (a very nice place) but on the second to last day of the trip we left Orlando and went over to Tampa. We went to BGT first and discovered that it wasn’t anywhere as nice as BGW. After we left the park we headed over to our hotel, a holiday inn, once we got there the guy at the counter wanted us to pay an additional $30 incase we used the phone (which we didn’t pay). Then when we got to the room we discovered that it was a piece of ****. The room had a very bad smell, the beds were extremely hard the room was very dirty, and there was mold all over the bathroom. We left that room and they did give us another room. But this one still wasn’t very good it just didn’t have the mold and the bad smell.

I stayed there once, it was terrible, I don't remember a whole lot, I just remember it being crap. This time I'll be at the Rodeway in near CP, does anyone know if it's pretty good?

When I was at CP, I stayed at the MicroTel. It was pretty nice, but it was near a train track so every once in awhile a train would drive by honking it's horn and all that mess. It was pretty annoying. Other than that, it was very nice.

About BGT, I reccommend the AmeriSuites there. It's a few blocks away from the park and it's REALLY nice. We got a Suite there for $85 a night I believe. It was a very large room for what we paid. Two thumbs up!!!

I stayed at the Rodeway Inn last year and it was pretty much a craphole dive. The room was kind of nasty and dirty. They also put us next to the indoor pool and the gameroom that had the volume turned up to max level. Nice place to stay if you don't need sleep. But, I must say the mirror on the ceiling was a nice touch.

I stayed at the Rodeway Inn last year, my room was fine. It was nicer than some other places I've stayed at in Sandusky.
