| | | Sfog- 7/15 Woke up. Noticed it was my birthday. Decided it would be fun to go to SFOG. Called up some friends. Got it to work.
So we departed around 9:15 and were easily there early at 9:45. First we headed straight to S: UF seeing Deja Vu closed as usual. We managed to snag first ride of the day, row 6. The ride was better than usual, seemingly whipping us around faster than before. As usual I enjoyed the incredibly comfortable flying position, and the pretzel was as intense as ever. One of the better rides I've had on S: UF lately, but I still feel its a "one trick pony"- 8.5/10.
After waiting around five minutes for some incompetant ride ops to open up the gift shop barring the exit, we quickly went over to GASM. Somehow we were the first ones there, and took first ride of the day, back row. Great ride as usual. The airtime was as usual fantastic. Seeing no one else in the station, we stayed on three more times before leaving. The last ride my friend went a little crazy and unbuckled the safety belt, and we were constantly slamming into the lapbar. Good stuff: 7/10.
Then we were right there, so we had have a quick ride on Ninja, just to do it. For some reason they had two trains running, but were putting riders on only one. We hit the back row for no reason inpartincular, and the highlight of the ride was seeing from the lift hill Deja Vu was testing. Rough, but less painful than usual. 4/10.
Seeing Deja Vu testing, we immeadiately ran there, to find a line outside the queue. The ride ops said they would open it up at eleven, so we waited fifteen minutes and again got the first ride of the day, row 6B. I hadn't been on Deja Vu for more than a year so I was pretty excited. I also renoticed Vekoma still needs help making comfortable OTSR's, but it wasn't too bad. The ride was a pure adrenaline rush. The vertical loop was good, no complaints on the cobra. It didn't seem as disorienting as I had remembered it to be, but it also was faster than I recalled. If only it could run all the time.....8/10.
Next we headed to B: TR. Around a five minute wait. Noticed some of the fog machines in the queue were working again. Hit my head on the doorway jumping through the queue. Painful. Snagged the last row seeing as there was no one in the Qbot line. "greyed out" during the ride. Didn't care. Fast, intense, good, but as always felt a little short. B:TR- 7.5/10.
Next we headed to Scorcher, but my friends were put off by the terrifying twenty minute wait. I pleaded and pleaded, but my friend still chose to use his free Qbot coupon, so I just enjoyed the benefits. A terrible waste of a Qbot coupon, but oh well. So we used the qbot on Scorcher, and went to eat. Unfortunately some of the places weren't open, so only one person ate. Afterwards we scrambled onto Scorcher, and went to the sixth row. Great ride as usual. Still love the part after the first vertical loop. Was dissapointed they were only running one train. Oh well, we used a qbot. Scorcher: 8/10.
Then we saw Pizza Hut was open, and my friend who had eaten qboted Acrophobia while we waited. He came back with only five minutes left of qbot time, so I ate as quickly as possible, and we left our friend who wasnt feeling well behind to finish eating. We went up and up and up. At the top, the ride op went with the usual "We will drop in 10...9...8...7" and dropped us. This time I tried looking straight out at the surroundings rather than down at the ground where I had looked everytime before. It felt like it intensified the feeling that I was indefinately about to experience my own intensely painful death. Good stuff. Acrophobia 8/10.
We headed back to Pizza Hut to check in with my mom, sick friend, and brother and his friend. My friend was sick and was calling his dad to pick him up, so my remaining friend and I went to try and qbot Deja Vu. Surprise, Suprise! It was down. Piece of crap. So then we went and qboted S: UF. While we were waiting we rode the bumper cars. The wait was actually around fifteen minutes. Enjoyable. Then we still had 15 minutes left on our qbot and really wanted to bump our brothers, so my friend and I went into the qbot line and flashed our S: UF screen at the ride op, who obviously didn't read it. In attempting to block our brothers we created a massive roadblock/traffic jam, and it was great fun. Bumper Cars: 6/10. We went back to S: UF and was happy to see they were running both stations for the first time I'd seen in a while. Went in the fifth row. Again, good stuff.
Then we were really, really bored. We qboted Deja Vu, and had not much to do. We weren't up to a 45 minute wait for Mindbender when we could get on later for no wait towards the end of the day. So we just sat around. Then we saw we hadn't ridden Freefall. So we took at our quarters and found amusement watching them float from our knees. Yes, we were very bored. Freefall 5/10. So we walked around awhile, checked out the "scenery", and finally it was time for Deja Vu. Again a huge adrenaline rush. Then my mom informed me she would like to leave soon to escape rush hour traffic, etc. So we caught a last ride on Mindbender, with a five minute wait. Managed to keep my hands up through the whole ride. Intense, fun, and well more fun. Mindbender 8.5/10. Just as we got off, they announced inclement weather and the ride was closing. So we left.
The end.

| | | Sounds like a good time. Did you get bitten by any snakes? I know you said you liked looking at your surroundings this time on Acrophobia, but which do you recommend? Looking out or down?

| | Wow's that is very weird because that sounds exactly like the day I went. I also ran straight to SUF thought it was a one trick pony, then went to GASM, then Ninja and when I went, they only loaded one train also. Except for Deja Vu, when I rode it vallied once and broke down twice while I was in line. B:TR for me was not a 5 min, but a 50min. Hah that's what I get for going opening day. I also finished with a ride on Georgia Schorcher. Here's my trip report if you want to see how similar ours actually were. http://www.thrillnetwork.com/boards/...threadid=19276

| | | Wow, that is pretty similar. And I was watching out for some snakes in the grass. I would probably reccomend looking down on Acrophobia, although both are very well. If there isn't a long line, I would probably try both ways. The lines for Acrophobia were much shorter than usual yesterday.
